Help – the subscribe buttons are not showing on the home page. I’d really love for them to be there!
Find it here at http://listen/floridaswimnetwork.com
Hi? Hoping somebody can help me?
Hi there! Please make sure you have not hidden the subscribe buttons. Please go to Theme Options > Front Page > Next Week and make sure that is set to “Show”.
Hello,
I have another issue I need to have addressed. I just created my 3rd post and it is not showing up on the homepage like my first two. You can see the new post in the header banner but not below it like in the theme demo. How can this be fixed.
Please can someone help me out if you had any of my problems?
Thanks, Cliff
I already asked for a URL in my reply to your other question, but again I would need to take a closer look. Please do make sure that you are putting all your podcast posts into your podcast category. Also, make sure you’ve set that category in your theme options. If you’ve already done that and are still having issues please let me know.
Hi,
I’m trying to set up the contact form for this theme, but I can’t seem to find where to do that. Could you help me with this as well?
Thanks
Podcast supports the Contact Form 7 plugin, which is what was used to set up the contact page. Please install the plugin to use the contact form.
Hello,
I just purchased your theme and I was wondering if you can help me with an issue. I created a podcast and uploaded it to the theme, but when I set it to the podcast category it sends it to the blog. How can I fix this?
Thanks Cliff
Also on the front page, there is this thing that reads: Next time on Podcaster and a random episode. Where can I find that to edit it?
Thanks, Cliff
Never mind, I changed the podcaster issue but not the episode 12 issue
I figured out the issue with the random episode 12 issue, I was looking in the wrong place. But my first issue is still an issue, please help.
Thanks
Hi there, sorry for the delay in answering. Please make sure the “Podcast Display in Blog” setting isn’t on. You can find it here: Theme Options > Podcast > Podcast Display in Blog. If you’re still having issues with this let me know, but this should resolve the issue.
Thank you for the response, The “Podcast Display in Blog” box isn’t checked and it still shows up in the blog page. It shows up on my Podcast page, but not in the same way it does in the Blog. In the Blog you can see the player, but in the podcast it looks like an incomplete article with no player. The way it looks in the Blog is how I need it to look like in the Podcast page and at the same time, not show up in the Blog page. Podcast’s for podcast page and Blogs for blog page.
Thank you, Cliff
Could you send me a link of your website so I can take a closer look? Thanks
Hi guys, help asap pls!
Just tried updating my site to WP 4.2.2 and now all my site shows is FATAL ERROR. I can’t even login to the backend, please check it out here: http://filspiration.com/
Your quick response would be much appreciated, thanks!
UPDATE: Site is working now, what I did was comment out the line on Functions.php that was showing in the Fatal Error of get avatar. But now the avatars for the blog authors on the home page isn’t showing perhaps due to the code that I commented out. Please advise, thanks!
Is it possible to restrict the author pages to only display posts from the blog section (excluding podcasts) via the child theme? Thanks for your help!
Another blog related question: how can I edit the “From the Blog” title when displaying blog excerpts on the front page. I’d like to rename it to “In the news…”.
To your first question: You could create an author.php in the child theme directory and write a custom WP_Query to exclude podcast posts. Unfortunately, there is no easier way of doing this at the moment.
For the second question: the file page-frontpage.php on line 615 and 666 contains the text you want to edit. Create a copy for the child theme (even in the child theme it needs to be in a subdirectory called “page”) and edit the two lines. I wish there was an easier was of editing this, but at the moment, this is the only way to do it. We’re working on making Podcaster even more customizable, though.
Child theme will do the trick for now, thanks for your reply!
Hey guys,
Quick question : is it possible to disable the displaying of tags on the main “blog” page? I haven’t find the option anywhere.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Example: http://www.lesclairvoyants.net/news/
At the moment all I can offer is this:
.post .entry-header .entry-date li:last-of-type { display:none; }
Will work on adding this into the theme options though. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks a lot, works like a charm!
And another one from me: Would it be possible to add a new Article-Template? I would like to have a really empty one, no Header, no sidebar, to build Landing pages with them.
Putting this on a future features list, can’t promise anything soon unfortunately, but this sounds like a good idea. Have you thought of using the full width page template for this?
Yes, have and did: http://leben-fuehren.de/abo/landingpage/
The transparent sticky header can stay, but the grey field is to much, I thing.
Okay, thanks for put it on the list
Good Morning
What is the mechanics behind the „Podcast Scheduling“-Feature? I have several posts scheduled, separated in two categories. None of them will be shown, so I need to add the title manually in the Fild “Preview Heading”. If I leave it empty, the text “Episode 12: A Long Walk in the Forest” will be shown.
And Info appreciated, where the content of this field is expected to come from.
Thanks a lot and have a nice day
OLAF
Hi there! The scheduled post feature simply displays the title of the post that is next (by date) to be posted. Make sure the post is also in your podcast category, otherwise it will not be displayed. Could this be causing the issue?
