Hi Leo,

I purchased the Eternity – Responsive Wedding Wordpress Theme, but have a feeling something may not have installed properly as it looks nothing like the demo (or perhaps I just have no idea what I’m doing which is very likely!).

Would you mind taking a look? www.campmcgallant.com.

Thanks!

All that shows currently is this: Your Name (required) [text* your-name]

Your Email (required) [email* your-email]

Subject [text your-subject]

Your Message [textarea your-message]

[submit “Send”]

Read through all comments and realized the XML file hadn’t downloaded properly – just downloaded it and everything that was missing is now there. Problem solved. Thanks again!

Haha, that’s great. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello, I love the theme, and almost have it working the way I want however, I have a few issues.

1) the navigation bar is not showing all the time (most of the of the time i am seeing a black bar, that says “navigation” as if it was on mobile. The only time i am seeing the side-bar is if I zoom out (i am on a 15” macbook pro) alot of the other people going to the site, cannot see the side bar either, Please help!

2) is there a way to use a different photo viewer rather than the one built in? The way that the images are being displayed on the site, are all different size, i was wondering if there was a different gallery I can use to show them all more uniformily.

3) is there an easy reference of all of the short codes available?

Thanks so much for all of your help! Keep up the good work

www.dave-and-sara.com for reference if you need to see the issues.

Hi @davefilm,

Thanks for the purchase and your comment. Please see the answer to your questions below.

1) The site is responsive, therefore it will change the view based on the device the user is on. This is by design and not a bug. With that being said, you can alter the media queries breakpoint if you wanted for the menu to show on smaller screens – the media queries are found in the file called media-queries.css.

2) There could be though the theme currently supports the clearing gallery from Zurb’s Foundation framework. Instead of considering another photo viewer, may I suggest cropping the images you have to all be consistent? If you do this you will see that the grid will align these perfectly in the same way as the live preview. The recommended dimensions are in the documentation for your reference.

3) There is references to the shortcodes within the documentation. Did you have a specific shortcode you cannot find? Let me know if so.

Thanks again,

Leo

Thanks, Can you please walk me through adjusting this on the media-queries.css, i’m not sure where to find that and what setting i should change to increase (?) the breakpoint. The breakpoint is so high that the menue doesnt even show on my macbook pro.

Hi Dave,

As the macbook pro is not part of my testing suite it is a bit difficult for me to tell you exactly what breakpoint you need to use.

Please note, this would be a considered a custom request as it is outside of what you see on the demo site.

With that being said, you would need to increase/decrease the @media attributes to match up exactly with the look that you want. What I would suggest is you play around with the em values.

Note that you will also need to update some of the other selectors to hide or show the elements you want.

Thanks,

Leo

What is the best way to update to the latest version of the theme?

Also if I put anything in as a Site Title. It shows up twice.. for example if site title is Default. When i’m on the home page the title in the browser says . DefaultHomepage – Default

Lastly it looks like the menu stopped working.. It just reloads the main page. How do I get it to go to the sections of the page again?

Hi @ippikiokami,

Can you send me a link to your site and I’ll take a look? Can you confirm if you have updated the theme to version 1.5?

Thanks,

Leo

Hi!

I love the theme but I have a question! I thought me and my fiancee were not going to have a Photos section. We have sent out the invitations with the link to the website, and we have decided we want the photos to be there. The problem is I have removed the ‘photos’ section in the Menus. If i add a new menu, what do I have to write in it to link to the Photos?

Thanks

Hi @APMoGraph,

Thanks for your comment.

Yes, you can definitely add the Photos section again. Just create it as a page first, then add it through the menu section in the location you desire. Once you have this setup, add the Photos you want within the custom post type section, you’ll need to add the title and set a featured image for each. Lastly, just add the shortcode to your Photo page.

You will now display all the photos which you publish.

If you need further clarification on the above just let me know.

Thanks,

Leo

Thank you! I was just wondering where I can get the shortcode for the photos from?

Here you go:

[chills_photo_gallery]
And if you want it in a grid, here use this:

[container class="small-12 columns"]
[chills_photo_gallery]
[/container]

Thanks,

Leo

@ThemeChills

Actually I think I know what’s going on with my map issue, the style I used is from the JSON text you generated previously and that’s still using the old address. Can you generate a new JSON string for me using this address 85 North Kihei Road · Kihei, Maui, Hawaii 96753?

