Web Developer/ Social Media Mentor

I’ve been diving farther into the world of web design and coding, which I enjoy thoroughly! I received my BA with a graphic design emphasis in December of 2005. I became interested in web design after I graduated and have since learned on my own how to build and manage websites. I am looking to learn all the necessary languages of website coding. Currently, I am working on JavaScript, MySQL, more PHP and learning more about content management systems like WordPress, Joomla! and a few others. I am constantly learning and adapting to the latest technology to better suit my clients.

My previous summers were spent on a glacier in Alaska with 300 sled dogs and 30 mushers and dog handlers. Most are competing in the Iditarod or the Yukon Quest, the two longest sled dog races in the world! I have been working for the company for 7 summers, the past two as manager of the Juneau camp. Basically, we give dog sled tours on a remote glacier, only accessible by helicopter. One of the things I was responsible for was getting the tourists situated after they step off the running helicopters. The rest of the job is managing 25-30 young people living in a remote camp… a lot like Real World on a bigger scale. It was a blast though!

I was born in Laramie, Wyoming, where my folks still live. My parents always encouraged my brother and I to be outside so we spent our childhood running amok. We came to love the outdoors and because of this I have found myself spending a great deal of my free time hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, etc.
