What do you mean by “not ideal”? Share some examples of the links you have, and the type of links you want.
I have a problem regards the configuration for tablet and mobile. In particular, the Isotope module and what happens when customers click on the images. Ideally I would like these articles to appear only in light-boxes as they do on the desktop version of the site (I disabled the link button in CSS). However, on the mobile version the articles open up on an entirely different page containing the article followed by all the #section-… parts of the website.
I would like to know if it is possible to enable the lightboxes for the mobile version and I how I could go about doing this. If I am not able to open these articles in a lightbox, how can I configure it so that the link goes only to a plain article, with no menus, modules or sections?

The lighboxes are disabled for mobile screens. Instead the fullpage will be opened. That’s how the template is designed for a better UX.

Howdy htmgarcia! We tried to install the quickstart. But Akeeba (we alreay had problem with Akeeba now Angie) give back some error cause it’s not able to connect to the database. It gives back “Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.” Since we were sure about the credentials, we just made a normal script to see if it was possible to reach the DB. And indeed the script works…. so there is something wrong with Angie… as in the past. Now: we may provide you the link (in private) and the script link so you may verifiy by yourself. And the version in use, php version, is 5.4.4-14.
What we can do? Cause the installation doesn’t go ahead. For us it’s also possible to swap on the WP version but in this case how may we fix with Themeforest? Is it possible to change the purchase? Thank you
Dear htmgarcia, there is nothing to do: we tried and tried and tried. Akeeba (Angie) gives back the same message. “Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.” We tried again also to lunch our script in order to verify if the credentials were good and they are indeed: with the script we may be connected to Database.
And then we cancelled all the files again and we have syncronized again with Total Commander: no files corrupted. With Akeeba it’s the same problem…
I hope it will be possible to solve with you at your choice:
1) or following your tips 2) or changing from Joomla version to WP version. Cause Akeeba gives problem also during the life of the website: when Joomla makes some updates most of the times Akeeba gives other problems. Unfortunately we didn’t know your template were using Akeeba otherwise you may be sure that the option was for WP.

The message “Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.” is very clear. The issue is coming from the database user/password database name you typed. as I wrote opening this post we already made all the tests in order to try to overtake this issue. As you may follow on this post on the official Joomla Forum: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=706&t=892520&p=3320552#p3320552The point it’s not so easy: it’s not just a matter to read the message “Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.” and tell “is very clear”!!! There is some problem and we would like to solve it with you even because, as I have already wrote, we made a script to try to connect to the DB with the same credentials and it works at all. So there is something wrong with Akeeba (Angie).
Now: would you reach maybe all the credentials in order to make some try? I could send you both: the parameters (credentials) and the script so you may see that nothing is wrong about how we insert those datas.
Or, other solution, if you want we may swap on the WP version: if you may change in themeforest the purchase or do somethign to see the WP version in our list of purchases we could pay any difference and solve this annoyng situation.

another update: following some tips in Joomla.org forum (as you can see reading the link I have sent you just here above) ) I have also tried to install the template on Xampp as local. Exactly the same problem! So something is wrong with the install pack. We need your help.

Let us the FTP and database data to try the installation for you. Send the message from http://themeforest.net/user/htmgarcia – add all the details, including the started conversation to track the progress.
Also, keep the files uploaded (i.e. vg-template-quickstart-x.x.x-RECOMMENDED.zip) in the server for a fast installing from our part.
Please consider: this will be a full installation: Joomla + Demo content + extensions. So, any previous install of Joomla will be removed.

actually we were building up the website (about one year ago indeed) and it wasn’t work fine so we stopped: to many issue to be solved. We gave the max rating (5 stars) cause your assistance was fine. But we stopped and we changed the template with another one… (if you see every now it was necessary to write you and some point, e.g. the skills percentual, it was lacked) Now we are trying again cause we saw that, in the mean while, you made a lot of updates and we would like to avoid to lose the money of the purchase. But now we have this issue with the installation… both: on local as well as on remote. Anyway: I will send you in a while all the credentials. Thank you bye