You help is much appreciated!

Just figured it out, it’s the shortcode ID :P

Awesome, thanks for letting me know

Hi, I tried to update the google map location under the RSVP form, but it still sticks to the old location in Spain. Do you know what I did wrong? Here is the location map shorcode.

[google-map-v3 shortcodeid=”d58cc99982” width=”100%” height=”500” zoom=”18” maptype=”roadmap” mapalign=”center” directionhint=”false” language=”en” poweredby=”false” styles=”WyB7ICJmZWF0dXJlVHlwZSI6ICJyb2FkIiwgInN0eWxlcnMiOiBbIHsgImh1ZSI6ICIjZmYzMzAwIiB9LCB7ICJnYW1tYSI6IDAuODIgfSwgeyAidmlzaWJpbGl0eSI6ICJvbiIgfSwgeyAic2F0dXJhdGlvbiI6IDYyIH0sIHsgImxpZ2h0bmVzcyI6IC03IH0gXSB9LHsgImZlYXR1cmVUeXBlIjogInBvaSIsICJzdHlsZXJzIjogWyB7ICJodWUiOiAiI2ZmMDAwMCIgfSwgeyAibGlnaHRuZXNzIjogMTQgfSBdIH0seyAic3R5bGVycyI6IFsgeyAiaHVlIjogIiNmZjAwMDAiIH0gXSB9IF0=” maptypecontrol=”false” pancontrol=”false” zoomcontrol=”true” scalecontrol=”false” streetviewcontrol=”false” scrollwheelcontrol=”true” draggable=”true” tiltfourtyfive=”false” enablegeolocationmarker=”false” enablemarkerclustering=”false” addmarkermashup=”false” addmarkermashupbubble=”false” addmarkerlist=”20.784552,-156.46562{}1-default.png{}The Ceremony” bubbleautopan=”false” distanceunits=”km” showbike=”false” showtraffic=”false” showpanoramio=”false”]

For those of you looking for a countdown (particularly @angelmake88) here is what I did:
I installed the free plugin called Uji Countdown.
I created a countdown with the following options:
Name: Wedding Countdown
Size: Small
Alignment: Center
Display time label text: Checked

I then added it above my RSVP form on the RSVP page. The code on the RSVP page looks like this:
[container class="small-12 large-10 large-centered columns"]
[ujicountdown id="Wedding Countdown" expire="2015/06/06 15:00" hide = "true"]
[contact-form-7 id="141" title="RSVP"]
[/container]

It didn’t align correctly because of the container on the RSVP page and it messed up the width of the page in mobile view, so I added this CSS so that the Minutes and Seconds blocks would drop below the Days and Hours in mobile view and that it would align properly in full view:

#ujiCountdown {
width: 220px !important;
padding-left:0 !important;
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 26em) {
    #ujiCountdown {
        padding-left:10px !important;
        width:390px !important;
    }
}

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need any help.

Edit:
Here are links to screenshots of what it looks like:

@ThemeChills, feel free to incorporate this code into your theme if you are allowed to use the countdown plugin.

Thanks for sharing @prahlm93 :)

I have downloaded the XML but there are no photos in the gallery?

This shows on the photos page -

container class=”small-12 columns” [/container]

But I can’t see anywhere in the documentation how to set up a gallery? Only how to add a photo ?

Please can you help?

sorry it says [chills_photo_gallery] in between

HI @Louiemac,

Have you watched the video in the docs? Why don’t you send me your login credentials to your website, this way I can identify how it is setup and what needs tweaking. You can private message me these details – my email address is found in the docs as well.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Leo

How do you get the rsvp form exactly like on the demo site?

The contact form provided only has this?

Your Name (required)
[text* your-name]

Your Email (required)
[email* your-email]

Subject
[text your-subject]

Your Message
[textarea your-message]

[submit “Send”]

Thanks in advance.

Hi Leo, I downloaded the .xml file but this was all that was in the contact form ?

