Have found that the theme plays very badly with most extensions as it does not follow a lot of standards.

This leads to lots of issues with using other plug-ins.

A lot of excessive css and html code are generated by the theme and builder leading to poor google page speed ranking.

I would definitely spend some time looking at alternatives. Do a bit of research and opt for a theme that provides a page builder that creates cleaner code so that your site is usable if you switch themes.

Unfortunately for me it means starting from scratch because the existing pages are unusable when I remove boldthemes.
