This is a pre-buyers question. I am very interested in buying but require some advice on additional functionality. I know it involves CSS/development changes, but I would like some advice as to how easy the changes would be to make, based on the code in theme.
I would like to know how easy it would be to convert the grid layout of posts into masonry style, so that they look similar to this: by-form.net
Is this something that could be quite easily done with changing the code? Or could it be done with the Isotope WP plugin?
Thanks! A.
Hi there,
I’m afraid this requires quite a lot of customization, you will definitely need the help of a professional web developer since it is not an easy task to achieve by just tweaking some lines of code.
Thanks!
I am interested in using/buying this theme solely for a personal WordPress blog. No business purposes, etc. I am able to do that, correct?
Sure, of course you can
Hi, awesome theme. Was wondering:
1 – If a horizontal navigation as in Blink is possible?
2. If the 3 bars navigation can be changed to ‘menu’?
Thanks, Daithi
Hi,
I was also wondering about sidebars and an archives page?
Thanks.
Hi.
For questions 1 + 2 I’m afraid it’s not possible without some modifications to the theme files.
For your other questions please open a ticket at https://codestag.com/support/ and we will gladly help!
Hi guys – great looking theme. Just one question:
I’d like to omit the header images for certain individual posts, but keep the image on the post list page. In other words, keep the title/subtitle/details on the individual post page, but don’t overlay it with a header image. Is this possible?
Many thanks in advance, Wern
Hey Wern,
That would require some custom CSS depending on how you want it. Like, if want to hide images on some individual post pages or each post page. In case of individual, you’ll need to add some specific CSS for each post. But for hiding image on single pages, you could just use one common CSS. Either way, I can guide you through.
Just create a ticket on our support site and I’d be glad to assist you. Thanks.
That’s very kind Codestag, thanks. Just saw Blink, and could not register for support before purchasing, so hope the question is OK here? I’m trying to determine the main differences between the two themes, as there are strong similarities. Love the typography used for Blink. Is there anything “under the hood” that is significantly different, or is it mainly aesthetic? TIA for your kind support.
Hi, there difference between the two themes is that Blink is much more simple and plays well right out of the box. It has a more robust performance than Ink, but it is not that flexible.
You can have a look at the docs for both themes here: http://docs.codestag.com/
Thank you
Thanks for this. Some final advice please :
1) I’d like to add a subscription form right on the home page, and a link to subscribe on every post page. The Ink subscribe page looks great, but my intention is a subscription whereby users receive HTML emails containing the entire post content once a post is published (not site login subscription). So newsletter-esque 2) I would like to use standard Georgia font for post body and Georgia Italic for pull quotes, as opposed to Google web font or Typekit
Is this equally do-able with both themes, or is the added flexibility of Ink required? Thanks for bearing with Me!
Wern
Just following up on this question—if it is better addressed elsewhere, please let me know. TIA
I’m afraid that you will definitely need the help of a professional web developer in order to achieve what you wish, for both questions you mentioned
It is not do-able out of the box, for any of the two themes.
Of course for the newsletter thing you may try looking for a third party plugin, but we have not tested compatibility with any of them.
Thanks!
Thank you. You mentioned plugins – does the theme offer a way, via page builder or shortcode, to drop in a plugin-based subscribe form (CF7 etc.) on a static page as the home page? Even if it does not appear on the blog list page it’s fine. Thanks again!
You could use a widgetized page for this, yes, and add a widget containing the contact form.
thanks

hi. purchased. beautiful.
One Q: where are the photo’s from?
thanks.
Hi, photos used are mostly from iconsets from Pixeden, like this one: http://codest.ag/1AsEdE4
Hey guys,
Can I safely update to WP 4.1 or could there be any issues with the theme?
Thanks in advance, Vincent
Hi Vincent
Sure, go ahead and upgrade, the theme is compatible.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Great, thanks for the fast reply! Happy New Year to you too!
Hello. First of all thank you for this great theme. And I have a question. How can I put full width image in a post like in the demo post SPAIN, RE-LOADED- strawberries photo? thank you.
Hi there. Please have a look at this article: http://codest.ag/1BpczFK
Thanks!
Hello,
How hard is it to add an Instagram stream ? Is there a widget for that or should it be custom made ?
2nd question : Is it possible to disable the paid subscription ? We just need standard user accounts.
