Hi Codestag, I really like this theme but could you tell me if I can make a static header for the home page (landing page) instead of the what i can see in your demo which is the latest post on the very top of the home page? many thanks!
Hi there. Nope, this is not possible unless you customize the theme. But you can create widgetized pages like this: http://demo.codestag.com/ink/widgetized-home/
thanks!
Thanks for the quick response Codestag! Just another couple of questions:
1. must all homepage posts be landscape?
2. Is it possible to make the blog post titles a different size font on the home landing page?
3. can the titles be ‘fade-in’ upon mouse hover?
4. according to demo homepage posts are a mix of 2 column and 1 column cover images, can i make it all 1 column?
5. Is there a disable ‘2 minute read’ function? (shown on homepage under title of each post)
6. Can I make a ‘sticky’ post to stay on the top of the homepage?
7. If i do not want to use the subscription/premium content functions. is it possible for me to hide all reference to subscription i.e. in the navigation panel, on the homepage footer. I want all content to be open and public.
thank you so much!
Hi,
1. Yes, but there are 4 different layout options as you see from the image at the theme’s description. Check the “Multiple homepage layouts” section.
2. Yes, but you need to tweak a couple of css lines. We may help at our support desk.
3. Nope, not without customizing the theme.
4. Yes, have a look at no.1
5. You can hide it by adding a simple css line at the custom css box under the customizer. You can help with that.
6. Yes.
7. Sure thing. Ink is a full-featured blog and does not require the Restrict content pro plugin to work as an open blogging. These references you talk about are just widgets. You can just choose not to use them
Let us know if you have other questions.
Thanks!
Hi! I’m in love with INK, but I was wondering if it has any other post type options, apart from the standard article? I’d like to put up quote posts and gallery posts that could be browsed already on the front page. Are these available or are you guys planning to implement them? Would be awesome! Thanks.
Hi there. Unfortunately nope. Only standard posts are supported for now. Thanks!
You guys have some of the best themes on here. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks
Truly appreciated!
Hi,
Great theme!
Quick question: how do I disable the ” x minute read” line underneath post titles?
Thanks!
Hi,
You can simply use .reading-time { display: none; } in custom css to hide that. If you have any more questions, please create a ticket on our support forum. Thanks.
Thanks!
hi, I have problems with “Load more post” ... My site is:

Hello, please open a ticket at our support desk at http://support.codestag.com as we provide detailed and more efficient support there. Thanks.
A steal of a deal and highly recommended to anyone on the fence about buying. The only feature I’d love to see integrated is form styling for opt in/newsletter/Mailchimp for list building purposes – to match the RCP styling incorporated with the theme. 5 stars – and our added comments below!
Beautiful design with great functionality – the integration with RCP transforms this from a beautiful blog…..into a a great looking and easy to monetize magazine for under $100…and in under an hour. Have needed a good excuse to buy one of their beautiful designs – and this purpose driven design and easy to monetize, built in marketing model made it easy.
Highly Recommended
Thank you very much for your feedback
Definitely puts a smile on our faces. Glad to see it’s working for you, and feel free to drop by our support desk at http://support.codestag.com anytime you need assistance or have any questions.
Cheers!
Hello Codestag team,
Wanted to give you shouts on your themes. Looks great.
My question is
For the Ink Theme – what size images do the main images have to be on the home page. I noticed they are quite big.
I have a site now where all my images are around 620×400 with in the posts.
I am afraid that if I use these images for the main home page it will be stretched and not look correct.
Is there a certain size the main images have to be in order to look correct.
Please let me know. Thanks
Hello, there is not a standard size for the images. For the demo, we use a width of 1200px. They should be big, naturally, but not huge.
Let us know if you have any further questions!
Hello, Thanks for your reply/. Would a 620×400 image look stretched set as an image on the main page? is there any way to test this? thanks
Yes, it would look a bit stretched, that’s for sure. You are going to need bigger image sizes or perhaps resize your existing ones in photoshop and apply some blur effects. That would do.
Thanks for your reply.
