My subscribe form just keeps spinning once i click the check button. I have checked with my webhost company and they assured me the infomation I have put in the settings.php is correct.

www.pirani.life

I used the template, configured the subscription with API Key + the list IDs and put the functionality of the subscription in “true” mode, but it does not work … it does not save the contacts in the mailchimp list.

Hi, How to change the font?

Hi, I have set the “Subscribe” section code for the Mailchimp list according to the documentation provided but it doesn’t work. The console throws and error of ‘Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)’ and the website never displays and error or succes message. The JavaScript console on Chrome says that the error is on the subscribe.php file. I changeg the permission’s server from 0755 to 0775 but still not working. Any thoughts on what is causing the problem? Thanks!

Hi, thank you very much for purchasing Finely. Please could you raise a ticket on our support desk (https://cosmiclabs.ticksy.com) and let us know the URL of your site and also please attach the contents of your settings.php file so we can check for any issues.

Many thanks, CosmicLabs

Hi, thank you for replying, I tried to reach out to the link provided but it is not working, it says that the website is under maintenance. Any other place where I can reach out to?. The website I’m trying to get to work is axend.co . Thanks!

Hey there, Nice work with the page. Is there a way to hide the count down?

Hi dave99,

Thank you for your interest in Finely. It’s very easy to hide the countdown – all you need to do is change one setting and its hidden automatically.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards, CosmicLabs

Great job. Please would insert into the contact form is a box for the phone number. Could I please help?

Thank you for purchasing Finely. In order to add a phone number field to the contact form, quite a few files need to be changed. Please could you submit a ticket on our support site https://cosmiclabs.ticksy.com/submit/ so that we can explain the changes in more detail and send you the altered code more easily.

Thanks

hallo cosmicslab!! I cannot understand why the contact form doesn’t work… I have changed all the settings as in the documetnation but still… I have also changed email in order to see if maybe it was a mistake typing somewhere but… nothing to do…

Once I have properly modified the three datas in settings.php: $yourEmail, $yourName and $siteName of course after = and ‘value’ it still doesn’t work…

May you suggest me something about? Thank you! Bye!!

Hi easyjet,

Thank you for purchasing Finely, I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the contact form – and I’m sorry we couldn’t reply to you more quickly.

There are several possible causes that could prevent the contact form from working – either there is a small error in one of your files, there is a problem on your server which prevents emails being sent, or if you are running the files locally (i.e. not on a web server) the contact form won’t work.

If possible, please can you submit a ticket at https://cosmiclabs.ticksy.com/submit/ and please do the following:

1). let us know the URL to your site 2). attach your settings.php file

Using this information we will take a look over everything and check for any problems with your site or files. If we find an issue, we should be able to explain a solution to you relatively quickly. If your files are fine and there is still something preventing the contact form from working, we’ll work with you to sort it out.

Many thanks, James

Hello,

on mobile and small screens your template behaves with a little “bug”.

To reproduce please do the following on your desktop browser:

Scroll on the homepage as far to the bottom as possible and click on e.g. about. When the about-page is loaded you have to scroll to the top first, but it should show the page starting form the top.

Can you fix that please?

Just wanted to let you know – the latest update is finished and has been submitted to Themeforest. It should be available to download within the next few days.

As soon as the latest update is available to download, we will release instructions about how to update to the latest version without losing your content or settings. Please check back here to see a comment including instructions.

Thank you very much for the quick fix. We were just notified that the new version is available for download. Regarding instructions: just replace the js-scripts?

Hi imig, you can find the instructions here: https://cosmiclabs.ticksy.com/article/4810/

Because we bundled some other changes/fixes which had been requested from other users into one larger update, quite a few files have changed, so you’ll need to follow all of the steps in the above guide in order to have everything working properly.

Let us know if you need further support.

Hola:

Hello:
I purchased your template, it’s great.
I’d like to help in a problem that I have.
I have a website running on the Internet.
I’m testing with mail and subscribe. As I have to translate it with Google the Spanish do not know if I do it properly.
I do not understand very well what I have to put in these two sections:
-----
$siteName = ‘Finely Under Construction <hello@emailofmysite.com>’;

$emailFrom = “Finely Under Construction <hello@emailofmysite.com>”;
Thanks

Disculpe. Ya me funciona.

