The path must be relative from the current working directory. So /new/path from your example is an absolute path and a relative example would be new/path or ../new/path.
Try that and let us know if that was the issue.

We have bought your Themekit sometime back and we are using it.
We have found the following issues which we would like your help to fix: 1. The Theme does not work well on IE. 2. The Theme does not work well of on phone and tablets in the landscape mode. 3. On the timeline list, after uploading a video while viewing the video on a device, scrolling does not work. 4. Ajax pagination scrolling is not working.
We anticipate that our primary users will need all the above features and need your urgent help to resolve the above issues.
Appreciate a quick turnaround on the same.

1. Are you using the latest version of ThemeKit?
2. What issues are you having specifically on IE, on what specific theme and pages? Also what versions of IE and operating systems? Screenshots would help.
3. What issues are you having specifically for the landscape mode on mobile and tablets? Screenshots would help.
4. When you say “while viewing the video” do you mean while actually playing thr video on a device?
5. I suspect the scroll issue with ajax is caused by niceScroll that needs to be instructed about the dom changes in the page, so after the ajax request has finished adding the new content on the page, you could trigger a resize on the scrollable elements:
$('[data-scrollable], .st-content-inner').getNiceScroll().resize();
NiceScroll will be removed in the next version and replaced with native scrolling.

I have been trying to get this template to work since yesterday but I keep getting a “Cannot Find Module” error while using the gulp --theme $THEME_NAME commands on my Windows 8.1 system. Tried using two different versions of node.js (v0.12.4 and v0.12.0) and still ended up with the same result.
I tried installing the missing modules using npm install $MODULE, but it kept throwing the same error for different modules every time.
Is there something I am doing wrong or am I missing something? I followed all the steps on the installation page in the documentation and then moved on to the gulp workflow page.
Here are few initial modules which it said it could not find (in order of appearance): vinyl, replace-ext, chalk, dateformat, lodash.template and lodash._reevaluate.

I’m assuming you followed all the installation steps from the documentation, including:
1. npm install 2. node_modules/.bin/npm-install-from --path lib/gulp
It’s possible the initial npm-install-from failed. You could try the following:
- first delete the node_modules directory entirely.
- then run the two npm commands above once again.
- and then try gulp again.
Let us know how that worked.
Yes, I executed both of these. I did get a lot of “Unmet Depenencies” error though.
Anyway, installed the missing modules one by one manually and got it running for now. Will keep working on it and get back if I have some other queries. Thanks anyway for the quick response.

I think all the errors you’ve encountered, even those from the setup might be related to your version of node. Could you run the following and paste the output?
npm --version node --version
npm verion is 2.5.1 node version is v0.12.0
I initially had the latest versions installed, but was getting a lot of issues like the ones I mentioned before. So, I rolled it back to one of the earlier versions (mentioned here). The setup was successful after this, but I am unable to get the gulp tasks to complete.
Could you post the entire error message? Please use pastebin.com or something similar if its large and just post the link here. Have you removed any files from the download? Or have you updated any of the files in the .build directory?
Here is the entire output: http://pastebin.com/AHqG8S24 Haven’t removed/edited any file except the three files mentioned in the beginning in the AngularJS documentation – copy.angular.json, concat.angular.json and swig.json. I only edited the theme names here to a new theme I tried to create. Once I reached the Basic Application Setup step, I only created new files.
Update: I tried setting this up on AWS EC2 with LAMP stack installed. And I got stuck at the same point again where it keeps throwing module missing errors. Either I am missing some files or it has to be because of version mismatch. I do remember seeing a lot of unmet dependencies error while installing Gulp modules.

Could you post the exact installation steps you performed on the EC2 instance. Maybe that way we can spot if you’re doing something wrong.

Then copy Gulpfile.js file inside the lib/gulp folder to the root folder and change the path mentioned inside requireDir('./tasks', {recurse: true}); to requireDir('./lib/gulp/tasks', {recurse: true});

Well, yes. After you add your new elements, you’ll have to let isotope know about those new elements.
For example:

The timeline-block is not the first div in the structure. That needs to go inside another div with class .item and several other classes. Have a look again at the example markup.

There are some visual issues in the admin theme. I test admin angular version. When I click on the Email menu (under the dashborad menu item) the screen gets squeezed. Same thing occurs after pressing the chat menu.
Another issue is that any sidebar overlaps the content view resulting an unpleasent scenery. I indistinctly remember that 2 weeks ago these problems were not present.
Is there something wrong with the demo?

It’s definitely the demo. We double checked the download and it’s fine. For some reason, it doesn’t like this when bootstrapping the angular app:

Instead, if we use:

And .. No more errors.

ThemeKit is part of the HTML templates category, so it’s a HTML template which provides the user interface, static HTML, CSS and JavaScript files and doesn’t include any server side implementation or database.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to do that yourself or by an experienced web developer.

Absolutely, yes – you can combine themes! The themes are meant to work with one another and there’s a single framework behind everything, so there shouldn’t be any CSS conflicts.
2. Are all the data pulling angular services is ready with test json data in both real estate theme and admin theme?
Not really. The AngularJS setup we’re using serves more as a boilerplate or a getting started setup if you will.
We don’t cover web services and data models, you’ll have to do those yourself. We do provide a basic setup, with a main app module, main app controller, routing and basic directives.
We basically make sure the JavaScript functionality from any component of the UI is working in an AngularJS environment.
You should have a look at the AngularJS setup we’re using in the documentation:

The maps component however, does load the markers from an external JSON file:

Our demos are not configured that way, but yes, it’s possible. It’s all about loading the correct assets and some minimal HTML markup changes. You can see the basics on how it works in the documentation:

Sure, we try our best to help whenever necessary, but limited to the technologies used by our product or topics covered by our documentation.

Hello, thanks for that update, things became much clearer through the new documentation. However, i still run into some problems.. I tried to build a copy of those themes (social-1) into a different folder (other than dist..) and half of the things don’t work anymore. for example the concat of js files doesn’t happen anymore. And some references withing the javascript code seem to use the full file-system url, so i can’t just copy it into a webserver to use it.. maybe a small section in your tutorial with some hints about how to set it up for production with my own theme would be great.. like a “hello world”. maybe a minimal setup how to create a miminal template, thats workable on an apache webserver

Hi, thanks that works now! maybe you can help me with something else.. trying to adjust the colors of the theme and clicking since hours through the thousands of less files and can’t figure out where they are being set.. your color section of the documentation is not very helpful i need to say.. it repeats the same thing over and over again, how to add a specific color to one element.. but i would like to change colors globally.. isn’t there something like a “main color” “accent color” and so on? maybe that would be good to include into your docs too, how to change the typical things somebody would like to change using a theme.. colors, font-styles and so on..
one more problem, but i guess its a general one.. if you have a page open in a tab without using it for few minutes and then come back to it, then the scroll doesn’t work anymore. that was there before and after the update..

Again, thanks for providing feedback and letting us know about the colors documentation. Took another look and indeed, it’s confusing, specially since the Documentation -> Reference -> Colors actually refers to the package in lib/colors, which is not about the theme or general colors, but an extra package. We’ll add a guide as soon as possible for customising the Theme colors.
Until then, you could try customising the colors from src/less/themes/$THEME_NAME/_theme.less, at the end of the file:
@primary-color: #3498db; // or even use the available color variables from the lib/colors package: @primary-color: @red-500;
And then run the build process.
About the unused tab + scroll issue, I can’t seem to replicate that. Doesn’t happen here. Maybe if you could provide more details when that happens and how to replicate the issue, browser, OS, the time it takes, are there specific pages for which this happens, etc.

For the moment we can’t provide you with step by step instructions on how to do this, mostly because there are many components using it, but we’re already working on replacing niceScroll with a more native, CSS based solution for the next update.
