Insert Link Preview from OG Metadata
This WordPress plugin Get OG Data accepts a URL, loads the web page, gathers up the OG metadata from that page and displays a Facebook-like link preview in your article, in one of four formats.
To insert a Link Preview:
- Click the Get OG Data button to display the Get OG panel.
- Select the Post Type: Choose if you want to insert the Link Preview into a page or post.
- Select the post (or page) from the drop-down Posts list.
- Enter the URL in the field below.
- Select a Layout: • Side by side, narrow
- If needed, click Find It: The Link Preview will display.
- If the metadata has multiple images, use the arrow buttons to select an image.
- Click Insert to insert the web page link preview into your page. The link preview will display: • the web page favicon,
• Side by side, wide
• Image at top
• Image at bottom
• the linked URL,
• the page title,
• the full OG description field (a 200 char limit)
• the clickable display image.
Features:
- Image selection option if multiple images are available.
- Tolerates OG metadata errors.
- Returns page information from pages without OG Data.
- Multiple link previews can be repositioned or deleted.
