The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
!!!! This is terrible. I have never gotten this message before in my over 10 years of using WordPress.

Hi,
You're getting that message because you're installing it incorrectly. WordPress does not detect incorrect installations, it will give the error you have described if you try to install it wrong.
