Hi Erik, I’m having an issue with the responsiveness of the header image.
See this page http://shirtmavens.com/test/ the header image is not resizing properly. Any advice on how to fix this?
Ok nevermind, I took care of it, thanks anyway
Hey and thanks for your purchase. Sorry for the late reply, i was on vacation actually, great to hear that you’ve already solved it. Let me know if you need assistance in the future. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
Just purchased the theme and starting on conversion to rtl. I have two questions:
1. I’m trying to set up the general direction of the ‘main’ page from right-to-left by adding this code to the body (in layout.css, under GENERAL & TYPOGRAPH – didn’t work): direction: rtl; unicode-bidi: embed; I also tried to add it to the #header to swap the direction of just the header – didn’t work either. Any ideas?
2. I’m trying to have entries in the main menu in Hebrew. I have changed the name of the ‘About Us’ page to an Hebrew name [HebrewWord]) and changed the link menu entry also to the that name ([HebrewWord]). The Hebrew name appears nicely on the menu however, when clicked it doesn’t jump to the page (section) in the main page. Could it be that specifying a Hebrew name as part of a URL doesn’t work? I tried: http://MySiteUrl/#[HebrewWord] (It only works if the text following the # is in English, as expected). WDYT?Cheers..
Per 2) above, did some more checks. It seems the ‘About Us’ section (with a Hebrew name) gets some encoded id:
<section class=”about” id=”%d7%90%d7%95%d7%93%d7%95%d7%aa”> ... </section>
I changed the menu entry URL to link to the above id. This is how its HTML looks like: [HebrewName]
When the menu entry is clicked on the page – nothing happens. But if I right-click and select “Open link in new tab” – it opens correctly in a new tab, and the ‘About Us’ section is displayed.
OK, I’ve figured out the problem. Because you are using the page title for generation of the <Section> id, then if the title is in non-English letters it creates a mess. I was wondering whether to use the Page Slug is a more clean solution? Instead of:
<section class="about" id="<?php $fb_ref_title = get_the_title(); echo sanitize_title($fb_ref_title); ?>">
Do something like:
section class="about" id="<?php global $post; $post_slug=$post->post_name; echo $post_slug; ?>">
This allows for using non-English in the title while maintaing the slug in English to be used by a link. WDYT?
Hey Mulick, sorry for the late reply, i just got home from my vacation. Honestly i have never tried to convert a theme’s text to rtl direction – but as i promised you before – i’m gonna help you through this request.
Let’s catch up with this case in email, and please let me know what issues are still remaining since than. Also, please provide a link and admin login details to your site (in email of course) so i’ll be able to check on it, and come up with a solution. Cheers, Erik
Hi,
For some reason the nav bar doesn’t show up on the mobile site. Please help!
http://accountingsoftwarebook.com/thanks
Hi and thanks for your purchase. I just checked your site on iphone, and the nav bar seems to be fine. Can you tell me what device do you noticed the issue and which browser? Cheers, Erik
There are two nav bars on my site, one at the top (login, register, your cart) and one with all the pages. The top one shows up, but the main one doesn’t on the devices I’ve used. I’ve only tried it on Androids though. Does this theme support Android?
Thanks for all your help.
Well actually Android has countless versions, all with different support levels for html5 and css3, so i have to say that it depends on the Android device.. What i can say that it shows both on iPhone if that matters. Cheers, Erik
Ok, thanks. Is there a way to disable the mobile site, so the full site shows up on mobiles?
Sure, open up your skeleton.css file from the /css folder within your theme files and simply delete or comment everything beyond the media queries what defines the mobile sizes. Cheers, Erik
Can you tell me which lines I need to comment out?
Thank you.
Sure, from line 74-206. Cheers, Erik
Hi,
I’m having some compatibility issues with IE8 in the samples section. The green part isn’t filling the entire screen in Internet Explorer and the title of the selection jumps onto the beige background.
My site: http://accountingsoftwarebook.com/
Can you help please?
Hello and thanks for your purchase. Unfortunately the theme doesn’t support IE8 – as you can also see at the item details page of the theme – it supports IE9+ only as IE8 is outdated and Microsoft doesn’t support it either. Cheers, Erik
Ok, thanks!
Couldn’t find it in the documentation or details: does this theme support subnav?
Hello, no it doesn’t as it is a one-page landing page theme basically. Cheers, Erik
Thanks for the great theme!
Quick Question- is there any way I can add a paypal button into the pricing table. I don’t need it to be on the first page. I’m willing to make a separate page but I would like to utilize the pricing table.
Hello and thanks for your purchase, glad you like it! Actually i’m not sure what do you exactly mean by “adding a paypal button”... I assume you had given a code snippet from paypal of the button, and you need to insert it somewhere in the code, right? Cheers, Erik
Yes currently the pricing table has a “learn more” button. I would like that to be a purchase/paypal button instead.