3nd question : we are planning to add a simple e-commerce later. Do you think it’s possible ? Will it require a lot of custom work ?
Thanks
Hi there. To answer your questions:
1. There is already a widget for that. Just add your username and you are good to go.
2. Yeap, this is definitely possible. But for more info on the Restrict Content Pro plugin I would advise you to have a look at the plugin page: http://codest.ag/1JXRiJt
Please note that the membership functionality is not built in, and requires you to purchase this plugin.
3. It will need quite a custom work, yeah. You can find such developers at https://studio.envato.com
thanks!
I love this theme – very Medium-esque!
I do have one issue I was hoping you could help me with. When I look at my site on an iPhone, the blog title and the title of the first post seem to overlap. Is there something that can be done about this?
Oh, and my site is:

Hi, I just updated to the latest version 1.3 and I’m not getting the whole post being clickable and the previous / next post doesn’t look right, nothing like your demo. Could you please have a look? http://talkingsoup.com/work-and-play/using-public-transport-wheelchair I’m using a child theme and haven’t made any customisations yet.
Hi, I’ve just checked your site and everything looks fine. Maybe you just need to empty your browser’s cache? If you still face any problems, please send a ticket at https://codestag.com/support/
Thanks!
Strange, the problem just corrected itself when I view it from my work computer. I will check again on my personal computer and empty my cache to see if the problem is still there. Thanks again
No problem. It should definitely be the browser’s cache. Thanks!
Another minor issue how do you remove the website field in the comments section, i would prefer just name, email and your comment to be seen? Thanks
Hi there
Well, this is not an issue actually, we are using the comment form in the default way that WordPress does, so if you ant to edit this, you will need to do some custom coding.
At this point I can only refer you the comment form function reference page: http://codest.ag/1x0iT7r
If coding is not within your skill set, I would totally advise that you hire a web developer to do this customization for you.
Thanks!
Hi There,
Recently purchased your theme. Am quite happy thus far.
Two questions:
1. I for the life of me cannot find out where these automated subtitles / taglines are being generated from on my posts? Here’s an example: http://we-wander.ca/no-hablo-espanol/
2. Is it possible to make my header (logo and hamburger menu) sticky throughout the main homepage of the blog?
Let me know!
Dave
Hi Dave!
1. You need the subtitles plugin in order to generate the subtitles. Have a look at this article: http://codest.ag/1r9iizB
2. I’m afraid this cannot be done without some css customization. I’d suggest you hire someone to help you with that
For any other questions, please use our support service at https://codestag.com/support/ instead of the comments.
Thanks!
Hello Codestag,
I am very interested in purchasing this theme and I intend to use it with Barley (Inline Editing Plugin). One of the requirements for using Barley is:
- Must not have an anchor A tag around the_title() on single.php
When I checked the post title in the demo, it has A tag pointing to same page. Would it be possible to change that and make it compatible with the plugin.
Thank you
Hello,
It’s pretty easy to make that change. You’ll just need to duplicate a file in child theme and remove the tags. I can help you with that if you can make a support ticket after purchasing on our site.
All the best
Hello,
I’m wondering if there is a way to section off the home page, like putting little spacers in between sets of photos that say “latest posts” or “best new products” etc.
I have seen the widgetized homepage but that is too one pagey and seems better for a product display. I want to make a blog, but one with clear sections that wouldn’t just have to be in the navigation bar. Do i have any options here?
Hi there
You can have a widgetized page and add several recent posts widgets that display posts in grid layout. Then, for each widget you can select to output posts from a different category, and you can also have a title for that widget. SO, if you organize your posts in categories properly, I believe you can work it out.
Thanks!
Hello!
I’ve set up my blog locally, and installed all the plugins and pasted in username and ThemeForest API Key under Stag Envato Updater Settings. But I don’t see where the theme updates shows? Just this morning I recived an e-mail about the newest update for the theme, but I don’t see it in my admin panel. How can I use Stag Envato Updater to download the newest updates?
- Kaja
Sorry, it seems like it showed up now, some hours later…
Hi Kaja!
We are planning to actually retire our updater plugin and instead suggest our customers to use the Envato WordPress toolkit, so I would suggest that you give it a try: https://github.com/envato/envato-wordpress-toolkit
It will definitely work better for you.
Thanks!
