The old version of Vertikal did not have any major problem with WordPress 4.0 and you should not have any problem with older versions of Vertikal.

By the way, I’ve upgraded Vertikal yesterday and it works much better with WordPress 4.0 now. If you can’t open a ticket and can’t give me access to your WordPress to let me check it, please upgrade to the latest version and let me know if this helped or not.

Thank you for purchasing Vertikal! This issue was fixed in their update which was released on Feb. 2014 and I’ve included the updated version in Vertikal v1.3 (Mar. 2014).

So if you were using Vertikal v1.3 or newer, you don’t need to worry about it but if you were not updating your theme and was using older versions than v1.3 then please upgrade to the latest version and also change your mySQL passwords to ensure there is no problem on your side.

As for the new version, it’s not related to Revolution Slider bug and I’ve included WooCommerce support and WordPress 4.0 compatibility to Vertikal in this new version

Step 1: Check Plugin Versions • Log into the WordPress admin area • Go to the plugins screen • Locate Slider Revolution and/or Showbiz Pro plugin(s) in the list • Check the version number(s) o If you have a version of Revolution Slider plugin that is 4.2 or higher, or Showbiz Pro that is 1.5.3 or higher, your plugin has already been patched. No further action is required. o If you are using an earlier version, you need to download a patched version of the plugin and install it immediately (instructions below). Step 2: Install Patched Plugin (If Necessary) • Make a backup of your site • Download the theme again from the downloads page (to get a secure version) • Locate the downloaded zip file on your computer and unzip it • Locate the revslider and/or showbiz folders. If you are not able to locate the folders, please contact the theme author. • Connect to your server using an FTP client and go to the wp-content/plugins/ folder • Upload the revslider and/or showbiz folders to the wp-content/plugins/ folder, overwriting the existing files • Log into WordPress and go to the Plugins page • Locate the updated plugins in the list and confirm the version(s) are secure • Update your server password following password best practices

P.S. Since I’m sending a new version of Vertikal to ThemeForest, I would recommend to wait for the new version and install it once the new version is released. This way you don’t need to upgrade it once again…

I’ll be done by the end of the week and a new version of Vertikal will be released which will be 100% surely compatible with WordPress 4.0

Great to hear there’s been some active work on it. And thanks for the quick response! I’m awaiting the release.

If you don’t mind I have a suggestion for adding in any future release;

I’ve been searching the internet for a Gallery plugin. Not one like there’s standard in WordPress, but something similar: a gallery page, which displays all the galleries you have, with one difference, which is to only show one thumbnail, and not thumbnails of all pictures contained in the gallery itself.

When buying Vertikal, I was convinced your Portfolio plugin would be perfect for this goal: One button to zoom/show light box, and one to go ‘deeper into’ the portfolio (or gallery..). Too bad things didn’t work as expected; when enhancing, clicking the zoom button on portfolio, it opens a light box which shows only the thumbnails of the portfolio-items! Additionally, even on your/the preview page of Vertikal, when browsing through those previews, some images “cannot be loaded”.

To clarify what I, and many others (when I searched through Google for something similar, I found many others with the same wishes!) would like to be able to do is this summed up:

- Have a gallery page which: *Shows the desired galleries, that; * When clicked on the zoom-button (like in portfolio) opens a light box to browse through all photos, or when clicked on the deep link button ‘dives into’ the gallery itself to browse the pictures like a regular gallery (tiled view)

I realize the portfolio was not intended like this, but in my opinion it would be a great feature, desired by more than just me. Any options to achieve this are of course be appreciated!

I’m curious for your opinion/reaction!

Hmmm… I’m not sure if I’ve understand it completely. Do you mean you want a gallery that shows thumbnails for different galleries and once you click on a zoom button, it shows all the images in THAT gallery, right?

If so, This is a I’ll try to include such feature in next versions but I can’t promise for the next version because I’m almost done with it and I’m planing to submit it tonight. But I’ve added this feature in my to do list and I’ll try to include it in next versions

You understood that absolutely right A gallery, tumbnails of the included galleries, with zoom (‘dive in-to’) function to view images inside that particular gallery

If not asked too much; the exact idea, with the layout from the brilliant portfolio would perfectly suit the goal; a great look with even better functionality.

I therefor hope you can include it any time soon in the theme, or even release it as standalone widget.

I also noticed the update has been deployed today; as my website project (on localhost) is being uploaded to live webserver as we speak, I hope I can give it a try this week. This particular version adds the support for WP 4.0 right?

Quick question; does the theme support the all new Universal Analytics code yet, instead of the regular Google Analytics code? Nothing tracked and not detected after a day or two for so, so I suppose not

If you put any codes in 3rd Party section of the theme options, it will place the code on the end of the HTML codes (before body ends) without any changes. So it should work with any other analytics which use pure HTML and JS like Google Analytics.

If you have any problem with it, please kindly give me your site URL and let me check if this code is placed on your site properly.

As for CSS, I hope adding the following code to your “Theme Options > Custom CSS” will help:
