Hi. When I asign an image as header logo, the navigation menu comes out on the header foreground. How do I change the position of the menu so that it appears either below the header, or at the top right or top left of the header?

I’m not sure if I’m just missing it or what, but where do I go to add the social icons across the top? I added the demo content and most everything loaded fine. The only option I see for customizing the header is for adding an image. Thanks!

You are actually the first person to raise any concerns about the theme setup, many of our customers have said it’s been very easy. However, would you find it beneficial if we posted a “Theme Setup” video on our YouTube channel for Preface?
In answer to your question. If you install the demo content you can set it up just like the demo, following the steps in the documentation. However, setting up the homepage from a blank or existing site is also quite straight forward and is detailed in the documentation provided. In order to reorganise the homepage items, you can install the recommended plugin, Intuitive Custom Post order. This then allows you to drag and drop the rows, straight from the homepage items screen.

I think I got the plugin in the themes folder.
That is because you were loading the child theme. If you switch to the main theme you would be able to install, then with back to the child theme again but I’m glad you’ve got it working now

I’m trying to create a page using the Default Template with Sidebar-on – and the total (max) width of the page content – the .inner column and the sidebar combined – is about 760px. How can I amend the CSS to get a fuller width layout? Thanks.

Hi there, the slider height changes based on the height of what you add in to it. It is completely unrelated to any dynamic content on the theme so you have full control over the images you use and the URLs you link to.

Hi there, thanks for purchasing. I’m not entirely sure that I understand the question. The book pages are individual posts/pages and are dynamically linked through to the homepage “Books” slider. You can add any link you like to the main menu.

I have purchased the theme and it will not download. It says css files are missing. I’ve downloaded is as I have all other wordpress themes. I can’t seem to get help on this product though I’ve tried. Please advise.
It sounds like you are trying to upload the entire download file from Themeforest which includes documentation, demo import and child theme. You need to unzip that zip and then upload the preface zip file in “Theme” folder. Please let us know if you are still stuck and thanks for purchasing.
Hello, I liked your theme. My client can offer her books to read online or download? Functions as an e-book your theme? Or just selling?
Hi there. There is no online read or download functionality built in, you just list your books and add the buttons for what networks and marketplaces you use to sell them.
Any chance you can add Goodreads to the list of Social Header/Footer Options in a future update? It’s one of the most important social platforms for authors and readers.

Correct. I have seen other templates use just the lower case “g”. I have also seen other author templates include an option for the author’s Amazon Author page in the social buttons. Here is a link to an example of both: http://www.authorlicious.com/ look for the icons on the left.

I would like to purchase this them but need clarification on the following:
Basically, I wish to use it for a newspaper subscription project in which the publishers will be able to upload their digital version (PDF) daily which will be converted to flipbook for paid subscribers (read-only). The subscription will be for category, not individual item.
1. Can it work that way on the theme? 2. Can the flip book be generated automatically from the digital PDF? 3. Can I protect the ebook /flipbook from being saved or downloaded by the reader? So that it can only be read online based on subscription 4. Can thumbnails be generated on the fly for the first page of each PDF upload?

Hi there, it sounds like you are after some custom functionality there. Preface does not cover any of that type of functionality, it is something you’d need to find from a plugin or plugins or a bespoke development project.

I have a client that is an author and needless to say, this theme appears to be a perfect match for her. I have a couple of questions that I need to ask first.
1. Can we use a custom image as the background for the theme? 2. Is there a way to get ‘testimonials’ on the home page? 3. I noted on the Book Landing Pages that there are no navigation menus. Can that be added or is that meant to be a ‘one-stop’ marketing page for upcoming book releases? 4. Can I add various galleries? The author attends a number of ‘discussions’ and and ‘events’ which means we would need to be able to create separate photo galleries or gallery pages for each event…

Hi, thanks for looking here are the answers to your questions
1. Yes, if you look in the demo and press the customize button you can see all of the options available (you just cant upload an image in demo mode)
2. Yes, you can add these to the slider homepage item or the testimonials homepage item
3. There are no navigation menus on the landing page, they are meant for upcoming books and announcements – and yes you can upload a different image each time you create a landing page, if you look at the demo there are 3 background images in use.
4. You can utilise WordPress galleries for this in page/post or use the gallery format post type for blog posts with a gallery slider in them, like http://preface.wpengine.com/preface/2014/02/i-bought-a-camera/

Can you tell me if there is a way to turn the ‘FILTER” button/function off on the Book page? At the moment, there is no need for such a sort option. There’s only a few books listed at the moment so sorting them by category is not really relevant. Thanks
Hi there, you can raise a support request still with your clients purchase code at http://meanthemes.ticksy.com. When you don’t add any books to any categories the filter should not show. However, it does which is a bug which we are fixing right now.

Since most of the people I know have only written one ebook, it would be nice to see this theme as an example showing one ebook as a design instead of several. I am looking for an example landing page with one ebook. It is hard for me to justify spending $48 unless I can see an example here. FYI. A sale lost. Moving on. PS. The theme design is nice.
The theme can of course be set up for a single book or ebook but most of our Literary theme purchasers were multiple book authors ao we felt it was better to set it up to show the most that it can do.