Well, thank you! Then I’m gonna try that instead : )
Hi Codestaggers!
I have been struggeling with embedding videos on Ink – tried Vimeo, YouTube, selfhosted (.MP4 and .webm) – same result, black screen.
Sound is playing, and often I see some of the sharing options, but no media controls, or video. So after loosing quite a bit of hair, i tested how it looks on your site, tested with: http://demo.codestag.com/ink/2014/04/07/a-weekend-at-yosemite/
And I see the same there on the embedded Vimeo video.
So far I have tested on two different computers, Chrome version is 39.0.2171.95 (latest version) – it does however work in Internet Explorer – but that is not good enough, need this to work across all browsers, which should be expected i think.
Hope you guys have some input to this
Hi there! That’s quite weird. I see the video playing normally at our demo, and we neither we have heard any issues from any customer so far about embedding videos.
In any case, please open a ticket at https://codestag.com/support/ and our private cyber investigators will look into it. Make sure you provide a link to your site.
Thanks!
Ticket created with link, do let me know if you require additional.
Hey! Thanks for the details, we were able to replicate the issue and already pushed an update. New update should be available for download in a couple of hours. Thanks.
Your update fixed the issue, thanks a million for swift and friendly support (even though it was weekend) guys!
We are awesome by nature
All the best!
Pre-Sales Question Hi There. Love the theme. Two questions…
1) On the demo page “A Wild Adventure” what is used to make the gallery of (black and white) images? Is this part of the theme or a separate plugin?
2) On the demo page “A Wild Adventure” there is a full width image (guy on bridge) close to the bottom of the post, would I be able to have images like this stacked on top of one another in a post?
Kind Regards Alfred
Hi Alfred!
1. This gallery is powered by the Jetpack plugin. Just install, and activate the “tilled galleries” module module and you should be good to go.
2. Yes you can. Any image with alignment set to :none will look full width.
Let me know if you have other questions!
Thanks!
Hi i like this theme though there are a few issues before purchase.
1) The forgot password should not take user to wordpress back-end as we do not wish for them to see that. This page should be similar to login/register. 2) After login the wordpress bar is not hidden. 3) Customers should have their own my account page on front end.
Will be great if you could resolve before purchase.
Hi there
These are not issues, it’s the way restrict content pro plugin handles the membership.
1. The plugin currently offers no option to have such a page for “lost password”, the only thing you can do is to use a plugin to customize the appearance of the “lost password” page.
2. Easy to disable using a plugin like this: http://codest.ag/1seN31f
3. Based on this article: http://codest.ag/1seN8lE you can use the [subscription_details] shortcode to create a page, but you might need the help of a couple of extra plugins to replicate a good user experience.
Since all these questions have to do with the plugin actually, i would strongly advise that you check out Restrict content pro’s plugin page: http://codest.ag/1seNCYI to make sure it meets your needs. You may ask Pippin, the plugin developer any questions, he is a great guy and a great coder.
Thanks! John
Hi, I’m loving the simplicity and responsiveness of your themes… I have a pre-sales question. 1, Is it possible to self host audio on your themes? ... I don’t like the new soundcloud players and I’m looking for something more minimalistic and stylish.
Hello,
Yes you can embed the audio player as you would do in the default Twentyfourteen theme.
Let us know if you have any more questions.
Thanks, Ram
Hello. Pre-sales question here. Could you point me to deployments of this theme with ad displays (adsense, etc)? Thanks!
Sorry, we’re not aware of any examples using ad displays to share with you
hello, great theme! I was just wondering if you could change the font size? I don’t like how everything is bolded and would prefer something thinner
Thanks!
Also, how did you do the divider with the bookmark (in the blog piece about exploring new maps of hyperspace the first divider)? haha sorry just working on this for myself.
Hi there
Please use our support system at http://codestag.com/support and send a ticket via the form.
Meanwhile, you can find more info on the divider at our knowledge base: http://codest.ag/160BE0n
Thanks!
Where do I find purchase key? I was hoping this would be something simple you could just help me with here?
The link I provided above shows how to add the divider. For your other question , no, we need some more info on what font size you want to edit. Please include those in the ticket.
The purchase key can be found here: http://codest.ag/purchase_code
Thanks!
okay just created an account and a ticket. Is there any way you could tell me here if you could reduce line height as well?
If not I’ll wait for your response re: my ticket.