No i mean which one of these options: 1.) You need only to change the “Learn More” button text to “Purchase/PayPal” or 2.) You need to insert a whole code snippet for each button (generated by paypal) ?
sorry for the confusion i would like option 2) the whole code snippet
I see, that’s the more difficult one. I’m afraid you can’t insert a whole code snippet, what about redirecting the users to your secure paypal page when the button is clicked? If you look through your paypal generated code, there will be your custom purchase link somewhere… Let’s copy paste it into the pricing table button’s Link field. Cheers, Erik
hey sorry for the delay.. i’ve been playing around with your theme. What link are you referring to? This is my paypal button code:

Wow… this is much more than i thought for first. Well, you can try to insert it into template-pricing.php file, where the pricing tables structure is defined. Cheers, Erik
Hi, I am having trouble making a landing page. First I made a page, I wasn’t sure what template to make it, so I tried a few different ones, but they all redirect to the homepage, or display the homepage, not sure which exactly.
Then I tried changing the permalinks to display the post-name as the URL and then when I would try to view the page, I recieve this error message
Error: The local license key has been tampered with or is invalid.
Hello and thanks for your purchase. The issue is really strange, i haven’t seen this one yet, i guess there’s something wrong with your database setup. By the way i did a quick google search on this issue and found this: http://forum.spbas.com/index.php?threads/database-for-licensing-module-solution-wordpress-integration.6149/
Please give it a try and let me know how it worked out. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik, thanks for the tip, it turns out it was nothing to do with the theme at all, as you said, some database issue that my hosting needed to resolve.
Thanks!
Great to hear that and thx for your feedback
Happy editing! Erik
Hey, can I change width of bar with logo in Your theme?
Hey, yeah manually via css. Cheers, Erik
thanks, I will buy it in next month I think. Cheers, Piotrek
Cool, looking forward for it
Cheers, Erik
Hi, Erik. I saw that the section id is formed by the title. How can i get a slug, insteed of title, cause titles are in cyrillic. I mean this piece of code: id=”<?php $fb_ref_title = get_the_title(); echo sanitize_title($fb_ref_title); ?>
Thank you.
The problem was that id appears unreadable. lake this: %d0%ba%d0%b0%d0%ba-%d1%8d%d1%82%d0%be-%d0%b1%d1%8b%d0%b2%d0%b0%d0%b5%d1%82
Hi and thx for your purchase! It’s a problem, because actually the sanitize_title() function is creating a lowercase dash-separated slug based on the section title…Have you tried to remove the function, like this:
id=”<?php $fb_ref_title = get_the_title(); ?>
Maybe it solves it on the first ground. Let me know how it worked out! Cheers, Erik
slugs are in english. only titles are in cyrillic. I will try to remove. You propose to write id by hand and indicate in menu?
Yeah, that’s what i was pointing at! Cheers, Erik
Footers Seems obvious but how can i add two small links in the footer/bottom pf page linking to 1) terms and conditions page and 2) privacy page??
Hey there, thx for your purchase! Open up your footer.php file and add this after line 14:
<a href="#" style="color: #ccc">Terms & Conditions</a> <a style="color: #ccc" href="#">Privacy</a>
Naturally, replace the ”#” characters with the url pointing to your special pages. Happy editing! Erik
thanks.. another question.. when i load my website it seems to take a little while and i get “transferring date from test.eriktailor” very quikcly at the bottom.. what’s the deal with this?? how can i remove it and will it speed up load time? could there by reasons otherwise while load takes a while?
The site loading script is written to wait a bit – until the page is completely loaded – but if you wish to remove the delay and the loading animation let me know and i will let you know how to. Cheers, Erik
hi.. more problems.. my youtube videos are no longer showing and i have an ugly black bar across the top of page.. also there seems large whit gaps between each section which is a waste.. any thought.. i can give you the link to website to review if you wish
Hi, have no idea as i don’t know your site url and can’t check it, i suggest to think back what were you doing when the issue started or drop me your site link and i check it. Cheers, Erik

You have a js error on your site: http://s24.postimg.org/7mxgsvket/24egwre.jpg Try to remember when it started and what did you do than – or what third party plugin had you installed that time and remove it. Cheers, Erik
thanks – i deactivated a plugin “popupAlly” and now works fine does this mean this plugin can’t be be used or i need to check my settings/data for it? it did work fine for a while?
Your welcome
Honestly i don’t know, there are thousands of available plugins in the wordpress plugin directory, reasonably i’m not able to provide support for them.
