Recently got this theme and I just love it. Great work!
Great, thank you!
Hello, can u add sidebar widget for “Random Post” ? Currently I’m using your “Latest Post” widget, and i like it because the thumbnail showed perfectly.
my website : surgakuliner.com
Hello,
Have you searched a plugin for that? Here’s one I found with a quick search: http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-random-posts-widget/ I’m pretty sure you’ll find a good one
Does this theme still work with the latest version of Wordpress? 3.7.1? If not, are you will to put out an upadte? I may switch back to it if it does.
Hello,
Yes, this theme works with the latest version
If I may ask, how come height (80 pixels) matters, but width does not? Does the theme put into the correct proportion? Want to make sure my blog title / logo all fits in at the top of the page. Cheers!
It matters because of the navigation, which is 80 pixels high. When the logo is also 80 pixels high, they align perfectly.
Hi there, I’m setting up a personal blog and have bought your theme. I really want to have a specific blog title font / logo at the top – what do I need to do? Create something in photoshop? If so, in what dimensions? Cheers!
Hello!
Logo image height should be 80 pixels, width can be anything.
Create the image for example in Photoshop and upload it in the Theme Options.
Great I’ll give that a shot, thanks.
Hello! I’m having some problems with placing a banner onto the site with this theme. It seems to be automatically “resizing” my banner so that the quality appears different/blurred slightly. Please take a look: www.di-amore.com/wordpress. Direct link of banner image: http://www.di-amore.com/images/dia_banner.png
How can I fix this? Thank you so much for your time!
I was wondering if you could help with the setup of the InfiniteScroll plugin by Paul Irish with your theme. I’ve tried looking at the code and using different CSS selectors, but they aren’t working. I would really appreciate any help you can provide. Here is what the plugin is looking for…
-Div containing your theme’s content -Div containing your theme’s navigation -Link to next page of content -Div containing an individual post
Thanks for a great theme !
Hello,
Sorry, I don’t have any experience on that plugin. I’m sure it should work with this theme, however.
13 Errors, 5 warning(s)
Not W3C Validated
Most of the errors are from rel attributes. Some of them are WordPress category links, where WordPress automatically adds rel=”category tag”. Other rel attributes are only in the demo site, used for the demoing purposes. These are not critical errors.
If there would be some critical errors the theme wouldn’t be accepted on ThemeForest
Yes, but Seo Check tell me that if is not W3C Validated it’s more difficult to obtain SEO results.
Just focus on your content and you will get the best SEO results
Hello, I’m trying use the contact page template. However, no matter what, every page I have has the option to leave a comment. It makes the contact page look a little strange. Is this just me, or is this the way the template is coded?
Hello,
You should disable commenting on the contact page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments
Hi,
I’m using v1.1.2 and noticed when I post a long URL/link it does not wrap within the post column, and overlaps the widget sidebar.
Hi,
Could you send me the address of your site via the contact form at my profile page. Thanks!
Done – thanks for the prompt response.
Hi,
I just updated from Wordpress 3.5.1 to Wordpress 3.5.2. My twitter widget disappeared in my sidebar and I am now unable to do any type of editing to my widgets / sidebar via wp-admin/widgets.php. No clicking, no dragging and dropping, etc.
I’ve already cleared my cache… Seems to be an issue with your theme.
Please advise
Hello,
Twitter has retired the API, which the widget is using. At the moment it looks like I will have to remove the Twitter widget on the next version. There seems to be no legitimate ways to continue using these kind of widgets.
Here’s more information: https://dev.twitter.com/blog/api-v1-is-retired and https://dev.twitter.com/terms/display-requirements
I have had no problems with the widgets editor after the update. I just tested with a couple of browsers, and everything works perfectly. Could you try to change the theme to something else, and then back to Float?
Hello.. I’m having trouble trying to reposition the post date/comments so that it appears by the left side of the post (example:http://themeforest.net/item/quarter-responsive-wordpress-blogging-theme/full_screen_preview/4103632?ref=lamdang”
If anyone could provide any pointers that would be awesome!! Thank you
Hello,
That’s quite heavy customization, which is beyond the support I can provide. If you aren’t familiar with CSS and HTML, maybe you should contact some freelance web designers etc.
Hi!! I really want to buy this theme, however I have some quick questions before making any purchases.
1) Can I add a banner at the top of the page? 2) Are the button link/navigation fully customizable? i.e Can I change the ”//” in between the links? 3) Am I able to change the format and positioning of the date on the posts?
Thank you for getting back to me!!
Hello,
1) Yes, you can add a banner.
2) Yes, the navigation is fully customizable.
3) Date format can be easily changed in the WordPress settings. Changing the position requires knowledge of PHP.
Let me know if you need help with the theme, if you’ll buy it
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I’M SOLD!
I have some UI problems. I can’t drag and drop widgets to the sidebar and I can’t do anything (clicks doesn’t work) in ”/wp-admin/customize.php” when i’m using this template. Other templates works fine. I tried different browsers, nothing changed. My WP version is 3.5.1
Hello,
I just tested with the demo site, and everything works perfectly. Sounds like the problem is related to JavaScript somehow.
