Unfortunately i didn’t do any tests with such a plugin so i cannot recommend you one, sorry. I suggest that you post the same question on the forum section, you may get some feedback from someone who uses a similar plugin. You can also try to enable only Visual Composer and one of the plugins (disable the rest) and see if it works.

There’s no default option for galleries, sorry, you have to configure it manually for each post. The alternative would be to make a search and replace in the database but it’s a risky option so i suggest that you backup the database before trying this – https://wordpress.org/plugins/search-and-replace/

Without the visual editor there is no problem but with the visual editor buttons are large and black.

Not sure how you would want it but you could use VC page builder and the custom menu widget.

Create a menu from appearance > widgets using the WordPress menu system to add your categories then use the custom menu widget to get the menu on the page.

the theme does not support hand picked posts in slides / grids. You can try to filter them by using a tag and set the grid to only display that tag but the sorting order is a bit limited.

It does thank you. Just a couple clarifications:

The media support, I meant for Buddypress. Will members have access to upload photos/media from the front end, or will that be handled by a plugin.

For the featured images, I meant will it scale the featured image to fit in that spot or does it do a hard crop? What happens if I upload a featured image bigger than 640×400?

1. BuddyPress by default does not support image uploads. Our theme styles the default installation.

2. the featured image will be cropped (smaller). WordPress does not support image scratching yet so it cannot make them bigger. Most of the theme’s blocks will look nice with 640×400 or bigger. The crop is made by copying the original image.
