Hello Team, we have a bug when we try to put a background color to the website.
I have uncheck “disable output of all custom styling (CSS) from the theme options and use default styles from the stylesheet.” but it’s the same, if i put for example black color for the background it still be blank into the frontend
hi, the background color option is only for boxed layout, for full width you need to change it from css.
I am considering purchasing this theme but I have questions first?
1. can my users who have accounts use the recipe form to add their recipes and then have those recipes be listed as there own or authored by them if they have an account or is this page strictly a guest user page?
2. How does the recipe portion of the theme work? Do I need to find a recipe plugin for wp or will the theme accomplish the same goals in storing the recipe in the database, then providing a specific post to view it?
3. Do the ingredients have their own section in the database so that I may pull them for shopping lists for that recipe, etc.?

2. we have our own recipe template, and you can display it in the recipe page or in homepage by pulling it with shortcode
3.In this theme ingredients is classified as a taxonomy, it works like a ‘fixed’ category. so by using the right shortcode you can pull it to make a list or display it in a a page

I’ve worked with wp for some years now and know html/css pretty well. I know just enough php to edit a little here and there. (you might say…just enough to be dangerous…haha)The concept of wp and taxonomy, I am afraid that I’m not very familiar with how to make it work for me and need to learn. Would you be kind enough to give me an example of how to accomplish this or point me in the direction of a tutorial(s) that will provide examples of what I would need to make this work?

One more thing actually…Would it be possible to allow the logged in user to submit their recipes without my having to authorized it … “if they have had a previous recipe authorized” ... much like the options work for comments found under “discussion” in “settings” in the admin panel of a wp site?
...or perhaps the user/subscriber could avoid admin having to authorized their recipe if there user role were bumped up to “contributor”?

to change font and color go to admin-panel -> food & cook -> typography -> widget title.
to change the text go to admin-panel -> food & cook -> footer customization. then enable custom footer.

Hello. Firstly, great theme! It’s beautiful. I am trying to make a few changes that I need some help with please.
I need to add some text to the blog pages from the main content area of those pages. I have a couple of static pages set with the page type “blog elegant” that I need to have show the intro text above the blog posts. I think I can add some code to the template-blog-elegant.php file, but I’m not sure what code to add or exactly where to put it. Could you please help?

to add intro text above the blog post, please find the following line in template-blog-elegant.php then just add your text between that code.

Ok cool. that worked. Another related question… Is it possible to have a different intro text show for different blog categories? I have three blog categories set as main menu items. I’m not sure if that the best way to set that up, but what I need to do is have those three categories of posts show up on their own pages under their own main navigation menu links. I also need each of those pages to show their own intro text above the blog posts so I can introduce that section of posts to the readers. Does that make sense? Is this possible?

there’s no option to do that in food & cook, but i can give you some guidance to change the code in the css. what is your website?
i’ve seen your website and you made pages to having intro text before blog posts. its a good idea, but when you have lots of posts there wont be any pagination there
Hi Dahz. Thanks for taking a look. That was one of my issues, plus the blog list only shows the title and not an excerpt.
I’ve reset the Gather and Lifestyle menu items to point to the category instead of a static page for those two. Could you look at this again and let me know if there is a way to get some intro text put in above the blog posts for the different categories like these? I’d love to be able to have the intro text, a proper listing of category blog posts, as well as the pagination.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how to display only certain recipes on a page. I have created the recipe type Betty Crocker and the taxonomy for that is betty-crocker-2. The page template I select is the default template and this is the shortcode, [recipe_grid post_page=”-1” orderby=”date” order=”desc” tax=”betty-crocker-2”].
But the page still displays all recipes and they even do not appear in the same way as another page which has the page template Recipes-grid
Can you tell me what i’m doing wrong here ?

I think there is a little bit of a misunderstanding here. What I need is for the images on this page, http://www.eldum.is/ to link to the recipe detail page. You have to click on the small image that appears on hover, I would just like the link to be on the whole image, not just the small icon.

Now I have my navigation bar on smartphones but it is a big mess in IE8 where display is like on smartphones… And still no pagination on recipies list pages…
Pagination is ok now (with style.css file of the last update). But display on IE8 is still as on smartphones : 1 column and a black navigation bar.
for IE8 issue, I cant find non-responsive.css in your adminpanel, so the site cant call it.

I think it happened when you solved my problem of display on smartphone. After that, I saw this black nav bar on smartphones that I didn’t saw after. But changes affected also IE8. Do you remerber which file you modifyed ? I prefer a non-responsive website on smartphones but a correct display on IE8 if I really have to choice.

On the recipe page template, I can’t get one of the recipe shortcodes ( [recipe_slider version=”1” orderby=”date” order=”asc” categories=”featured” tax=”recipe types”] ) to display images or work properly to display recipes in the “featured” category.
Is there something I’m missing for getting the shortcode recipe slider to display featured recipe images as its pulling recipes that aren’t even marked as “featured” or displaying photos for them.
Forgot to mention, the Blog template is also pulling all post types rather than only blog posts, and it’s showing lots of entries per page, how can I limit the amount of blog posts per page?

for your blog page, it happens because you have several of categories in each custom posts with the same name. but you can exclude the category from the theme options.

Yes, but the maximum is 20 and I will have a lot of recipies on my website so I can’t put all of them on the same page. There is an option to add pagination but it does not work :s

I just changed the css with files of the last update. I don’t want to change php files because of problems of translation :s
I changed the top ads but that is still the same in IE8 : a black navigation bar, the wrapper is on the whole width of the screen (so everything is stretched) and the right sidebar is on the bottom on the screen. All is as it was a smartphone in fact.

2.we use photoshop, but you need to create it by yourself.

the taxonomy slug is either recipe_types, cuisine, courses, skill_level, ingredient or calories. while category slug can be viewed when you edit your categories
for the heading, have you checked the difficulty settings? you can find it in the right sidebar of your recipe editor.

Is this theme localized so we can translate it into our language using .po and .mo file ! is there anything to get started ?
yes, we have .po file included in our package, please note that you will need to translate it manually. for further instructions you can read the ‘translation’ section of our documentation.