Just to clarify, the $yourEmail and $myEmail variables are where you set the email address which the contact form or email subscriptions will be sent to (i.e. your address where you want to receive the emails).

I hope this helps, please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks :)

Solucionado. Muchas gracias por todo.

Hi,

I’ve set up a html page. But I’m currently using the subscription form provided in this theme. I’ve imported the files over and set everything accordingly. But it doesnt seem to be working. Can you help me troubleshoot it? Please advice

Here’s my link http://walkietalkie14.com/

Tq.

Somehow I got it to work. But it take very long to load the success messages / error message. And the screen shows successful but it didnt sent any email over to mine.

Please advice.

Alignment of the messages are out as well.. Tq.

Hi, thank you for purchasing Finely.

I’m not sure why the form is going so slowly. Please get in touch with us at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk so we can ask you some more detailed questions to help solve the problem.

The alignment issues on your site are caused by styles from Finely still being used in the CSS you imported, which isn’t neccessary for your template. Try changing some styles such as the width and margins to try and sort this out.

Thanks :)

I configured the mailchimp settings but when i test i get this error :

“Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 405 (Method Not Allowed)”

No problem, glad you got it fixed.

Try opening the countdown.js file, then at the bottom of the file delete the two instances of this code:

if ($(window).height() < $('.title').outerHeight()) {
    $('.mini-container.main-mini-container').css("height", "auto");
    $('.section-main').css("height", "auto");
    $('.title').addClass('smallHeight');
}
else {
    $('.mini-container.main-mini-container').css("height", "100%");
    $('.section-main').css("height", "100%");
    $('.title').removeClass('smallHeight');
}
This code is inside $(window).resize(function() and $(window).load(function() at the bottom of the file, make sure to delete the above section of code from each function.

Hopefully this will solve your problem. If it doesn’t, please send a link to your site to support@cosmiclabs.co.uk and we’ll do our best to find a solution to the problem.

Thanks

Thank you just what i needed :)

No problem :)

Hi,

I am only stuck with one thing, the contact form. I added my e-mail address to the index.html, but I don’t receive any e-mails from the form.

Should I change the e-mail address in an another file? I couldn’t find where to change it in contact.php

Thanks again for this great elegant template!

Hi,

Thank you for purchasing Finely.

All of the settings for the contact and subscribe forms are in the settings.php file. The places where you need to enter your email are labelled with code comments.

Please refer to this section of the documentation for more information: http://cosmiclabs.co.uk/demo/finely/docs/#contact

If you would like further assistance, please contact us at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk

Thanks :)

Thank you so Much! This is the best support I have seen in years!

You deserve more than 5 stars! Please release a full Website template, we LOVE your style and CLEAN code. Really impressed man, thank you and GLWS!

Thank you very much for the kind words, and for the very nice review! We’re so glad you like our items :)

Our next couple of templates will still be Under Construction sites, but we have plans for full templates at some point in the relatively near future.

Thanks again for the nice feedback!

Hi, this one is great but on Blackberry Z10 the website is not loading. It gets stuck on the 4 boxes spinning… I had to exclude the video and stay with the background pictures. Can you help me with this?

Hi,

Thank you for purchasing Finely.

Unfortunately the background video won’t work on any mobile device, due to restrictions from the devices and YouTube. However, the Finely script should automatically revert to the slideshow background if you have the video enabled but view the site on a mobile (so that you don’t see the constant loading screen) – for some reason from your description it sounds like the revert to slideshow background is not working on Blackberry devices. I’ll take a look to see if I can find any bugs in the Finely code, and will let you know if I find a solution.

Thanks :)

Hi,

Really great template!

How can I change the default language of the countdown from English to French please? I have changed the index.html file and replaced “days”, “hours”, “minutes”, “seconds”, to their french equivalent. However, it’s not reflected in the actual published site. It still displays them in English.

Should I change another file? (CSS or JS?)

Thanks, other than that, everything works perfect!

