Updates are life-time, I think Envato puts a limit of 50 downloads to protect against abuse https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821300-Download-Limit-Reached but that could be extended if you contact them.
Regarding support, Envato was talking about implemented a different system for support on themes, there should be more information on their forum, this new system will affect all the themes on ThemeForest not just my theme when it’s implemented. As of now it’s free and life-time.

Okay, that’s a fair assessment and thanks for the quick response. However, the last time there was a series of e-mails on updates, there were a few updates in the log. This time around I didn’t bother to look at your update log, so my apologies. Thanks for the clarification!

I usually try to space out updates, however sometimes third party plugins like Revolution slider and Visual Composer that are included with the theme do their own updates on their own schedule, then I have to update my theme in order to offer those latest releases (no way to offer those directly because of the licensing). If I delay them too long then some people start complaining that they want those updates, so I really try to find a happy medium here 
What I recommend people do is review the changelog and decide for themselves whether they need to update at this time. If they don’t see any new features that they are interested in or security updates, then they could hold off until a more major update is released.
As for security updates, well, I can’t wait there, have to release them asap.

I’ve gotten four updates in the last 24 hours. What’s going on with this theme. I like the theme, but I can’t trust a theme that has this many updates. How do I know that I am installing the right update?

not sure why you got four notices it was just one update (security update), maybe something was messed up in the Envato system and send out 4 email notifications.
The latest release was 2.7.10, please refer to the Changelog

hi there, i have a problem, my fixed main menu to stay on top is not working in udesign.. how can i fix it? already look at css, the script said the fixed-menu is on.. tq.

you most likely need to update the theme if currently you have an older version, the most recent release is 2.7.9, I have no idea what’s been done to the site/theme by previous developer, what customizations, etc., or possibly this could be a conflict with a third party plugin… but a good start would be to update the theme to latest release.
Once you purchase the theme you’ll have access to the support forum, so just re-post your question there if you still have this issue and we’ll give you further instructions.

Beautiful theme. I like a few others am looking for the demo content XML, in order for a test website to be up and running relatively quickly.

Hello My isp mentions there’s spam in some of the themes’ files (coming from a clean install):

Is there any way I can explain to them it’s a false positive or is it actually something spammy???

actually these two files you’re referencing are not part of the theme, firs time I see them, so yes, most likely those are malicious files. Now, how they got there is another story.
You will most likely need to updates all software (WordPress, themes and plugins), clean up your server/site, change all passwords, install and run some WP security plugin like WordFence.
Make sure that you update your Revolution slider if you’re using it. Last year there was a security issue with it, although many people were notified by Envato/ThemeForest, their hosting providers, and I also did a post on that in the theme’s support forum, there are still people who did not update it and possibly had their site hacked. Not sure if that’s the case with you as you didn’t provide any information on versions used in your site, but that could very well be the case.

Hi, with the change that Googles states “Your site’s mobile-friendliness is now considered as a Google Search ranking signal” i need to use the Responsive feature of Udesign, but personally I have an Iphone and I prefer to view the site in normal full width view.
Basically what im looking for is to create a button that the user can click (when in mobile view) to deactivate (opt out) of the responsive view and view it as if the responsive layout was deactivated.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

I’m afraid I can’t help you with this but only Envato/ThemeForest staff can.
Once the theme is purchased, future updates are free with that account, so the way ThemeForest.net is setup only the owner of that account can have access to the theme that was originally purchased.
Since you’re not in touch with the person that purchased the theme originally, it’s impossible to get updates for that license.
In general, it’s best for the person that owns the website to have purchased their own license of the theme, that way they will be independent of anyone maintaining their website for future updates or access to support forum since the purchase code is required to register in the support forum.

in general the theme will allow you to assign background images on per section basis and even layer them, so usually that’s how you would achieve that boxed layout, it’s straight forward in that. I just tried to download the updated U-Design 2.7.8 from my account and received this error message about too many downloads. Having just discovered this update I can assure you that not only have I NOT tried to download this file more than 20 times in the past 24 hours, I haven’t even had 50 total downloads of all possible versions of U-Design since I purchased it. So…WTF??
I think Envato caps them to 50 downloads, just contact them and they’ll take care of that for you: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Andon, can you just send me the full 2.7.8 zip? Envato has failed to respond and I am getting frustrated. I have too many sites with UD and if this is the way that I am going to be treated as a customer, then if I can’t get updates, I will have to go to another theme and replace UD. It is utter bullshit that a theme would be capped at 50 downloads; hell, you’ve had that many updates since I purchased the theme. It states in your agreement that I am allowed unlimited and lifetime updates of the theme U-Design that I purchased and as such, no one, including myself, should be penalized for downloading updates. This is just stupid and ridiculous on Envato’s part and is prohibiting me from conducting my business for my clients.

Visual Composer was included with the UDesign theme however it is requiring an update. When I enter Visual Composer to edit a text box, the text box edit field simply does not populate. It appears that all other functions are working except for the text box. I assume that this problem is because the plugin needs updated. How can I update this theme without paying for it?
Reading from the plugin comments for Visual Composer it seems that you provide the free update?

I just updated it the other day to version 4.5, however right after I updated it they released a follow up minor update 4.5.1. Looking at the Changelog this one can wait until the theme’s next update, I don’t see anything important in it (security or feature wise) that I need to update the entire theme for it. Unfortunately, because of how the CodeCanyon Licensing is setup I cannot offer the plugin directly, so I need to release theme update in order for me to give you the plugin’s latest release bundled with it. I do frequent updates so probably shouldn’t be too long to get the next one out.
