I’ve noticed there’s been a couple of updates to the theme of late, but none of them have included the latest version of LayerSlider…?
When I read about the updates on LayerSlider I am thinking those updates could be the solution to a problem I am having (no matter what transition I choose, it goes from right -> left) which seems more related to LayerSlider than to Mana.

As I love the theme I am sorry to be a pain, but the update isn’t working (same error as KevinP_2012 below) and when I, after having updated the actual theme (but not the plugin), FTP down the layerslider.zip file to do a manual install (after deleting the plugin), it turns out it (LayerSlider) isn’t updated. I then downloaded the full themepack with all the files, extracted the layerslider.zip files and had a look in them, and yeah, they are still 5.0.0. Just thought you should know.
Here I have a few tips
1. (Recommended) Please try to install the plugin via TGM activator which noticing the version issue at top ( http://d.pr/i/kvGJ ). I’ve selected there Force activation but wondering why this doesn’t work well there.
2. If 1st step doesn’t work, you should use FTP installation. I don’t recommend this step but if 1st step doesn’t really work, you should use this step. This method’s benefit is we don’t lost slider data and configurations. Connect to your server via ftp client app and update/overwrite slider files.
3. The method that update your plugin from dashboard. You need to backup your sliders before do anything. And delete the plugin from Plugins menu. Then you refresh the page, you’ll see Top message as same as http://d.pr/i/kvGJ this. And activate it here.
3.b Activation doesn’t help you, you can install it manually. Plugin archive exists in “framework/Plugins” directory

All of that is known and done. I have updated the theme via TGM activator (it says I have 1.6.10, which I believe is the latest version).
I have tried all combinations of FTP or WP upload options. The main problem is that layerslider.zip in framework/Plugins folder is not updated. The second (but minor) problem is that the update plugin function says the URL is wrong (when it in fact is not).
I have downloaded the files from my server, unzipped them and uploaded them again to the wp-content/plugins folder after having deleted the plugin. It is not a new version.
I have downloaded the files from Themeforest. They don’t contain the new version.
That is the problem.
Please update the theme there. Latest 1.6.11 version has fix and exact LS version. I checked it myself. Thank you

It there a list somewhere where I can see all the icons that are available to use? .. I know I could probably go to the CSS but it would be nice if there was a list somewhere where I could all ready see it all being demoed

I updated to the latest version but the blog items’ order not displays correctly. I am not sure what order takes but it not takes “order by date” and others that I select. In the previous version it functions properly.
URL: http://www.serielaqueseavecina.com The “home page” is “slider + blog + portfolio”. The blog is configured to order the last 8 entries (without filter) by date, but as you can see, this setting not functions.

Recently theme updated with Random order option. But I did there simple mistake on version 1.6.8. And realized it in a day and updated it quickly. Please update the theme again to v1.6.9 then you’ll get what exactly you wanted to order

I’ve sent two tickets in but never got confirmations…so figure I’ll ask here too.
My sliders will not go full-width. I have everything set to full width in both my theme/page settings and in my rev slider settings. On my homepage, I have a white L-shaped margin on the top and right side of my site, and on my pages there is a white bar on the top under the main nav. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the response on the fitVids issue – I never did get it fixed, so had to give up on it in the end.
I’ve since installed Lightbox Plus, which is actually a better solution for what I was doing. I’ve managed to get the lightbox to work when showing images/video from text or images links within a page, but I can’t get the video to show within LayerSlider (maybe it’s the fitVids issue again??). Can you help?
For consistency, I’d also like to use the same lightbox to display images within posts and when I add them as an element through blox builder. How do I override the default lightbox?
I’d be grateful for your help.

You can see from this example page – the text and image links to the video display correctly (right frame & size) and it plays fine. The image link within the Layerslider opens the frame but fails to load the video.
Strangely, without changing anything, the image element now displays the image in the correct lightbox, but neither the image nor the text links show the image centred in the lightbox. Not sure, it may be an issue with the Lightbox Plus plugin??

Sorry, I have another couple of questions for you:
1) What code do I need to add to show the main navigation (without sticky functionality) on a page? I want to put the main nav on my homepage, but I want it to scroll with the page – is this possible?
2) Is there a way to change the logo graphic that shows on the sticky menu? My logo is quite wide, so needs to be modified when shown at the smallest size – is this possible?
3) Layerslider appears glitchy – so that the screen isn’t blank when paused by the user, I fade/remove graphics at the start of the next slide. Even though the graphics are supposed to be static when the slide loads, there is a flicker as it loads. I have double checked everything, and this issue occurs randomly, so I think it’s to do with the plugin/theme. Can you help?
4) Layerslider responsive issue – fonts appear very small when viewed on a mobile and do not scale to the same proportions as the rest of the slide (I am using ems for font size). Also the text positions move out of alignment (vertically), even though I am using a ‘layer container’ to maintain their positions. Any ideas?

