Quick question: how can adjust the home page layout to a 2-1-2-1 etc layout? It’s the only option not available in customized styling options.
I added a static image on my home page above my posts, so it would be great if I could follow it with 2 posts, then 1, then 2 etc..

Well, I know. “Ink” isn’t designed for this, but I cannot use bbpress. I tried several things for a couple hours and non of them worked fine.
The problem is, default bbpress should make itself compatible with the theme, but inks unique page system prevents it.

I just your site and I could see some styling issues only. We can’t really offer support for bbPress, but it’s fairly easy to get bbPress working by tweaking the single page view of bbPress.
Your best bet would be to hire a developer, and get it styled. All the best!
Is there a way to control the “featured image” that is used as the cover for a post? I want the image to be wide, but it keeps coming up as a huge square.
Also, the preview of posts seems to be having issues, it doesn’t show the updated changes to background color and cover opacity until I click “update” making preview not really useful.

The featured image automatically adapts to the viewport or browser window. For the preview, we just use the built in WordPress customizer. Maybe it is just some server speed issue that does not allow the changes to be applied in the preview fast enough.

I have some questions regarding this theme before I purchase:
1. On the home page, will we be able to have “latest posts” or “most popular posts” displayed as the home page image links? If so, will we be able to have latest posts in one column and most popular posts in the other column (if we’re doing the strict two-column style layout, minus the top image of course)
2. Are header images automatically darkened so that white text can show up easily or do I have to do it myself?

2. For each featured image, you can have a background color and set an opacity to the image, so if you set a dark background color and set an opacity to the image, you can adjust the readability.

No, it’s doesn’t have a feature like that—since it’s mostly focused on publishing content for readers. However, it can be easily achieved with any front end posting plugin or Gravity forms which allows front end submission. With one of these plugins and Restrict Content Pro plugin, you can easily allow other members to post content from front end.
You might see some styling problems which might need some tweak, for which you can hire any front end developer to do the job.

Yes, it is, by using column shortcodes. Such shortcodes are available with our free Stagtools plugin, which is suggested for INK.

Hi,
I just purchased this theme and have one question. I’ve downloaded the suggested plugins and I’m trying to duplicate the tiled galleries. I was able to create the tiled galleries, but I can’t duplicate the slide show the occurs when you click on a single image within the gallery. I just get a new page with a larger image, not the slide show that appears on the demo. Can you give me directions on how do to this?

Not unfortunately, Ink offers only side navigation. However, our Skilt theme offers both side navigation style and traditional navigation styles. You might want to give it a try if that fits your needs.

Hello! I am very close to purchase of either this or OM – I have a tough time deciding, so I have some questions:
- Is it possible to have quote-posts? Can you choose that when creating a post?
- Possible with have another type gallery? Lightbox, instead of current?
- What is the name of the font(s) on your Doctype theme? And could they be used on INK / OM as well?

- Nope, unfortunately both themes only support standard post formats. Quote posts are not supported for now.
- You can use a plugin for different gallery options
- Doctype uses Lato, it is possible to have Lato for OM and Ink too, yes.

This theme looks so great on mobile devices. With the majority of users consuming readable content on phones and tablets these days, I would LOVE for this theme to be swipe/touch enabled. Swipe left for menu. Swipe right for homepage. Something like that.

1) is it possible to set up the home page so it’s like the one you show on the themeforest page for theme – a”Welcome to Ink” Banner (Header text + body Text with Background Image) (set so it’s not clickable), with posts underneath?
2) Alternatively/additionally – can we set the author profile as the home page header – with posts underneath like http://demo.codestag.com/ink/author/testuser1/

2. Nope, WordPress does not offer an option for that. But you can easily replicate the design of the author page into a widgetized static page, and then use the recent posts widget to show the posts under it.

I’m thinking about purchasing this theme but have a quick question. I currently have a long running personal bog using a basic free theme. My blog is picture heavy and I would like to upgrade to the Ink Theme. Will a default image be used from my old blog in Ink or will I have to go back trough all my old posts and select an image to be used?

No, this is a gallery that is generated by the Jetpack plugin. Just install Jetpack and activate the tiled galleries module, and it should work
