Hi, the error is with a file in wp-admin which is core WordPress, separate from the theme. It’s most likely a permissions issue. The requirements for auto update in WP are outlined here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#One-click_Update
If you’re not familiar with changing file permissions, you should contact your host who should be able to assist with the issue. Cheers!
Well, I installed the child theme. Activated the Child Theme. Then hit the one click update and it worked! I am now updated to WP4.1 Child Theme was not available when I originally purchased this theme. Noticed it when looking for a theme update. All is well that ends well. Not sure why the update worked with Child theme over Parent. But it seems it was the theme vs. wp-admin (core to WP)

To answer your question, you can make use of the Excerpt field which does not filter HTML. For further support, even if they are sticklers they should be able to copy/paste the purchase code to you so you can confirm it with us. Cheers!

Is there a way to give mobile users access to the full desktop version of the website? I want the responsive website to be the default but some mobile users want to “Click here to see desktop version” and then have the full website on their mobile device.
Hi David, thanks for your question. This is not built into the theme but you could customize to make it work. Essentially you have the @media queries in the CSS that cause the site to be adaptive / responsive. You can setup a button that creates a cookie and then check to see if that cookie is set, if so override the @media queries appropriately. It would take some css and php knowledge but I believe that it’s possible. We will talk about adding this to the theme features in the future. Thank you!

Hi tornishca, we actually don’t support woocommerce with this theme, however we have provided buyers with a php file that gets them started using woocommerce. 1. We provide the option for a full screen background image or tile, but if you want more than 1 background that would be custom. It’s possible to have multiple backgrounds with CSS3, so you could look into it- here’s an article: http://bit.ly/1zvAG7e
2. That’s not anything we’ve seen before, and the file doesn’t appear to be a part of the theme or WordPress even. Do you have another CMS or something installed related to blogging that may be conflicting?

Hmm.. my mobile just went out.. All i have been doing is changing the background image, and added some custom css rules (see below) and for some reason the mobile menu is gone on desktop, the entire website is missing on tablet. Cell is Ok.

YES – You don’t need to include lunch specials or the wine list. They can be easily removed. You can use any widget in that area (above or below the navigation). Our blogfeed short code is not formatted for the sidebar, but I’m sure you can find a plugin that suits your needs. You can always use the plain text widget anywhere on the sidebar.

The 6 colours that you have control over are for the entire website, but you can also customize the sidebar, background colour, background image tile etc… There is a lot you can do with the admin options and even more with the custom css option.

Hi, the theme is designed around the 1140px grid. The non-responsive version however is a bit more narrow. Do you have the responsive functionality enabled?
I do have it enabled. Maybe its me having 27” monitors and not being used to the sidebar menu The main page area just seems small.
That’s true, 27” monitors are basically on the highest end of the spectrum of sizes users browse on. That being said if you’d like to you could try adding the following to your child theme or the Custom CSS box under Theme Options and see if you prefer the sizing:
.row {max-width: 1280px !important;} Note that it will widen both the sidebar and the content area because it’s a percentage based grid. Cheers!

Yup, you have to click on the permalinks settings page to switch between event plugins , sorry. Try that.
I would like to have the new events pro show up in the right column. if I set the default template it just opens a new page with events with bad css choices. If i specify the ‘events’ template it doesnt find any events. Cant I send private login so you can look?

Hi is the image background feature NOT tile in the older version of the theme? If not I need to update the theme. I unfortunately used the parent theme as main….and I am afraid that the update will effect the website.

Yes, it should be there, so the version you are using does not support the stretching the background image.

You could try it out and see if it works, or you could upgrade (best solution) and use WinMerge to detect file changes. That way you can identify where your customization were made and you will have the latest and greatest.

It’s not built-in but the background image is displayed within a CSS ID selector, so a jquery script that changes background images would work nicely. Here is a working example on http://jsfiddle.net/ZnAqE/1/. You’ll need some scripting knowledge but you can also ask us to consult with you if it turns out to be outside of your comfort level.

Yes, everything looks really good in all devices except Ipad Air. You only see a small part of the navigation(left sidebar). It’s like the responsive adjustment not work.

Hi, I wish to display the tabbet menu, I have six menugroups, that shoud appear per tabs on the page, but only the content of five tabs appears on the page. Is the count of tabs predefined, how can I put all six menugroups into one page?

Hi voemian, those that have upgraded can access the toolbar and shortcode buttons which makes me think that it’s related to your install. Perhaps your browser is caching some old javascript files? Can you try from a different browser or from chromes incognito mode? Cheers!
I do not understand how can it be a problem with old javascript files, if i’ve just upgraded Wordpress 4.0 and Eatery Theme. Also I use Mac and I’ve installed iOSX two days ago… And my client, with windows xp, can’t see the toolbar either…
Before you answer me, I solved the problem by adding this “code -> define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false);” in wp-config.php.
And I could change the size of the main menu, you don’t answered me about this , text by inserting this CSS code in the custom CSS:
#sidebar #the-side-menu ul li a {
font-size: 16px;
}

As for the toolbar, from my research, it seems like it’s something to do with the WordPress upgrade. Other people have been reporting issues with their upgrade of WordPress. I don’t believe it’s an issue with Eatery. I see that some are saying the CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS trick works but makes their admin run slower. It’s good that you resolved the issue. Hi Maria, what size is your tablet? Depending on the screen resolution the site will shape shift to your mobile screen size.
Øh.. I think it is 9,7 it’s because I think it will look better with the design from smartphone on the tablet size, but i’m not sure how to do it?
It would be possible, but there isn’t a super quick way since the responsive functionality is incorporated into different areas of the site. It would take some customizing of multiple files.
