Thanks for your interest in OpenMail & Everix Mail, yes both are editable in Mailchimp’s visual editor (using in Mailchimp covered in the documentation), but they don’t have any merge tags, all merge tags you will need are unsubscribe, view online, and forward to a friend which you can insert easily from merge tags dropdown menu in the editor.

You don’t have to deal with the code unless you want to duplicate/delete a content row then you can easily copy and paste the code (in the code editor), all rows are starting and ending with code comments so should be very easy to locate them.
