Hi,
I was wondering how to slow down the slideshow on the main page? and use a static image instead of a slideshow?
Thanks.
Hi,
To adjust the slideshow delay go to line 335 of redink.js and adjust the delay property:
delay:4000
Thanks, Greg
Can the menu bar be open at all time?
Hi,
Yes these are 3 options to choose from regarding the menu opening, you can choose to show it all the time, only once when a user first visits the site as in the preview or never, these options are detailed in the documentation.
Thanks, Greg
When there’s only 1 carousel item, how do you stop the carousel from continually looping?
Hi,
Please send me an email via my profile page and I’ll add a fix for that.
Thanks, Greg
The menu does not work if you click the bottom 80% of the graphic
On iPhones and iPads
Works great on iPad3 & iPhone5. So far I had no issues at all incl. menu bottom part.
One thing though – in portfolio view pagination doesn’t work but I guess it’s just not set up in demo mode
Hi,
Thanks for your feedback, yes I did fix the menu issue a few hours ago on the demo and it should be approved for download shortly, I’ll write a note when it is.
For the pagination you are right, I just set some dummy urls for the demo.
Thanks, Greg
Great theme LGLab.
What’s the go with the menu though; it’s not a standard responsive menu is it? It doesn’t work at all on a desktop if the browser is resized. And on a iPhone/iPad it looks really hacky like one menu is hidden behind the other.
Apart from the menu, it’s an excellent and unique theme.
Hi,
The menu is coded so it triggers the native navigation system of the phone, it’s not a hack, I just think it’s the best approach, so yes it’s a select html element behind a graphic as it is not possible to style a select html tag.
Technically the menu doesn’t need to work on desktop if you view the template on mobile sizes, as it is not a real world situation.
Thanks, Greg
This is a great theme Greg, but it’s a really hack menu.
It’s super-hacky on touch screens [iPhones and iPads] as ~80% of the graphic doesn’t trigger the menu. Only the hidden select element does, but it’s only the top ~20% of the graphic.
If I view the template at half-screen on a MacBook Air the menu doesn’t work, at all. And even worse, visually, it looks to be a functioning menu, but nothing happens when you click it.
It’s presumptuous to dictate to what is and isn’t a “real world situation”. Especially when a real user stumbles across a real menu issue when really using your theme.
Hi,
Well it is certainly not supposed to be that problematic, so maybe I’m missing something. What you are describing about touch screens is a bit strange so I’ll check that out, as it works perfectly fine on my android devices and it worked fine when I tested on iphone last time, so maybe something broke since.
Regarding desktop view, the menu as you see it on fullscreen should behave that way down to 768px window width (up to when the logo/menu becomes a grey bar fixed at the top), under that resolution, the menu should still trigger a dropdown menu on desktop (which actually triggers native navigation on mobile devices).
What I meant by real world situation, is that in this case you are a previewing a template on desktop and are resizing it to small size (under 768px width)to test the responsiveness of it, as a potential buyer, which real world users wouldn’t do when going to a website.
Anyway, I’m quite happy to tweak it and improve the menu as I take your feedback seriously, it’s just that I have not witnessed what you are describing, so if you are interested in this template and would like me to improve the menu please send me an email via my profile page so we can discuss the behaviour you are seeing.
Thanks, Greg
The hidden HTML element is 17px high.
The menu graphic is 75px high.
The menu works if you touch the top 20% of the graphic.
The menu does not work if you click the bottom 80% of the graphic.
- On iPhones and iPads
Ok that is definitely not the behaviour intended but I think I know what is happening, would you mind sending me an email so I can show you and confirm a possible fix?
Thanks, Greg
Hi,
This should be fixed now.
Thanks, Greg
Has the menu update rolled through to the live demo Greg? I can see it works better on the iPhone and iPad now, but it’s still a hacky menu solution that shows both menus all of the time. Isn’t the premise of responsive menus to adapt to the screen, not to show both versions 100% of the time, just with one version hidden behind a design element?
Hi,
Please send me an email to discuss this further.
Thanks, Greg
Please remove the ENVATO iFRAME in order to preview this template correctly. The ENVATO iFRAME prevents the template from being responsive and on mobiles it makes the menu button a lot smaller than it actually is!
Love all the elegant transitions. Great work guys!
Thanks man
Very nice design. Would be perfect for my next projet. I checked it out on the iphone and the navigation is hardly responding. Any ideas on that? Thanks.
Figured it out – you have to push the left upper corner of the menu item.
Hi,
It works fine here, however make sure to remove the top black bar from the preview to view the template on mobile as that iframe is causing it to behave differently.
Thanks, Greg
Love this theme… works really well in Demo – Question re the blog – how easy is it to configure (for user replies) and do you have to write the blog in html editor ? ie Dreamweaver.
Hi,
RedInk includes a functional comment system using Disqus, you can see and try it out on this page: http://www.lglab.co.uk/redink/blog-single-disqus.html – It is really easy to setup and I have included directions to do it in the help file. The code is already setup in the page, so all you have to do is register for free with Disqus and replace my username with yours.
As this is a HTML template the content can be added in a any text editor such as Dreamweaver but also free ones such as Notepad++ or SublimeText.
If you need any help feel free to email me via my profile page.
Thanks, Greg
Greg, thanks for the reply – off to buy it
...
Its a really lovely theme.
Thanks
M.
Thank you