1. V1.6.9 has non sticky option. http://d.pr/i/PAxP But it controls whole site. Let me know if it is important for specific pages.
2. Probably we add there custom style when it is fixed. There has a class called “stuck” on sticky menu. Therefore style would similar to following
#header.stuck #logo img { width:60px }
Don’t forget to use this style on Custom CSS field or child’s style file.
3. I suspect flickr too. I saw it loads heavily sometimes. Seems you need to replace our widget with different one that has time caching options. And we’ll update cache timer on the widget if that possible.
4. Why you can’t add some custom style for small resolutions on “ThemeOptions”=>”Custom CSS”=>”For Phone” ? That’s the purpose of it and it’s time to use this now Suggest you to use pixels (px) for your customization

There’s something strange going on…
I like to keep everything up to date, so normally update as soon as I see the notification. However no notifications, so didn’t realise my version was out of date – not sure how that happened?? Anyway, have updated to V1.6.10 – thank you!
Following update Layerslider requires update but fails each time due to ‘A valid URL was not provided’. I can see the zip file, but WP can’t – how can I fix? The update may help with the flicker…
Thanks for screenshot showing option for fixed nav – I actually only need it for specific pages, can you help with that?. Plus I do not have that option in my admin screen, nor do I have the options to enable the Search Box or Mobile Dark Skin. - Layer slider update issue fixed on v1.6.11. Hope you are updated there.
- Logo size : Fixed/sticky menu has a class name called “stuck”. We can bind some customization with it. Lets say, if you need to reduce your logo size on sticky bar, please use following style there
header.stuck #logo img { width:60px }
This style sets width of your logo image when your nav area sticky and 60 is a random number and needs to be lower than your original logo image width.
Also you can control height or custom logo image when on sticky. Let me know those kind of changes there.
- PrettyPhoto : There don’t need to additional plugin for that because theme source has PP library and includes proper places. Pointing class name on proper places such as extra class field and anchor tag attribute means allowing prettyPhoto option for the any custom parts.

Thanks for your response, but unfortunately it doesn’t answer any of my issues. Perhaps I am not being clear? The issues outstanding are below, if you could feedback on these ASAP, that would be great.
1. Layerslider update error- fixed, but still glitchy and will not load video correctly (as before).
2. Image linking to video in Layerslider will not load – you’ve seen the result with Lightbox. I deactivated Lightbox, but now I get a 404 page when I click the image. Also all the text links open the images in a new page (top, left aligned) and the videos opens to the full size of my window. I can’t see any reference to prettyPhoto.
3) I can’t find any info on how to use prettyPhoto in your documentation, so I assume this should recognise images/video and function automatically. This is not happening – if I need to add extra classes, please let me know.
4. I need to show a DIFFERENT logo image on the sticky menu – the issue I have cannot be fixed by changing the existing image size, although this might be helpful. How do I swap the image?
5. How do I show the main navigation (without sticky function) somewhere on my page? I’m sure this is easy, but there are a few classes, so I’m not sure which ones I need and which ones I don’t.
6. As explained, I DO NOT have the options shown in your screengrab. A grab of my options page was been added to the example page you looked at before – please let me know why I am missing options and how to fix this problem.
7. I do not get any notifications that the theme has an update – I only see this if I happen to check the Envato Toolkit page. Is there a setting that I’m missing somewhere??
8. There is an issue with the default button hover. Somebody raised this before, but you never responded. There seems to be no way to add or edit the button hover colour, which seems strange. I have explained the issue and added some examples to the sample page (link as before), please take a look and let me know how to fix. Even on your buttons demo page, it’s really hard to tell if any of the buttons do anything on hover (except Metro, 3D and the blue ones).

2. Seems this is very complicated issue. Because layerslider doesn’t provide us link attribute. It sets only on image. But prettyphoto works with link(anchor) and attribute. I’ve tried to find solution from LS discussion but couldn’t find anything.

1. The timing issue started after the last 2 updates – no idea what’s going on?? The timing was perfect and hadn’t been touched, as you saw, it’s now gone completely stupid and gets worse on each loop. Loop 2 starts before loop 1 clears the screen…?!
1.1 Flicker – you can actually see it in your screenr. Look at the shadow around the head, you can see when the head loads on the 2nd & 3rd slides (like they’re being overlaid) – the layers are set to visible with no animation on screens 2&3. The rest is mostly fine, but does occur randomly. You can also see it in the title at one point in your screenr – title in slide 3 loads larger than slide 2. No idea why as they are duplicates of the other.
I have uploaded the slider onto a white background (no idea why it’s not centering on a wide resolution?), so hopefully it’s easier for you to see what I mean. It’s the previous example, just with the layer numbers turned off (I put them on to try and figure out what was happening). It contains just 3 slides and loops x2 – but you will see that the timing goes even more crazy on the 2nd loop. If you can’t see how to fix it, maybe I should contact the author as I obviously can’t use it like that.

