really wish there was a way to get rid of the typography so it only displays the image
You can easily hide the typography by adding some custom css.

Hi, Is there anyway to add a static cover photo to the top of the homepage instead of having it be a post? I don’t mean a static homepage. I would still like the rest of my posts to show on the homepage.
Hi there, nope, there is no way to achieve this out of the box without customizing the theme files. However you can achieve a similar effect by using a widgetized page.

New website finished using this awesome theme: http://www.kristofdevos.com
Thanks guys!
Great work Kristof. Truly beautiful. Thanks!
I need the blog page to auto scroll to the content area when the blog is opened.
I need that feature urgently. Can you please suggest me a way to do that?
Hi there
Sorry, but in order to achieve this you need to manually customize the theme files, something which is way beyond the scope of our support. I would suggest that you find a web developer from http://studio.envato.com to help you with any customizations.
Thanks for understanding!
Hey Codestag,
Your themes are better than the ones in my head. I love you. Best of all they don’t force you into creating weird custom stuff that won’t work later with other themes or plugins. You’ve revolutionised my blog (I’ve been running WP since 2004) and the feedback from readers has been incredible. I am a huge fan and think I’ll buy Meth for my business. Thank you. Can’t wait for what is next in store.
Brad, surfd.com
Wow, thanks for the kind words
Really appreciated
This theme looks great! I just had one question before purchasing it.
How do you create the widgetized homepages exactly? Is it done in the widget section or is it done after creating a page?
It requires both actually. Just create widget area, add you widgets and then after creating a page you can assign the selected sidebar to this page. It’s quite simple.
Thanks!
Hey Guys!
10 days ago you said you were pushing through an update in the next 2-3 days. Any idea when it’ll be available?
Hi, the last update was in July 19th. Perhaps this is the one you are talking about?
“On a note, we’ve a workaround coming up in next version, available in 2-3 days, which gives you option to show buttons for unregistered users only.”
This is the update I’m looking forward to.
Hm… this is probably something the developer had been working on. I’ll get in touch with him and let you know.
Any word on this update?
It’s already available since last update, you may use the [locked_options] shortcode for that.
Hi! Can you tell me what files should be replaced by new ones after the latest update on the theme? Tks!
Hi, I’d like to override the template-tags.php (wp-content/ink/inc/template-tags.php) with the copy of it in my child-theme (wp-content/ink-child/inc/template-tags.php) but it will not work. Could you help me with this? Thank you in advance!