Can you just copy of paste from the correct contact form for me? thanks

I suspect the demo content hasn’t uploaded. Yes, I sure can – private message me as I stated above and we can go from there. I’ll add it in directly for you.

Thanks,

Leo

Just purchased your theme. How do you get the date and venue to come up below the header image as like in the demo. I have also added an image for the title but I seem to have a white line above and below? How do I get rid of this?

http://prntscr.com/484lp1

Hi Leo, scrap this. Can you let me know how to change the header above the image from white to another colour? Also is there an option to change the font for each of the names? I want to recreate this .

http://prntscr.com/484x2q

Hi @Louiemac,

Thanks for the purchase.

So just to confirm you got the date and venue to show as you wanted it to? and have you fixed the white lines you were talking about? Because you mentioned to scrap this, that is where the confusion is, so let me know.

With regards to your other questions, all this can be customized through the style.css file. What you would need to do is find the specific selectors you want to update and change these as required. With the fonts, you would need to reference these through the PHP code directly. Is this what you were wanting?

Thanks again,

Leo

How do I add a photo behind the navigation bar on the right like you have in the preview?

Hi @crowinno31,

You can add a background image behind the side navigation by clicking Media > Easy Backstretch within your admin section. You then need to upload the images you want to transition and assign the Backstretch Element DIV to the aside element. You can also find how this is done within the documentation file.

Note you will need to have installed the Easy Backstretch plugin, otherwise the above will not be visible.

Thanks,

Leo

Ah ok thanks. I will give it a try!

Hi there Leo, we love the theme and it’s coming together great on our website! Thanks again for your excellent work on this, it’s worth every penny!

Is there a way for us to turn on of the pages into a blog page? Would love to give small updates and stories as our work on the wedding proceeds and our plans come together. Is this something that the theme supports?

Hi @tjbillo,

This happens because the theme is a one page theme. You will see that it uses the front-page.php functionality which differs from your typical blog themes.

Hope that clears things up.

Thanks,

Leo

Hi Leo, I’m afraid it doesn’t… Right now, the blog has been added to the Appearance > Menus list, but it’s not actually showing on the one-page Home page. When accessing the page directly, I also can’t get the Posts content to appear here either. So I think the changes are simple configuration ones: I just need to get the posts onto the Blog page, and the Blog page back on the Home page… Can you provide direction on how to do this?

Hi @tjbillo,

Have you created the blog section as a category or a page? Please create it as a category, then assign all blog posts (or the ones you want) to it.

Once you do this the Blog section should appear with the corresponding blog posts.

Thanks,

Leo

Hello Leo, good day!

It’s a great theme! The setting was very quiet.

Now I have a little problem. I turned the pages bridesmaids and groomsmen in “Padrinhos Civil and Padrinhos Religioso”. In “Padrinhos Civil” have only 3 couples, just 3 photos and 3 slides. In “Padrinhos Religioso” we have 12 couples, just 12 photos and 12 slides. And I realized that only 10 slides appear on the site, even setting up to 12 slides.

This is the current configuration page:

row class=”row” chills_flexslider include=”507,203,202,187,520,515,508,517,522,550,560,301” [/row]

Have ventured for some files of pluguins, making small changes to try to figure out how to change it but could not. Then I come to ask your help. Where can I change the number of slides to 12 slides showing?

Sorry for the English, is google translator.

Thank you!

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your question – Google translator did a good job :)

Yes, you can change the number of slides that display by going into your Settings > Reading then change the number of posts that show from 10 to the number you need. I’d go to 20 in your case should you add more.

Thanks again,

Leo

Wow, it’s Fantastic!

Easy to do! Many thanks Leo!

Is there any way for our guests to leave comments for us? Type after the gifts …

Att,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Glad you got it working :)

Re leaving comments, the theme does support comments in the Blog section. If you wanted to add a comments area under the Gifts section, perhaps you may need to look at a third party solution.

There could be a plugin such as Disqus for WordPress or even Facebook’s commenting system that may work. I have not tested this therefore you may need to tinker with and see how you go.

Thanks,

Leo

Pre-sale question:

Can I have the mobile be sticky and always stay on the top? It currently disappears as soon as you scroll down.

Thanks!

