about me

I’m a web site designer/developer who, like many, works in a field that has absolutely nothing to do with what they studied in school. I have always had great passion for graphic design, typography and photography. While I always wanted to work for a magazine I found myself disgruntled with the journalism world and always ended up focusing on working with computers.

I have studied religions in university and witnessed the services of several faiths (mostly Hinduism and Buddhism), all very enlightening and, sometimes, entertaining. Cultural anthropology is also a major interest of mine, where I have concentrated on Native American studies (specifically the people of Dinetah) and urban expressions of religion by immigrants (Italian-American Catholicism, Voudou, Santeria).

I like hardcore, punk, rocksteady, skinhead reggae, ska, Oi!, really heavy music, hip hop…hell, I like a lot of music. The really heavy stuff still gets me going, too, so I still have to say the core is my heart (fuck that new guyliner fucking weak-ass shit, though). Also, Beulahland on NE 28th in Portland has great skinhead reggae and Northern soul nights (beulahlandpdx.com) on occasion. Swing by if that’s yer thing and you happen to be in town.

I roadied for Shelter back in the winter of ‘92 but never converted to Krishna. I screamed in a couple of bands, one called Dead Center, and another called Warcry from Bloomington, Indiana, and we played all over the Midwest and East Coast. I also played guitar in Shadeland, but not the one using that name in Indianapolis these days. I used to book hardcore shows in Indianapolis and Bloomington, and lost shitloads of money. I made a zine called Reveal and lost a lot of money on that, too. I loved every single fucking minute of it, and made some of the best friends a person could ever have (SHC Family!).

After moving to San Francisco from Bloomington I made it to Europe for a brief time, finally making it out to Portland where I have been for several years now. I hope to head back to Europe/England sometime soon for some Arsenal matches, so, if you live there I might hit you up for sofa or floor space.

I still like skateboarding but I can’t skate at all anymore (imagine that, now that I live in skatepark heaven). So, kids, enjoy it while you can. Not everyone has an insurance plan and doctors like Tony Hawk.

Football is my life. ON YA GUNNERS! RCTID!
