I have noticed a slight css bug/feature with the Portfolio Page – With Titles template. I sent you an email so you can see it in action. Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
Hi,
I replied to your email 16 hours ago. Here are my comments:
I don’t know if you are talking about the images being cropped. If you are this is not a bug, because when we use a fixed grid size there will always be some image cropping.
If you want to avoid cropping please use the Masonry template (and if you want to achieve a similar grid effect make all your thumbs have the same size).
I hope this was clear. Thank you for purchasing
So the only portfolio template that does not work correctly in terms of image re-sizing is the “With Titles” one?
All of the other templates scale images without clipping them. If there will be no official fix for the scaling on the “With titles” template I will see if I can find a fix for it myself and post the solution here.
No… The portfolio grid page also crops the images slightly. If you want to set up a grid with images having different sizes how will you make them show without cropping and without distorting the original proportions?
We are keeping all images at the same dimensions, 900×500.
If the portfolio grid page is cropping images then it is almost un-noticeable.
However, the titled template crops images differently even when it has the same amount of space to display the image.
You can see an example of what I am talking about with this screenshot: http://prntscr.com/10ux2o
Ok… Now I got you
I’ll try to make them behave in the same way. I’ll email you with some feedback in the next 24h.
Cheers
Ok. Thanks for hearing me out! Everything else with the theme is rock solid.
Cheers!
I have just improved this locally. I’ll release an update tomorrow with this change. Send me a private message if you want the files right away. Cheers!
Hi Pirenko, I have couple questions regarding on my site (http://madebyvivi.com/) 1. in my blog section, if you shrink them to tablet and mobile size, the “triangle marker” position is not as what it supposed to like what you had in your theme – http://madebyvivi.com/blog/
2. My contact form is not working, every time I tried to send a message through the contact form it generates an error message ‘email failure. please try again’ even though I used the valide email address. http://madebyvivi.com/novitaprasetia/3. I couldn’t change the color of the text field on the contact form
Thank you so much, hope to hear from you soon
Hi,
1 – Do you have any custom CSS added to the theme options? If so try erasing it, because there might be some error on that code. Did you try also turning off all the plugins? If you have already things like this please send me a private message with your FTP details for debugging;
2 – I just sent an email and the sender (me) receives an email with a copy so it’s working fine;
3 – The text color is the same as your body color. The problem is that these modules background should have the same color as your timeline blog, so, once again, there’s something wrong with your CSS somewhere. Send me a private message for debugging…
Cheers!
1) Is there a way of removing the blog timeline or blog centered page title?
I tried to remove the title in the template_blog_timeline.php and template_blog.php files. h1 class=”header_font body_text_shadow”> <?php the_title(); ?>
It works fine to do it in the single.php, then the title are gone in blog posts.
2) I want to remove the hover effect in the top menu, but keep it in the filter and on portfolio images. How do I add a new class to the top menu and custom.css without affecting the other settings in Twisted options?
3) The Flickr feed in the footer, do you have an example of the code you are using for that widget?

Hi,
1 – If you are using that page as your homepage you’ll need to edit the index.php file. Otherwise it should work by erasing that part of the code;
2 – The hover effect is done with jQuery for a smooth transition. You’ll need to edit the main.js file;
3 – The plugin is the Slickr Flickr and the code I placed on the widgett is [slickr-flickr items="12" type="gallery"]
Cheers
Nice! I’ll test that. Quick support even on a Saturday night. Thanks
Great theme!
On Portfolio – Single – Wide Layout page: Is it possible to change the placement of the Title and the information that’s above the full width slideshow and place it underneath the slideshow instead? But above the navigation with thumbs.
Hi
You need edit manually the single-pirenko_portfolios.php file. Send me a private message for an eventual customization job. Thank you for your kind comments. Cheers!
I noticed that the contact code is using mail() as opposed to wp_mail(). When I tried changing it to wp_mail(), I’m getting errors (yet wp_mail() is working by testing via http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/check-email/)
It’s important for me to use wp_mail instead since I am using a pluggin to override the php default, and instead use gmail
Any tips? (I imagine I’m not the only one needing this info)
Hi,
You probably need to set up some additional things on the pirenko_contact_form.php file. I never needed to use that function so I ‘m not aware of any special needs.