Hi @woodz51,

Great question and the answer is yes, you sure can. All you will need to do is update the corresponding property to be position fixed vs relative. It’s a very simple change.

You can always ask me if you have any issues with it.

Thanks,

Leo

I’m having an issue with the menu. The links on it just goes back to my main page and not the sections of the pages itself

Hi @ippikiokami,

Send me the URL you are on and I’ll take a closer look for you. You can private message me the address if you don’t wish to post it here.

Thanks,

Leo

Hi Leo,

Another question for you: When I click a link with a /#rsvp for instance, where it auto-scrolls to the correct location on the page, it tends to load the page and scroll before the image loads, which makes the position at which the page has scrolled to wrong. (This happens when loading a link to a specific part of the page from a new tab, not clicking on the menu itself).

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks, Brett

Hi Brett,

I don’t quite understand what you mean. Can you send me through your link and walk me through your process so I can reproduce the issue?

Thanks,

Leo

Hi Leo—I messaged you the address on facebook.

Got it and replied, thanks.

Hello again!

It seems I’ve messed up the bridesmaid slides… I was trying to get my pictures the same size as the sample ones and ended up deleting the code in the bridesmaid page and then pasted the groomsmen code hoping it would be the same effect… help!

Thanks in advance ;) Claire

Hi Claire,

All good. You can find the ID’s by going to your slide, hover on the name of one of your Groomsmen/Bridesmaids text links, then if you are in Chrome for example, you will see on the bottom left hand corner something that looks like this…

http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=301&action=edit

The 301 would be the ID in this case, for you it will be different. This is the number that you decide to include or exclude, based on what you choose.

In terms of your wedding parties names – as you will see from the theme demo, the actual names are in the description. Therefore you can add them there. If you wanted to display these diffferently you would need to customize the theme.

Re the photos section, all you will need is this shortcode

[container class="small-12 columns"]
[chills_photo_gallery]
[/container]

That will add the container classes and reinstate the photos as long as they are published.

Thanks,

Leo

P.S: I would love it if you could rate the theme Claire, thanks in advance.

Leo! Thanks so much, great feedback, quick, and so patient haha. The site looks amazing! Can’t wait to show it off. Thanks again. Off to give you five stars!

You’re awesome and thanks for the fantastic feedback!

Hello Leo!

Loving the site so far, although I am having a hard time figuring some of the aspects out.

I made a google maps short code but it does not have the opaque coloring over it – nor is it the size of the sample you provided.

Also how do I delete the meal choices under RSVP as well as change the RSVP by date?

Additionally, once a person fills out their RSVP info, how do we receive it? Via the wordpress or email..?

Here’s the link to my site: http://danandclairewedding.com

Thanks so much! Claire

Hi Claire,

Thanks so much for the purchase and for your great feedback.

Please find the answers to your questions below.

Re Google Map, if you click on the Google Map menu item in the admin screen you will find all the documentation which will explain exactly how to customize the map. This will include things such as styling, width, height, etc.

Re RSVP, all details can be changed through the Contact menu item. Then click on the form you wish to edit (there should only be one unless you have added your own). If you wanted to remove the meal choices for example you can delete the <fieldset class=”rsvp-meal-choice”> markup. The date can also be changed from here.

Re receiving the email, the form is submitted through the WordPress platform but will be sent to the email address you specify under the required settings – this is also found in the Contact section of the admin screen. Specifically under the Mail module.

Hope that clears things up.

Thanks again,

Leo

Ahh this is awesome! Such a sophisticated site ! Thanks again.

Thank You!

question: can this be removed “© 2014 ETERNITY / BUY IT ON THEMEFOREST ETERNITY POWERED BY THEMECHILLS.COM”

Hi @cgoeseke,

Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, the copyright disclaimer can be removed or updated, the choice is yours.

Thanks again,

Leo

Hi @ThemeChills,

I can’t find the walkthrough-video in the documentation file. Where is that located? My zip-file is only 3,5mb. Seems to be very small to include a video…

Best regards and thanks for your support. Julian

Hi Julian,

Thanks for purchasing the theme and your comment.

You will find the video within the documentation directory in your main download. It is a YouTube embed.

Let me know if you still can’t find it.

Thanks again,

Leo