Hi Guys – the theme is awesome
Im having some trouble getting the “Load more posts’ function to work – is this a known issue or am i missing something very simple
http://www.supersimbo.com/Nope, it is not an issue. It should definitely work. Please open a ticket at our support desk at http://support.codestag.com as we provide detailed and more efficient support there. Thanks.
thanks Guys, did that earlier so just changed the priority on it to high – thanks
Sorry… To show the full demo content, where is the xml file to import and where do I import it ? Thanks
Nevermind… I Found it !

You’ve hit another one right out of the park guys! This is great work. Some pre purchase questions, if I may:
1. can the home page be a combination of some widgetized elements AND the default latest posts masonry grid?
2. once logged in, the user has access to the wordpress dashboard. Can this be restricted so the user can only see the front end site?
3. is there an option to make the Author Page posts grid as well as the Related Posts grid full width layout instead of two columns?
Thanks guys! Again, stellar work!
Hi there
1. I’m afraid no. Not without a significant amount of customization.
2. If you are referring to the Restrict Content Pro integration, once the user logs in, he does not see the dashboard. If you are talking about default WordPress user login, then I suggest that you find a plugin that restricts users only to the front end.
3. Again, not without a significant amount of customization.
Let us know if you have any other questions!
Thanks!
1. So, we have to choose either the widgetized homepage OR the default post grid homepage?
2. Once logged into your demo, I could click on Dashboard in the User Toolbar and was brought to the wp admin dashboard.
3. Cool. Perhaps keep it mind for a future update.
Thanks for the info!!!
1. Yes. And just to let you know that there are 4 grid layout options.
2. Oops, you are absolutely right. However, using any of the plugins similar to this: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-admin-bar-node-removal/ would easily solve the issue. It actually hides the admin bar, to every user except admins.
Thanks!
Either way, if you do not want to rely on a plugin, you can use this code to achieve the same thing:
if (!current_user_can(‘administrator’)): show_admin_bar(false); endif;
Good little strip of code. Thanks. Of course, though, without a visible admin bar, the user would have no idea that if he is logged in or not, right?
Hmmm. I don’t think so, but this is more of a Restrict Content Pro thing, and not theme related. Perhaps you should take a look at the plugin’s website and see if you can work things out. It is quite powerful and extremely well coded. Here’s the link: http://pippinsplugins.com/restrict-content-pro-premium-content-plugin/
Hi, very unusual simple strong theme! I have two questions.
1) Can I add Search button (f.e. next to the Menu button)?
2) Will the theme support Latin Extended without bugs (czech lang.)?
Thank you for your answer. I submit this theme to my boss and I hope he allow to use this one.
Hello there
You cannot add a search next to the menu icon, but you can do this in the side drawer, where all the other widgets are.
You just need to find a google web font that supports Latin Extended, then it should work without problems.
Thanks!
Okay, thanks. Maybe the Search button can be included to ‘todo’ list to the next update. :))
UPDATE
Just to let everyone know that an update has just been approved that allows background video covers, like this one: http://codest.ag/BgVideoCover
Thanks!
Hi, LOVE This theme.. about to purchase. Just wondering if the blog can have a header with a static LINK to main site… or a static post that always appears on top of page..Would appreciate fast reply.. thanks
Hi,
I’m not sure what you mean with if header can have a static link to main site, but logo or menu should be way to go?
For sticking a post on top of page, you can make use of “Sticky Posts” feature under WordPress – http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
Let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks
this is sick! stunning!
Thanks
Hi, I’m having a little bug issue. In the demo version the icon for menu shows as three horizontal lines, and the icon for scrolling down shows a downward arrow. However on my theme both are shown as a blank square. Am I missing an image somewhere? I installed the “ink.zip” theme and everything else seems to work fine.
Also—can you please explain if there is a way to change the alpha/tint of the photos on the featured images (along with the homepage photos as well)? I’d like them to be a tad brighter. Thank you!
Oops, looks like I fixed the box problem – had to install all the plugins.
Still would like to know how to change the alpha/opacity on the images. Thanks!
Did you try the background settings as indicated here in the documentation – http://docs.codestag.com/ink#custom-background-settings ?
Hi Codestag,
Big fan of your work – I already own Raiden and Shift. Could I ask a couple of Qs please?