Try to use another plugin with the same functionality and see how it works. If – maybe – there aren’t any similar plugins, i suggest to contact the author of this plugin (with the screenshot i sent) for more information. Cheers, Erik
Soon after installing the Flatbook theme, Google flagged my site as having been hacked. When I ran webmaster tools and went into my dashboard, I discovered that a user named “Erik Tailor” had been added to my dashboard, and my site had been flagged for spam content because of all of the pages added by this user. Erik Tailor, of course, is the creator of this theme. I’ve removed all of the content created by user Erik Tailor and submitted a ticket to Google Webmaster to have my site reviewed, but it is still showing as having been hacked. My question then: is this an innocent mistake, or is the creator of this theme finding a way to hack into all of the sites that download it? Erik, this theme looks great, but obviously I can’t use it if it’s going to cause my site to carry a warning to potential visitors. Can you explain to me how this happened and why you were added without my consent as a user on my site?
Hey and thanks for your purchase. Have you submitted your admin login details before to me, asking for support assistance? If not, i can assure you that i haven’t logged in to your site. Just check back the item comments and my reviews, and you can see that many buyers gave me their login details asking for help, and i always did my part without any dissappointments…
If you haven’t provided your login details to me asking for support, and your site has been hacked, the reason is that you may used a poor password or chosen a wrong webhost – it has nothing to do with me – as just think on it a bit: Let’s say, i would have any reason and the knowledge to hack your site – what neither i have – would i use my own name for it?
By the way, this is the first time i noticed about a case like this regarding my themes and thanks for sharing it with us – i can only suggest to change to a well known, reliable web host and use strong passwords generated with for example: http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/
Hi Erik. Thank you for your quick reply. No, I never submitted my login details for support assistance. I did import the demo content, as I often do with a new theme, but I have never before had this problem after importing demo content. Is it possible that there is an accidental line of code in your demo content that assigns you as a user in an account?
I use a reputable web host-bluehost-which I’ve used for man years, and I do have a password that is classified as “very strong.” I also changed the password after this happened.
The other possibility is that someone is hacking sites that use your theme and using your name to do so.
If you haven’t submitted your login details, i can guarantee you for 100% sure that i haven’t logged in to your site. When you import the demo content, it’s asked that the contents made by me will be assigned to me as the author of them – but that doesn’t mean i will be able to log in to your site at all!
Sorry for your site being hacked (especially if you were using a reliable host with a strong password) but just like every physical locks, every websitse can be hacked in the posession of proper knowledge, we can do nothing about it instead of using strong passwords, security plugins in some cases and mostly creating backups regularly to restore contents.
Hi Erik. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I went through the whole process again to see what happened, and it appears that when I imported the demo content following the instructions and was asked to assign a user, I didn’t assign a current user to the demo content. Because I didn’t assign a current user or create a new one, it by default assigned the name “Erik Tailor.” I think what happened is that, because the demo content is in lorem ipsum (and therefore is not related to my site content), google flagged my site; when it crawled, it found nonsensical text instead of what my site claims to be about. Even though the FlatBook theme was not active when Google crawled, for some reason it found all of that content and marked me as hacked. I really want to use the theme, because it’s gorgeous. Any advice on how to keep that content from being available to crawlers when I’m working on Flatbook? Thanks very much.
Ohh wait a moment.. you meant that my name is shown besides the demo content pages what i have created originally? That’s the normal behaviour, certainly nothing to worry about! Nonsensical text means the lorem ipsum dummy texts in the theme demo content, if you replace it with your own texts and delete the rest what you don’t need, i’m pretty sure it will disappear. Technically, what would you like to achieve exactly? Cheers, Erik
Hello,
I’m having trouble getting a thumbnail image to show up on Facebook, when I have the slider going. I tried adding an “og:image” meta tag to Header.php but it didn’t have any effect. Can you recommend a solution?
<!- Basic Page Needs ->
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title><?php bloginfo('name'); ?><?php wp_title('|'); ?></title>
<meta name="description" content="<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>">
<meta property="og:image" content="http://www.daphneignatius.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/goldtext.jpg">
Hello and thanks for your purchase! I’m afraid i don’t really understand what would you like to achieve, can you please describe it? Cheers, Erik
Just emailed a snapshot to your gmail account.
Replied! Cheers, Erik
Hello sir, how have you been, you have been very helpful and I really like your template! I have one more question: How do I connect 2-3 pages like in a single page like in the demo http://demo.eriktailor.com/flatbook-wordpress-2/ When I click on Free Html5 Lessons in you demo it just roles down and it doesn’t open a new page) How do I do this in my website using your template? If you could explain I would appreciate it! Regards, Taulant Bytyqi
Hey there and thanks for your purchase! Please read the included theme documentation carefully (especially the “Menus” part at the end), the creation and the difference between basic menu items and scrolling onepage menu items and instructions with images can be found in. Happy editing! Erik
Hi Eric!