Cheers!
Hi! It´s a very nice theme, I´m translating all into spanish, you know where can I change the “No more post to show” (that appears at the end of the portfolio items) to my language?
Hi,
You are right… I forgot to include that string on the theme options. I will do it on the next update. In the meantime send me a private message and I’ll assist you with this translation.
Cheers!
Just bought this theme, have been pondering for a while. Can I suggest an extra option in theme settings?
Specifically under the COLOR SCHEME section… “Active Inverse Color”
My main active menu colour is white text on a blue background, but for other inactive items I would like blue text on a white background (when mouse hover).
At the minute this is not possible…as when I use the settings below the active color is blue and the text is blue….but could be I feel with the additional option I’ve asked for above. Here are my settings…
Active Color: Blue
Menu Text Color: White
Menu Inverse Text Color: Blue
Many thanks, great theme!
Hi,
It’s better you send me a private message with a link and with that configuration set up so that I can see what you mean.
Cheers!
Also- is there a way to set the order of the portfolio items (within a particular skill lets say), other than date-added?
You can show pages with a specific skill if you want, but the default order is always the date.
There are some plugins to do this. Just google for “wordpress plugin order custom taxonomy”. Here’s a good one http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-taxonomy-sort/
See ya
Thanks!
Here’s another one for you. On the portfolio pages, hovering over any skill only shows the number of items with that skill which have already loaded… is there any way to make it show the total number of items in that portfolio with that skill, even if they haven’t already (lazy)loaded?
Similarly- once a skill is clicked, it only shows the items which have already loaded. It would be great if it would immediately load in the next items to fit the page. In case that’s not clear, what I mean is- say we’ve said the lazy-load limit to 6 at a time, and we’re looking at a portfolio with a bunch of items, yet of the first 6 there are none with a particular skill. In order to get them to show, once clicking the skill, the user has to scroll up and down the page. It would be much better if the first 6 items of that skill would immediately show, instead of a blank page
Hi,
About your first question: I don’t think it makes sense to show a counter of all if they are not visible. So the theme is showing the count only for visible items. And about the second question: I see what you mean, but once again, I think it makes more sense as it is now.
If both requests are vital for you send me a private message and I’ll send you a quote for these implementations.
Cheers!
Sent!
Great theme. Very Solid. I have just a request. Is there a way to remove the blog date from the timeline page. I am using the blog timeline to advertise our service days and the posting date is confusing people with our community service dates. Thanks man. Keep up the good work.
Hello and thank you for your kind comments!
Try adding this code under Twisted Options>Custom Scripts tab>Custom CSS:.timeline_entry_wp .classic_date {display:none;}
Cheers
Dude you are the man. Perfect!
More I’m digging into and using this theme, more I’m loving it
Question- any way to disable the Date from showing on portfolio items?
Hi,
Go to Twisted Options>Portfolio tab>Show date? option
Cheers
Perfect and easy! Followup question- at the bottom of the pages there’s a grid with “all work” and then thumbnails to other items with the same skill as that portfolio. Any way to either show only the “all work” or remove that line completely?
And if I’m using the featured image only for the thumbnail, what size should it be?
Currently there’s no option to show only the all work button. I might implement this on a future update…
About the featured image: there’s no recommended size. Cheers!
I just purchased the theme and am busy setting it up, but one issue I’ve noticed already is that there is not alot of granularity with the font colors. For example the sidebar text seems to use the same color value as headings. Is it possible for you add more css classes for fonts so that we can better control colors. I want to use a vibrant color but right now it is just too overpowering.
Hi,
The theme has eleven colors for you to choose. I try to keep a balance between flexibility and easiness of change. If you need some custom color for some specific section send me a private message with a link explaining what you want to do.
Thank you for purchasing!
I’m trying to change the content in the demo homepage- and where “Swift Coding” is currently, I tried changing from “entypo_icn-gauge” to “entypo_icn-camera” and it’s not working. Any leads on to where those big icons are? I’d love to put a camera there
That code should work… Can you send me a link? Send me a private message if you prefer.