- Is infinite scrolling supported?
- On the iphone, when clicking in one of the fields to leave a comment, the field/box zooms in slightly, which ‘breaks’ the fixed nature of the responsive view, and allows scrolling left and right. This isn’t the case on Shift (and possibly Raiden). Possible to fix this?
- Also on the iphone, the scroll down arrow is slightly off the screen as it doesn’t take into account the header/nav bar of the browser (see photo). Can this be tweaked?
http://postimg.org/image/ot7qd734d/
Many thanks as ever. cheers
Hey there,
Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it.
Yes, infinite scroll is supported.
There is a way to fix the zoom behaviour with a little CSS, we’ve already added it in Ink and would tweak it in next update. If you need it, there is a very simple tweak that works universally :
input, textarea { font-size: 16px; }
- There is a very small tweak to this too, it would simply height the address bar of the browser, resulting in correct window height. You just need to replace the existing viewport tag to the following:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, minimal-ui">
Please note that it works in iOS7.1 only.
We’ll be adding both the tweaks by default in next update
Many thanks! I look forward to the update and then I’ll dive right in!
I’ve got some time coming up soon to be able to set the site up.
I also noticed, when on mobile and you open the menu, if you click the cross to close it again the screen flashes – is that expected behaviour?
Thanks!
Nope. It is not. Please open a ticket at http://support.codestag.com and we will look into it.
Thanks!
I’m probably missing something very obvious … but where do I find infinite scroll? All the recommended plugins installed. Thanks!
Hi there. There is not infinite scroll. Where did you see that? It is definitely not at the demo…
Nowhere! Though I guess that leads to my next Q:
What do you mean by “Yes, infinite scroll is supported.”?

Hi again. I just sorted it out with the guy from our team who replied to you when you asked if infinite scroll was supported.
So, here is the case: Infinite scroll was initially supported and it was powered by Jetpack. But on the way, we found that there were several issues with the Jetpack plugin, and we decided to drop the support.
In this case I would advise you to look for a plugin for infinite scrolling, like http://wordpress.org/plugins/infinite-scroll/
In any case, if you face any issues or need assistance, please open a ticket at http://support.codestag.com and we will guide you through.
Thanks!
Hi, I’m considering purchasing this theme, but before I do, I would like to know:
1) Is it possible to categorize the posts and include those categories in the menu? 2) If that is not included, would I be able to add that function myself with reasonably straightforward custom coding? 3) I can add my own logo, correct?
Thanks!
Hi,
Yes, to all. Here’s an example of category archive page – http://demo.codestag.com/ink/category/travelling/
Let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks
Can I just quickly ask, in mobile view all the images are very small (with the body of the text) is there a way to make them large and fit the full width of the page?
Hi, we need more info on this. As said at a previous comment, please use our support desk at http://support.codestag.com and open a ticket providing more details and a link to your site. However, try using the Jetpack plugin’s tiled galleries (like we do at the demo).
Thanks.
No probs will do
Just added – hope I made sense
Hi Codestag :) Just to let you know I have purchased this awesome theme, apologies if you think I was being critical before, not at all, just like to take my time before making a decision, I do have a few minor questions but I’ll leave those for a while until I have installed and tested, some of my ideas may need a little help from you so it can be tweaked :)
Have you any plans for any further updates/releases any time soon, and if so could I ask what they may be please so I can plan them in to my build?
Cheers Rich

Awesome thanks bud, will check out the update, any further updates planned soon? Just would love to know what you may have planned
No further plans for now. We will act accordingly based on the feedback from our users. Thanks!
Hi there, Two questions: 1- How do I set the default view mode for mobile devices to full-site and not the mobile version? 2- How do I upload a custom logo? What file format, dimensions etc? I’ve tried uploading .jpg and .PNG files but they do not appear on the site.
Thanks,
Hello
Please open a ticket at our support desk at http://support.codestag.com and we will guide you in detail there. The logo should work both for jpeg and png, but we will see what went wrong at your site.
Make sure when you open a ticket that you include admin login details and a url to your site. The tickets are private, you can safely post them there.
Thanks!