so I have just solved the issue! How? Very easy: just using the quickstart from joomla 2.5 instead of the 3 version… Without Akeeba (Angie) everything easy… 5 minutes and here we go. It’s the second time in several years that I find on my way Akeeba (Angie): always jut trouble and trouble and waste of time.
Your quickstart with the version 2.5 is native, clean, fast… easy! Done!
And I would like to confirm you that we don’t have in use more than one copy of your template: we are use to respect the rules of course. The first time (one year ago) as I have just wrote the template had some issue. Now we will try again. But anyway it’s important that you know we have in use only one copy (for one licence!!) Hi HTMGARCIA, im loving the template and I am customising it a bit to make it suite my needs a bit more. I have a few questions and hope you can help.
1. In the works section, the articles are displayed with the option to filter them. I like this, but I have two “works” sections on the page, one of them I would prefer not to filter. Can I remove this option for one of them?
2. When selecting an article from the works section, the title of that article is displayed in Orange. I’d like to change that colour if possible. Which custom CSS do I need to do this?
3. The slideshow on the Home section is not displaying the entire image. It sometimes cuts off the image at the top or the bottom. Can I also increase this section in size? So that when you open the page you only see the menu bar and the picture? Also, the slide show is not displaying the text from the article. (in your demo it would be SIMPLEKEY ONE PAGE…) I have the text in the article, but its not displaying. Also can I have a logo floating in with the slide show?
4. I cannot get the social network icon for LinkdIn to display. Could you please give me the coding for this.
5. Can I change the colour of the Submit button on the contact page?
6. Do you have a good suggestion for a language switcher position?
7. When I click on Home in the menu, it changes colour to indicate that I am on the home section. This happens with all the other menu items, except for Contact. When I select contact from the menu, it scrolls to contact, but the menu item before contact is highlighted. Have I done something wrong?

Hi Valentin, when we download the template from here.
In the folder the piece by piece:
1) There is not the last versión of the template, the last version there is 1.3.3 in not the version 1.3.4.
2) In the folder updates, the last update is from 26/11/2013, it is not the last update from 2014.
3) I suppose that the Modules are not updated either.
I appreciate if you can update everything.
4) I cant hide the slideshow, i put the code that you send me but doesnt work.
5) My menu see weird when you see the web from a mobile, there is “AA” two A befores each item of the menu.
I send it again more information and admin access to your mail in @gmail.

Once the site is working, you can update to last version from Components > Joomla Update

Sorry for the confusion, check the template version you have from Extensions > Extension manager > search “simplekey” and see the row version
Then redownload the zip from Themeforest and look in Updates/ folder the updated files to replace in your installation via FTP.

VOLVI A BAJAR TODOS LOS ARCHIVOS y en la carpeta piece by piece:
1) NO ESTÁ la ultima versión de la plantilla, allí está la versión 1.3.3 la ultima versión de la plantilla la 1.3.4.NO ESTÁ
2) En la carpeta UPDATES, la ultima actualización que hay es la numero 6 hecha en 26/11/2013 (vERSIÓN 1.3.3), FALTA LA ULTIMA ACTUALIZACIÓN DEL 2014 (VERSIÓN 1.3.4) – Necesiato esta para actualizar el template.
3) Me imagino que los modulos tambien deben estar desactualizados en el archivo de descarga.
POR FAVOR ACTUALIZA LOS ARCHIVOS TOTALMENTE ACA EN THEMEFOREST PARA BAJAR LAS ULTIMAS VERSIONES DE PLANTILLAS, MODULOS Y UPDATES.
4) No pude ocultar el slide del home, puse el codigo como me dijiste y no funciono.
5) Mi menu se ve mal en celulares o mobiles, se anteponen dos A “AA” antes de cada item del menu.

Revisé de nuevo y la version 1.3.4 es la que aparece para lo más reciente de Joomla 3.x
Para Joomla 2.5 es 1.2.3, debido a que requeria menos actualizaciones. Ambas estan separadas en el zip que pones a su disposicion en Themeforest. No actualizamos en ningun otro lugar dado que SOLO LO VENDEMOS en este sitio.. Esto quiere decir que los archivos estan a su disposicion solo aqui

Vea si eso es de ayuda. La actualizacion en un sitio con el template previamente instalado debe ser hecha manualmente via FTp reemplazando los archivos (los mismos de la carpeta Updates/ le sirven)

Actualizar a Joomla 3 es facil. Lo que requiere mas trabajo es deshabilitar (o actualizar a Joomal 3) primero las extensiones que no son del core de Joomla, incluido el template.
Ya que estas seguro tu sitios es Joomal 2.5 nativo (sin extensiones no compatibel con Joomal 3, ve al mensaje que esta en System > Global config acerca de la migracion para mas detalles.
Este proceso no es exclusivo de nuestro template. Es el estandar de Joomla.

And then uploaded the file via FTP, also had to change the link to the file manually in extensions>template manager>vg_simplekey

display:none !important;
}
}
En tu modulo agrega la Module class suffix oculta-movil (usa un espacio vacio al principio)
Esto podría ocultar el módulo en pantallas de 480px de ancho o menor