4. Yes, I guess an additional option would be awesome. Also the sticky menu icon displays using the page link/hover colours, not the menu text/hover colours – which seems odd? Is there anyway to change this?
5. I only need a non sticky menu on one page. Not to worry, maybe I can figure it out by turning the option on and seeing what code it chucks out?

7. That option is checked in my Themeforest account, always has been – I guess that’s an issue for Envato. I thought notifications also appeared on the Envato Toolkit link within WP – is that wrong?
8. You might want to look at the buttons on your demo site – most of them use color names that aren’t recognised in Chrome, FF & IE (see grab on example page). As you saw in my example (and on your demo), unless the button is the blue used on your demo page, nothing happens on hover (except possibly a darker outline?).

I found the small script problem that related another thing on your site. But it stops script execution and browser doesn’t reach prettyPhoto line. And I updated the theme recently. This version (1.7.1) helps you to achieve lightbox video (with a + img html code).
I have no idea about the image flickering issue on LS.
5. I’ve tried to add custom logo uploader here. But it is very complicated for me. Is there need retina version of it and how it look on retina and small resolutions … it raises so many questions and test.

I updated the theme and everything looks exactly the same All of the 8 issues above (except finding the option that I didn’t need) are still outstanding.
1. Layerslider is unusable 2. Lightbox doesn’t work for videos 3. No response to controlling sticky menu link/hover colours 4. No response to adding non-sticky menu to a page 5. Can’t edit sticky logo graphic – understandable as lots of work req’d 6. Button hovers only work when using the exact colours in your demo 7. No notification of theme updates

A just mean is there some functionality in one theme that is not in the other? It looks like Mana has more than Flatter.
Mana has many styling features and layouts such as header layouts and huge potential of page customization.
Flatter is much dedicated flat and clean design.

I have finished my site using Mana, however, I am unable to get the site as I have designed it to come up on my mobile devices unless I go to “full site.” It keeps going to the “Hello World” page which is now titled “Home.” Another question I have is why the font of the header will not show up on my mobile version either. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My web address is blueridgelifecoaching.com.
I suspect there have installed some plugin that inspects mobile devices and redirects to mobile version of your site. Please check your plugins and try again without additional plugins. And same suggestion with font issue too.
And you have to check htaccess and another configuration that might be causing this issue

In IE8 the videos dont play they just show up as black. The background image that is supposed to show up when the video fails also doesnt show up.

Suggestion for Top Bar: Option to show logged in user name that acts like an account menu where we can add pages for custom plugin pages like woocommerce.

When using a single page layout – is there Any way to have the portfolio items open the item details page and still return to the single page? Better yet: any way to force the portfolio items posts to display in the lightbox instead of moving to the separate page/navigation?
- Or any way of displaying a Vimeo/YouTube as a portfolio item?
There don’t have a possibility of lightbox details page. But you can show videos on lightbox by portfolio options

I like the theme, and I think it has a lot of potential, but is can be tricky to update.
As said before, if you use a different wordpress folder, then the theme breaks down the index/home/main link. I have to this over and over with every update

But if I put functions.php with my modifications the whole site is broken, how should I approach this?
Also in —framework/commonfunctions.php I added Addthis code to the share buttons, if I put a folder named framwork can I put a file named commonfunctions.php with the modifications?

Please just duplicate the file “framework/common-functions.php” (don’t forget the dash ”-”) on child theme and make your changes in it.
And add your function modification in functions.php with function_exists check as noticed here, http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

the plugins just works with the top navigation, but not with the primary -
Could you tell me what exactly your purpose?
If those are doable, I can give you some php tips/changes they are work without additional plugins and you can use them on your child theme.

Now, I need one more thing – the last one – Is there a possibility to make an on/off button for the logo on every page – I need different Logos for different pages …
At first I have tested with the Mana-Child, than nothing happens, but then I have changed the files in the Mana Theme framework – it works – I have the new option “Page menu” – but there are no menus to select – there is just the entry “Default (selected on primary” – what I have to do now?
Theme supports deep php files changes since 1.6.4. And current version is 1.6.6. Please check your version and update it first.
Then upload previous attached files into your child theme directory and activate it.
How many menus you’ve created out there? (under Appearance=>Menus) Also check your menus and add something at least one item. Empty menu won’t show up on page options

I have done everything you explained the theme is updated to the latest version, I have three menus under Appearance=>Menus with more than one item, but I just can select ““Default (selected on primary)” The files are in the Child theme and the child theme is activated?
I’ve added there “is_admin” check. Isn’t your user level admin? Please just remove and try again (framework/post-type/page-options.php http://d.pr/i/Lejh ). If it doesn’t help you, please send me your site address and login details via ticket.

Any idea when the subscribe options might be added, that could be a deal sealer for me! I notice there isn’t an ‘Add Raw HTML’ option to the BLOX editor, in the past these boxes are been pretty vital options. You can do it to an extent in the Text box, but typically it formats out some code when switching views.