Hi there, I would like to adjust the font size & set for title headers and body in custom CSS. For example: if I choose Lato for headers, it appears to be (ultra)bold, but instead i would like to set it to Thin.
Could you give me the custom CSS for these changes?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Codestag,
I love your theme! Just one quick question: on the demo, I noticed the navigation icon changes between light or dark styling based on the photo behind it. Where can I do the same?
Thanks for your help!
Best, Lauren
Hey Lauren,
There is no custom option to change the colors of the header, it switches automatically—depending on if you have the the page background selected or if you’re on homepage etc.
If you have any further questions, please create a ticket on our support forum. Thanks.
Is there a way to have a fixed/sticky logo?
Nope, no such built-in functionality!
Hi. When logged in, is it possible to hide the ‘Subscribe / Login’ widget in the sidebar? I noticed it’s still there when I created a dummy account on the demo site. Cheers
Hello,
I don’t see the Purchased tag by your username, did you purchase Ink from another theme? Either way, please create a ticket on our support forum and we would be glad to assist you. Thanks.
Hi There. Thanks for the quick response. No haven’t purchased yet. My question was a pre-purchase one. Would the functionality I queried require a bit of custom work? It just seemed strange to have the login/subscribe buttons visible in the sidebar and footer for when users are logged in. Cheers
Yes, this would require some custom work actually. These buttons are nothing but text widgets with button shortcodes. So it would require some serious customizations to make it behave like you wish…
Thanks!
Thanks guys and good luck with the sales. Fantastic theme!
Hello,
On a note, we’ve a workaround coming up in next version, available in 2-3 days, which gives you option to show buttons for unregistered users only.
Hi! I was going to open a support ticket but since over there you say you don’t answer questions related to CSS, I figured I should try over here. Thing is, I would like to adjust the space between paragraphs on my posts, but I can’t seem to find exactly where on the CSS. I think the original space is too much (here’s a print screen of what I’m talking about http://prntscr.com/419pr8), so I would like to lower it a bit. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot!
The print screen correct URL: http://prntscr.com/419pr8
Hello,
Here or there, rules apply for both the places
Still, you can quick add .entry-content p { margin-bottom: 20px; } to adjust that.
This is super urgent! I have a regular wordpress.com blog and have purchased the Ink theme. Now, I am unable to install it.
1) If I buy the premium WP version, will I be able to install it? 2) Do I have to have my own domain to be able to install it?
Hi there
Ink works only for WP.org, you need to have an installation of WordPress at your own domain, yes.
Let us know if you need further help.
Thanks!
Hello,
I am wondering how I can get users to subscribe to my blog and/or allow me to add custom html or javascript to this theme.
Thanks, andrew
Hi there,
Not sure what you actually mean by custom HTML. If you know your way around HTML we should edit the theme files. The theme has a field for adding custom css though.
In any case, please post your questions at our support desk at http://support.codestag.com and one of us will be with you.
Thanks!
Cool man, I was hoping yall would have an easy subscribe button widget or something I could use. However Ill just edit the html if thats what I need to do.
Thanks again
Just realized our purchase code for sign up is with another coworker. I am fairly new to wordpress, can you tell me how to access the theme files?
Thanks a third time, andrew
Hi there. If you are not comfortable with HTML, i would definitely NOT suggest to edit the theme files, which are accessible at your server. You can edit them with an ftp client.
For subscribers, why don’t you try any of these plugins? http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=subscribeThanks!
- Blogging quotes (meaning only a background image and a quote)
- Blogging youtube and vimeo (meaning a featured image in the overview but a fullscreen video with control in the detailview)
- Blogging a gallery (meaning featured image is header like now… but further entries are slidable)
Hi there,
Nope, unfortunately we cannot commit to any of the above. Thanks for your interest!
Do you think I could make them come alive in a child theme? or would this be a too big hack.
Won’t be a hack, but it totally depends on your skills
Your not using the current jQuery 1.9, why is that?
We don’t add jQuery separately from theme, it’s the one included in core WordPress.
Besides, latest version of WordPress, v3.9.1 uses jQuery v1.11.0. What WP version are you using?
Latest… I am having issues using “document ready” in script tags. As they don’t fire. But I’ll look into it further …
If you have any issues, feel free to open a ticket at our support desk at http://support.codestag.com
Thanks!
Great theme! Thanks for all your hard work!
Additionally, your
.gridclass seems a little off. In your demo, you have it at 105%, and you have your facebook/twitter share buttons in the container. However, in your release version, it’s also set at 105%, but the facebook button spills outside the container and cuts it off, as you can see here - http://prntscr.com/3z8ufh
I was able to manually change the class to 100%, which worked for me, but is this something you should fix in a release. Or maybe I’m missing something. Our CSS looks the same…
-Jared
Hello,
There is nothing wrong with the grid class. It’s 105% because of the reasons of not using ‘float’ property and keeping the space proper.
You must have edited some CSS which caused that to spill out the container, check out this screenshot from demo – https://cloudup.com/c7flILESvgt it works perfectly fine.
If you need any further assistance, please create a ticket on our support forum. Thanks.
I see what I did. I adjusted the .one-of-two class because I wanted the footer text to spread across the bottom. Currently, you have it set at 47%. My change to .one-of-two threw off the whole grid.
I will open a ticket from now on.
Yeap, that’s the best way
Hey,
just wondering how to create the galleries like on here: http://demo.codestag.com/ink/2014/04/15/an-adventure-in-the-wild/
I looked in the docs but didn’t see anything, sorry if I’m being blind >.<
Hi there. These are Jetpack tiled galleries. If you install the jetpack plugin you will be able to use the tiled galleries, as mentioned here: http://jetpack.me/support/tiled-galleries/
Let me know if this helps!
Perfect, thank you very much (Y) All is good!
Good to hear that. If you need further help, please do not hesitate to use our support desk at http://support.codestag.com
Thanks!
I could’ve sworn that when I first installed this theme the ability to “Hide” the page titles existed, but now I am not seeing it.
Am I missing something?
Yes, you can still hide the Page titles but only when you have ‘Widgetized’ page template selected. If you have any further questions please header our to our support forum. Thanks.