Sent you the url privately. Though I just realized- it seems something funky is going on. It’s not loading for me on chrome-windows. But it is working for me on chrome-mac and on internet explorer windows. Maybe it’s a local bug… I don’t have a separate PC to try it out on to be sure, sorry
Ah, saw something that might help… in /inc/fonts/entypo/stylesheet.css – from line #177 (entypo_icn-picture) down, you switched the comments and content. i.e. before that you have something like:
.entypo_icn-quote:before { content: ’\275e’; } /* ‘âž’ /
And then after it it’s more like:
.entypo_icn-camera:before { content: ‘📷’; } / ’\1f4f7’ */
Not sure if that was on purpose or accident… later!
The CSS file seems to be fine here and I just visited your website and I can see the camera icon. Thanks!
Assuming that some voodoo is happening to make the CSS file appear as I wrote only on my computer- should they all be using the escape code and only have the actual character in the comment?
OK- did a little more detective work. Seems like Windows/Chrome was having some issues with the font file. So I put the SVG ahead of the ttf/woff and now it works fine
Also seems you had a typo on the first eot include (you wrote “fontfgello.eot” instead of “fontello.eot”). My src lines in the stylesheet @font-face block now reads like this:
src: url(“fontello.eot”); src: url(“fontello.eot?#iefix”) format(‘embedded-opentype’), url(“fontello.svg#fontello”) format(‘svg’), url(“fontello.woff”) format(‘woff’), url(“fontello.ttf”) format(‘truetype’);
Hope that’s alright?
This is kind of weird, because that was file was generated by the fontello web service. Anyway, the important thing is that it seems to be fine for you. Cheers!
Just bought it and getting ready to dig into it tomorrow. Before I do- quick question, how do you change the rollover for a portfolio item? Instead of a ”+” I’d like a magnifying glass or maybe a different graphic. Thanks!
Hi,
If you are not going to use it for anything else you can open the stylesheet.css file located inside inc/fonts/entypo and edit the content:before value for “entypo_icn-plus-3”. You can find the list of available icons on the icons.png file located on the Documentation folder.
Cheers
Thanks!
Also…. can you let me know what files were edited with the latest update?
I want the pricing table shortcode but have made a few css changes and just want to know the additions
Thanks Pirenko, fantastic theme.
To make the pricing tables work you need to update the custom.css file and also the entire pirenko_scodes folder.
My suggestion is that you paste your CSS changes under Twisted Options>Custom Scripts tab>Custom CSS. This way you can always update the theme and keep your custom settings.
Cheers!
Thanks Pirenko… I can’t get the Buttons to work.. the custom URL isn’t working just going to ”#”
You are right. There’s a small bug on the shortcode button. I’ll fix this in the next update. In the meantime please on your pricing table shortcode change button_text to button_link. Thanks!
Iphone menu doesn’t seem to work for me?
http://www.tinypawspetmindingandgrooming.com.au/Hi,
iPhone menu seems to be fine here. What seems to be the problem on your side?
Thank you for purchasing!
Hi Pirenko, it seems the links aren’t clickable?
I can click them perfectly. What phone and browser are you using?
This theme is awesome! Everything worked as stated…I’m happy with the end product. I definitely recommend this theme.
Thanks
Hello, Great theme. I had a couple questions: 1. On the front page, I’m trying to format the services section into thirds but when I put the shortcode in, it displays all the way across. What can I do to have it displayed in columns? 2. Is there a way to have the blog text align to the left? 3. Is there a way to make the Page Titles a smaller font and aligned to the left?
Thanks!
Hi,
Please send me a private message with links to the 3 pages you want to change.
Thank you for purchasing!
Hi, I want to reduce the font size of my blog article title and also align the posts title on the left and the content justified.
Send me a private message with links to the pages on your website where you want to change that. Cheers!
Still loving the theme! Quick question about the format. Is there only a single footer that’s allowed as far as the widgets are concerned? I’d love to see two footers for a particular page, one with 3 columns, and then a final one below that with just a single row. Not sure if that’s possible but figured I’d ask.
Hi,
As the theme stands in the original format you can’t do this. Nevertheless, you can achieve this by editing manually the footer.php file. Thanks!