Hmmm… That’s what I thought but it doesn’t work in my system… I have several Posts scheduled, in category Podcast and others. The next to be published is a Podcast one, the category is set in the Themes Podcast-Section, if I leave the field empty, the walk in the forests will be announced. Any Ideas? OLAF
I don’t know what could be causing this. Could you create a dummy account for me and send the info to the support email? Then I can take a closer look. Thank you.
okay, did send you a second ago
found anything?
One question: did you ever override “page-frontpage” with a child theme? If yes, you’ll have to update that file with the new “page-frontpage” file (after re-applying your customizations obviously). That could be what is causing the issue here. Let me know if that helps!
okay, I see the differences and will fix it asap. What about a list in the changelog, which files have been changed in a new version, to assist us keeping our childthemes up to date? Thanks a lot for your assistance! OLAF
Sounds like a good idea, thanks!
Hi Folks I love the theme. I developed the theme on local development setup with MAMP however I lost some of the theme options when I upload the site to my live server area.
I get a red warning message on the plugin page Redux Framework “Deactivate Demo Mode” I wonder if this why logo and some color changes are not working?
Hi there! Could you tell me the version of Podcaster as well as the Redux Framework you are using? The Redux Framework plugin recently went through some huge updates, so this could be the reason the export of settings didn’t go over well.
I want to use the Jetpack plugin sharing feature where it sticks the sharing buttons on all my posts. However, when I turn it on, the episode archive feed also shows the sharing buttons. It looks very wonky and I am wondering if you could make it so that the sharing stuff does not show on the episodes feed.
Hi there, unfortunately Podcaster doesn’t fully support Jetpack features at the moment. However, you could try to use the child theme to hide the social media buttons. Something like this should do the job:
.page-template-page-podcastarchive .classnameofsocialbuttons { display:none; }
Hello ! How do I put a background image on the post that appear on the first page?
http://www.brodcast.com.brcri cri cri
Hey there! To upload the header image go to Theme Options > Front Page > Header Background. You can upload your header image from there. Hope this answers your question and sorry for the delay.
Is anyone experiencing issues with the header player with new posts, after the update?
We’re currently looking into this. Thanks for your patience.
Wordpress 4.2 has broken your theme and we don’t have an option to roll back the wordpress install. Are there any immediate fixes to be able to get at least something on the screen even if it is slightly broken rather than the following error -
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_avatar_url() (previously declared in /home4/upgraded/public_html/wp-includes/link-template.php:3414) in /home4/upgraded/public_html/wp-content/themes/podcaster/functions.php on line 475
An update with a fix is already on the way. For an immediate hotfix, you can open functions.php, and edit line 475. Simply change the name of the function from “get_avatar_url()” to “get_pod_avatar_url()”.
EDIT: Sorry I’m an idiot. That fix worked perfectly.
Looks like WordPress 4.2 (which just came out today) breaks the Podcaster theme. I’m getting this error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_avatar_url() (previously declared in /homepages/41/d106059865/htdocs/revp/wp-includes/link-template.php:3414) in /homepages/41/d106059865/htdocs/revp/wp-content/themes/podcaster/functions.php on line 481
How soon before we can get a fix for this? I’m rolling back to WordPress 4.1.2 in the meantime.
Update should be out in a couple of hours. Thanks!
Hi,
You got this problem 6 months ago. How did you fix it? I have the same problem:
Just purchased this theme. Great work. I have a problem with the plugin Theme Station Podcasting Feed. I get a ‘The plugin does not have a valid header’ when installing. Please help. I have tried both manual and automatic install.
Thanks
May I ask what version of the theme and Theme Station Plugin you were trying to install, just so I can take a closer look? Thanks
Hey Themestation!
2 questions…
1. How do I turn off “developer mode?”
2. I just updated WordPress to V 4.1.2 and the podcast player seems to be displaying incorrectly. Notice the progress bar and the instructional text. http://screencast.com/t/0MYg5S8RKLHwHi there, this was fixed some times ago so please make sure you’re running the newest version of the theme (Version 1.47). If you didn’t get an update notification back-end, please download the theme file from here and re-install it manually. We had some issues with our update system and recently switched to Envato Toolkits for updates. Download the newest version of the theme and you should be covered. The developer mode issue has been resolved in newer versions as well. I hope this answers your questions!
I would like for the featured image on the front page to change automatically to the featured image for the most recent podcast. Is there a way to do that?
Hi there, at the moment there is no way of doing this, unfortunately. Sorry about that, it might be added as a feature in the future.
i’d love to see support for PODLOVE (a great podcast-plugin – the only one with donwload-stats).
i managed to make the custom post types from podlove work with the theme but the player doesn’t work with podlove right now.
Looking into this, thanks for letting us know. At the moment there seems to be some issues with the PodLove Plugin. Can’t get it to install right now. It is definitely on a list of podcasting plugins to support.
Update your changelog! The last update I see is February.
Sorry about that, it’s been done! Changelog within theme files is up to date though.
