every time wordpress is updates, something drastic goes with it. today just updates to wordpress and also updated all plugins websites many features went off.

HI, You'll have to update the theme and plugins first and then update WordPress last. Updating just WordPress can lead to problems because it is going through major changes since WordPress 5.4.
WordPress 5.5 and 5.6 and going to be major changes. So it is important to update the theme and plugins first.