You could send me a mail via my profile page, and I’ll try to help you
It was happening because of our servers javascript limitations. We fixed it. Thanks.
That’s good
Loving your theme… simple but eyecatching.
I’m having a problem with my menu. It is showing up to the right of my logo and I have not touched the code. http://lifewithafuture.comThank You
Hello,
That’s where the menu should be. Take a look at the demo – http://live.bobosh.com/float/
Maybe you should make the logo smaller?
Sorry for the late answer
Doesn’t work with WP 3.4.2.
Getting this error in admin panel after theme install:
It looks like the updated Theme Options framework requires at least WordPress 3.5. Can you update your install to 3.5?
Updated to WP 3.5.1, works fine.
But.
“Analytics” and “Custom CSS” fields do not save correctly: any special character is escaped before it’s saved to database. For example, ”>” becomes “>”, and therefore do not work. Had to modify “custom_sanitize_textarea” function to fix this.
When this bug will be fixed? Almost a month passed, still no answer?
Also, with WP_DEBUG enabled single post page gives these error notices:
Notice: Undefined variable: aria_req in D:\tmp\butterfly-lantern.local\butterfly-lantern.ru\wp-content\themes\float\comments.php on line 35 Notice: Undefined variable: aria_req in D:\tmp\butterfly-lantern.local\butterfly-lantern.ru\wp-content\themes\float\comments.php on line 39
Hello,
I’m really sorry for the late answer.
What kind of changes did you make to the “custom_sanitize_textarea” function? Could you send a mail via my profile page.
The other issue can be fixed in comments.php file by adding this line:
$aria_req = ( $req ? " aria-required='true'" : '' );
Before this line:
$defaults = array( 'fields' => apply_filters( 'comment_form_default_fields', array(
This will be fixed in the next version. Thanks a lot for letting me know
Hi!
I recently came back to purchase this theme and have enjoyed it so far-but I’m wondering if there’s a quick way to get an ‘edit’ command available from the front end for a post’s author/admin? I often copy-paste previous posts’ content for posts that are similar and used to be able to do this right from the front page in my previous theme-so it’s become something of a habit, and now it’s an extra step or two since I can only do so from the admin bar now. Is there any way to get ‘Edit’ to display with the post meta, for example?
Hello!
You’re right, it’s not currently possible. I will take a look at this, and perhaps add the edit link to the next version.
Thanks for your feedback, enjoy the theme!
And I can’t tell if I’ve disabled this myself somehow in the theme and forgotten or if it was never there to begin with, but is there a way to have the author name display in the metadata at the top (like with the date and whatnot)? I’ve disabled the author bio, because I don’t care to have the bio show, but I’d like to have the author name at least still display on an unobstrusive location.
It also will be added to the next version. Thanks again!
Awesome, looking forward to it
Hello. I’m seeing the following recurring message on my website, http://www.kanefulton.com
Fatal error: Theme CSS could not load after 20 sec. Please download the latest theme at http://galleria.io/customer/.
As you’ll see, I’ve modified a lot of the theme and don’t intend to update it, as it’s serving my needs. Do you know how I can stop this message from showing? It doesn’t seem to be affecting the site’s performance or breaking how it looks. Thanks.
I guess that galleria thing is some kind of plugin you are using? Can’t really help you with that.
Not quite. The error is coming from the SlickrFlickr which comes integrated with your theme.
SlickrFlickr doesn’t come integrated with the theme.
The Flickr widget of the theme is using the API of Flickr to display the photos. SlickrFlickr is a plugin you have installed yourself.
Hi! I’m really considering purchasing this theme, but my only sticking point is that there’s no full-width layout available (I could make a full-width template with some effort, but since the background for the primary content is a fixed-width background image, it wouldn’t look perfect). Is there any such option, or are you considering it?
It’s not a deal-breaker, but it’s definitely something that would make this a perfect purchase.
Hello!
There’s no option for full-width template, and there are no plans to add it.
There are two background images that would require editing: hentry.jpg, respond.jpg. I can help you with those, if needed
Since I feel confident I could make the template myself, the background images are all that I would need help with, so if I decide to purchase, I’ll be sure to drop a note. Thanks for making a great theme
One more quick question—I see that the archive pages for the categories don’t show any of the images associated with a post, but rather just a small, non-formatted excerpt. Is this typical, or can the category display pages be adjusted to look more like those on your other theme ‘Grunge’?
I have short posts and rarely use the ‘read more’ code, so I’d like for my category pages to be really easily browsable (they are right now), with all images and formatting retained as if they were being read from the standard front page.
There’s an option for that. You can select the excerpt, or the default style, like on the homepage.
Here’s a screenshot of the Theme Options: http://themeforest.net/theme_previews/2635174-float-responsive-blog-theme?index=1Can you add FoodSpotting.com to the social links? Perhaps in the next version you could give the option to add a custom social link, and simply define the URL to the icon and the URL to the social page.
Keep up the great work.
I will probably add it to the next version.