Hi,

To change the language of the countdown, open up the countdown.js file, and look for a section of code (lines 28-31, under the code comment about languages) which contains lines of code like this:

if (days == 1) { element.find(".time_Days").text("day"); } else { element.find(".time_Days").text("days"); }

This is the JavaScript which updates the text of the countdown. To change the language, edit the .text("day") and .text("days") values. There are two different versions to include the plural words (i.e. so when only 1 second is left, the text shows ‘second’ – whereas other times it displays as ‘seconds’).

Repeat the steps above for each line of code in that section – for days, hours, minutes and seconds.

We realise this isn’t the easiest way to change the countdown language, and that the HTML code can be a little misleading – we will aim to provide a better solution to this problem in the next update of Finely.

If you need further help with this, please contact us at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk.

Thanks for the kind words, and I hope this helps.

Perfect! It worked like a charm. Thank you! Very clean code otherwise :) Please release some full website templates, we love your work and we’d like to get some more of it. Thanks!

Glad it worked, and again thanks for the kind words :)

We’re working on some new templates – stay tuned!

Hi there,

I’m having an issue with the font displaying properly on mobile device, its defaulting to Arial. I provided the link below…Not sure where I went wrong. I know I have everything in its proper place. Thanks in advanced.

http://blakeacosta.com/vsb/

Hi,

Thank you for purchasing Finely.

We’ve checked your site and found the problem – you’ve changed the font family to Lato throughout your site, but haven’t updated the Google Fonts Import code – which means any devices which don’t have Lato installed already will see the default Arial font.

Look for this line in the header of your index.html file:

<link href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:400,700%7COpen+Sans:300,400" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

Change it to this (I’ve added in Lato for you):

<link href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:400,700%7COpen+Sans:300,400%7CLato:400,700" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

Hopefully this will sort out the problem for you. If you need further support, please get in touch at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk for more detailed help.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the help, I was wondering if I could change the loader from the white squares to crowns? I have a vector image of a crown I would like to use – if possible.

You can either use your own GIF animation for the loader by editing settings in the custom.js file, or you could add crowns to the spinning squares by editing some CSS.

If you’d like assistance with this, please let us know at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk.

Thanks :)

This is a great theme with good documentation and is extremely user-friendly to use. I have enjoyed working on it very much.

Thank you.

Thank you very much, glad you like it :)

Hi,

Today I received notice that an updated version of finely is available for download. Can you provide more info about the update? Is it something critical? My Finely site is up and I don’t want the content to reset if I reinstall it with the new version. Is there another way to install an update without losing existing content?

Also, a feature request: can you add an elegant captcha to the contact form?

This is a beautiful, well documented and easy to use template by the way. I’m very happy with it.

Thanks!

Hi issmata,

Thank you for your kind words about Finely, and please accept our apologies for being slow to update the change log.

This update is fairly critical, as it fixes some bugs with the video background. If you don’t use the YouTube video background, don’t bother with this update. However, if you do use it, it’s recommended that you update to this version.

You can update Finely without having to start from scratch – all you need to do is download the update from Themeforest, then copy the css/style.css and js/jquery.mb.YTPlayer.js files, then upload those two files to your server, replacing the old versions from your current site. Provided you haven’t edited the style.css file, this won’t affect your content. If you need further help doing this, get in touch with us at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk.

Regarding the contact form – thank you for your suggestion, however Finely already has a spam prevention system in place which reduces the need for Captcha. It has a hidden input which is not visible to users, but is still seen by spam-bots. The contact form only goes through when this input is empty (which proves a real user) – so when an automatic spam-bot comes along and fills every input up with spam URLs and text, the form will not validate (read more here: http://nfriedly.com/techblog/2009/11/how-to-build-a-spam-free-contact-forms-without-captchas/ ). This means the server is able to tell between humans and spam-bots, stopping almost all spam emails going through. I hope this meets your requirements – although please let us know if you feel this is not working strongly enough and you are still receiving spam messages – we’ll talk you through some alternate spam prevention methods.

Thank you again for your kind words and feedback. If you ever need any support or have other suggestions or bug reports, please feel free to get in touch at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk.

Thanks :)

That’s great. Thanks for the quick and thorough response!

No problem. Thanks :)

why does everyone insist on adding the stupid countdown?? i don’t want that!

It’s ok, you can remove the countdown from Finely. If you need help doing so, contact us at support@cosmiclabs.co.uk and we’ll explain how.