Absolutely love the design! After spending all day shopping for themes, this one popped out and looking forward to the finishing my site!
1. How can I place pictures inside the ipad AND pictures inside the big quotation mark next to “About Author” or the Testimonial section? Can this easily be done or do I require special Photoshop skills? I’m familiar with Pixlr.com with limited graphic skills.
2. Where do I edit social media after “About Author” and before “Messages from Readers” and “Special offers”? There is a long line of social media “Be Socialable, Share!”
3. How can I change font color and size of text? Grey is hard to read, wanted to do black and perhaps bigger text default.
4. Where can I change the default turquoise color in theme?
5. In the demo, when you scroll down, features pop in, however, on mine, when scrolling down, it is permanently already glued. Where is this extra feature?
6. I noticed many people wanted the menu to be displayed in the previous comments. Is it still the same where we have to do the JQuery or is there an easier way?
Thank you!
Website: jjwarren.com
Hi and thanks for your purchase, glad you like it!
1.) If you need your images shaped of a quotation mark (as in the demo), you will need to use Photoshop’s clipping mask feature, but don’t worry it’s pretty easy, requires only a couple of minutes. You can read more on the technique here: http://www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/clipping-masks-essentials/
2.) It isn’t beyond the original functionality of the theme and we can’t provide support for third-party wordpress plugins. I suggest to check back the plugin’s install instructions on it’s homepage.
3.) Add this to your style.css file:body { font-size: 16px !important; color: black !important; }
4.) At Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > General in your wordpress admin interface.
5.) It is the default feature of the theme, when you imported the theme demo content i’m pretty sure it worked.. Actually you have javascript errors on your site generated by the third-party plugins you installed – especially the twitter stuff looks suspicious for me – try to disable every plugins and see if it may solve it and eliminate the wrong one.
6.) In the latest (1.3) version of the theme, this feature is integrated in the theme options at Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > General, and you will need to choose “navbar stays visible” option.
Happy editing! Erik
Hi,
A few questions:
1. The Sample section has 6 chapters for which the content is images because it is a text book. The website is taking a long time to load and I believe its because of this, since when I removed the sample section, it was quick. The images are lowest res possible, is there any way to make it load faster or is it down to removing some pages?
2. The titles of the samples that you click on, the ‘clickability’ of them is only half way through the title and not at the beginning. How to fix this?
Thanks
Hey there, thanks for your purchase!
1.) Have you optimized your images for web? This might help: http://inobscuro.com/tutorials/optimizing-images-for-web-35/
2.) I don’t really understand what are you pointing at, please drop me an email with a link to your site with a copy of this comment as a reminder, and i’ll check it. Cheers, Erik
to which email address?
The images are optimized but there are probably about 50 images altogether with all the samples.
I see.. Than why don’t you try to save one long image for each sample instead of adding a lot of separate one below each other? Cheers, Erik
You can send the email via my themeforest profile’s contact form here: http://themeforest.net/user/eriktailor
hi there, could i use your template with woocommerce plugin and a membership plugin?
thanks, Adam
Hey Adam and thanks for your purchase. Unfortunately the theme doesn’t support WooCommerce yet – it means you can use it, but it will need css styling to render properly. Regarding the membership plugin i see no reason why you couldn’t use it, suggest to give it a try and let me know if you need some assistance. Cheers, Erik
Sir how are you doing? I have a issue. The thing is the when I click into a page it redirect me to the main page instead to the page I want to go because of an hashtag issue. The hashtag keeps coming up front and redirecting me to the main page. Do you know why is this happening? Regards, Taulant
Hi and thanks for your purchase! Try to use “Link” Type menu items instead of adding “Pages” from the left, so you will be able to add the corresponding url withouth the hashtags, for example: www.yoursite.com/separate-page . Cheers, Erik
Hi,
Just wondering, I’d like to remove the whole sample section for mobile devices. How can I go about this?
Thanks a lot.
Hey there and thanks for your purchase. To do that, add this to your style.css file:
@media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
.samples { display: none !important; }
}
This has got to be the best choice for Wordpress eBook theme. Not only does the theme look great on every desktop browser, but equally good on an iPhone. Beyond the professional looking website template is the wonderful developer who truly stands behind his work. Erik is quick to help when you need a change or experience a glitch.
Thanks for your kind words and the positive review, appriciate it and glad you are so satisfied with the theme!
Happy editing! Erik
The setup page for contact form does not work (http://eriktailor.com/tf_assets/flatbook_wp/documentation/#set-up-contact-form) how do I find instructions?
Hello and thanks for your purchase. The latest version of the documentation is also included in the main theme package download, but if you prefer the online one, you can find it here: http://docs.eriktailor.com/flatbook/#set-up-contact-form Cheers, Erik
