hello, a client of me has the Rocket Board theme. we moved now to a new server with php7 and i cant update the Rocket Board. Do you have an idea to solve the problem?

Please try to do FTP upload in this case if you can’t access the dashboard.

The problem is i doesn`t get full access to the dashboard – so i have to upload via FTP. But we dont have any contact to the person who bought the theme and i cant download it with my account. So i guess I have to buy a new theme?!

The only way to get the update is to let the purchaser to obtain from their Themeforest account. Otherwise, you may have to purchase a new license then.

Does the theme support rtl ?

We don’t have RTL in theme option. You have to customise css directly in this case. Please check this out : https://codex.wordpress.org/Right-to-Left_Language_Support

2. Sorry, there’s no built-in option for this.

4. You can link the portfolio images to other content like Youtube/Vimeo videos. This can be seen on the ‘Quam Purus’ portfolio on the demo homepage.

Is this theme secure? I have had a site built with this theme for about 4 years. It got hacked at one point, and I wondered whether it was due to this theme or related plugins. There was no update for this theme for quite a few years. And now the most recent version is July 2018.

I have run “theme check” which I never usually use, however theme check suggests there are several vulnerabilities in the theme. Are there any plans to address these? I do not want to spend lots of time trying to rebuild this website on another theme. I just want to know that it will not be exploited again. Whether it was due to this theme originally or not.

Regarding Theme Check, I just run the test and most warning is not security related but the guideline to implement following their practice. (Practice changes all the time when time goes by as this theme developed couple years ago.)

However, you can still use the theme as usual.

Here at GoodLayers, we take it really serious about security issue. So, before we launch every of our themes, we will make sure that it will not have such vulnerabilities.

As I discussed about your issue with our developer, we can ensure that the problem won’t come from our theme for sure.

1. When we create themes, we do not create any custom functions to communicate with database. We only use it via WordPress’s function only so at this point, it will be on the WordPresss itself.

2. The vulnerabilities can caused by third party unreliable script that contact to third party url. In this case, we only use the script that contact to Google(to pull Google font) and Google is surely reliable source.

3. Before launching the theme, Envato will perform the theme reviewing including the checking of inappropriate coding. So they will ensure that all themes sold on the market place will be coded by following the best practice of WordPress theme creation and also they will reject the theme if the code include such a vulnerability.

However, these are possibilities of the infection.

1. Using share hosting, share hosting (or maybe bad hosting) can caused such an issue. When other customer’s site that is on the same hosting(shared) of yours get infected, your site will have a high risk then. I can confirm this by experience. I used to use some cheap local hosting and it’s not quite good. Some customers’ sites got infected and my site was infected too. After cleaning viruses, it didn’t go away but after I switched hosting(I switched to Media Temple at that time.), the problem was completely cleared.

2. Vulnerabilities in third party plugins. This is one of the most popular reason that cause WordPress site’s infection. Make sure that you use the plugins that are well implement with best practice of WP plugins creation and notice that the plugins are updated time to time to ensure that they keep fixing bugs and patching vulnerabilities.(We do this with our products all the time.)

3. Bad permission folder setting on your server. Make sure that it’s securely set. 644 is recommended for php files and 755 is recommended for the folder. By missing the good setting can let hackers to edit files.

4. Password leaks. Make sure that you set the very strong password for admin role, CPanel, Database password, etc…

There can be other reasons for these but it will be good to have these things checked. Our demos and our site have A LOT of traffic in each days so if you get hacked by our themes, our server should be hacked by now but nope, it hasn’t happened to us. Also, we have more than 130,000 customers using our themes but very very rare like your cased reported. (like 2-3 times only)

There’re also some tips from me.

1. You can try using security wp plugin : https://kinsta.com/blog/wordpress-security-plugins/

2. It will be much even better if you use DNS with security feature. You may check out CloudFlare service. It’s quite useful. (Our site use DNS service with WAF feature from StackPath can service.)

GTMetrix says my site has 13 external stylesheets and I should combine them into one to reduce the number of HTTP requests. To fix this do I need to tweak the code within the theme? Or purchase extended support? Thanks :D

Actually, this is nothing to do with the theme. The theme itself shouldn’t combine it since the first place.

However, regarding this, it’s all about the caching plugin that you use. You can configure from the caching plugin.

Will there be any issues with Wordpress 5.0 and Gutenberg? Should I wait for a new theme update before updating to 5.0 you think? Thanks!

Please make sure that you update the theme to latest version in order to use with WP5.0. Also, by updating the theme, please make sure that you update GoodLayers’ Plugins as well and please clear browser cache after updating.

Nope, it’s fine with SSL.

1. In Setting > General , make sure that you put ‘https’ in front of your WordPress Address and Site Address.

2. Use this plugin : https://wordpress.org/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/

3. Make sure that all your images that called via html code ( img tag ) in footer, sidebar, widget areas and in wp editor are called with https

The main problem im having is the header/ stunning text is categorized as not secure. My host tech support said it was on the themes end but maybe that plugin will fix it, thanks!

Add media buttons don’t work anymore for me. When i click the button i see this error in the console: TypeError: wp.media is undefined

It looks like your theme is preventing the WP media scripts from being enqueued. It think is something wrong with TinyMCE, because content can’t be formatted anymore too.

Everything worked good for years, but now it doesn’t. If i change the theme, the buttons work.

Also, if i try to update a post, i get a blank page.

Hello, I’m interested in buying your metro wp template. As far as I understand from the demo I can arrange the tiles however I want (I need 3 rows of tiles with 4,2 and 3 columns respectively) which will have static content (will direct to static posts). But I’m not sure if I can make them look the way I want to. I’d like them to show static picture with text and on hover I want different text and/or image to appear from behind the tile (fade in). Additionally I would like to have drop-down menu on hover, on top of the page which will turn to bootstrap navbar(or something similar) when view by mobile devices. Hi, I tried to post a ticket on your own support but it doesn’t work. Api always asking for permission (enabled), each time I select the theme.

Anyway, I’m facing a weird issue, I can’t install the theme, I have the white page of death, each time. Even if I do automatic (zip) installation or by upload. Changing folder name or other tweaks, doesn’t work. Could you please tell me if there is another way?

Sure, you can change the testimonial speed by opening the ’\wp-content\themes\rocketboard\javascript\jquery.cycle.js’ file and adding this code at line #1568:

timeout: 8000,

right after this line:

testimonial_carousel.cycle({ fx: 'fade', slideResize: 1, fit: true, width: '100%',

8000 is in milliseconds , so it’s 8 seconds . Default is 4 seconds. You can change it to any period.

Header logo not updating.

Through the Rocket Board theme options I am trying to update the header logo via Overall Elements > Header/Logo.

I have tried uploading from desktop and using a direct URL link to the logo, but it still displays the Rocket Board logo.​

We recently purchased a copy of the Rocket Board theme and imported your demo content. We noticed that a user with the username: [removed] and email [removed] was created and showed up in our user database. We don’t know if this was an effect from the demo content or if it could possibly be infected code.
