Please a need complete tutorial about theme
Hi,
I’ve just sent you an email regarding your question.
In version 2.9, the sign-in/drop down menu does not include all of the links, especially the new “My Grades” link. How can I fix this?
Hi,
I’ve just sent you an email regarding your question.
Hello, a question This theme supports versiion 2.9? Thanks.
Hi,
yes – the theme is fully compatible with Moodle 2.9.
humm , this theme has a different personalization for the courses?
Hi
what exactly do you mean with the different personalization for the courses? Please explain what you would like to know in more detail…
Hi, I understand that the courses have a different personalization of the theme, the question is if the courses has the same personalization, or it has a different one. Can you explain me with more details the difference between the appearance of the general theme and the appearance of a course. Thanks.
Hi,
basically, everything in Moodle is organized within courses – so there is no difference between the general layout and design of the theme and the appearance of the courses. The only minor exception is at the frontpage: You can define a slideshow and/or a carousel slider to be displayed at the frontpage via the theme settings. In a course, this is only possible by adding the corresponding bootstrap component (see http://lambda.redpithemes.com/course/view.php?id=10§ion=10 and http://lambda.redpithemes.com/course/view.php?id=10§ion=11 ).
Hi,
Some days ago I bought your Lambda theme for moodle 2.8. Unfortunately I found that the main menu, that under the logo, does not work properly in iPhones, does not display subitems. Please let me know how to solve this issue. Thank you.
Hi,
I’ve just sent you an email regarding your question.
Hi,
I am with moodle 2.9, When I create accordion inside a course page, everything works well, but When I try to do the same inside a forum post all div ids are stripped off and looks like.<div class="panel panel-default">
<div class="panel-heading">
<a href="#a1">
Title
</a>
</div>
<div class="panel-collapse collapse in">
<div class="panel-body">
111
</div>
</div>
</div>
Hi,
Moodle applies its own IDs to forum elements, so you are right: Without the proper IDs the accordion won’t work. I’m afraid there is currently no way to solve this, well except you report this issue to the Moodle tracker…
Hi There, We’ve been using this theme on our install of Moodle 2.8 and it’s really great, we’ve actually set it as our default them for faculty to use! One thing we’ve noticed, though, is that the student names in the grader report don’t stay static on the left hand side while scrolling right through the gradebook. Is there a way to make this work—maybe a bit of additional code or something needing to be edited in the config.php file?
Thanks for any help!
Hi,
thanks, I’m very pleased that you like the theme. It is possible to change this behavior of the gradebook by adding some custom css rules. Please contact me again via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ). This way I can answer you in more detail.
Bought theme – setting up at the moment. Fantastic job – well done! Quick question – how do you insert the dividers or labels between parts of a course that have a font-awesome icon on a yellow background and grey bar with text on it
You have examples on this page: http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/full_screen_preview/9442816
There is a divider with a tick icon saying ‘Sample tasks and activities’ and a divider with a folder icon saying ‘More resources’.
I assumed they were shortcodes but cannot find examples of those shortcakes in your documentation.
Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately, your link directs to the main page of the demo site. That’s not your fault, the demo site is embedded in an iframe and so you can’t get the url of the subpages. But anyway, I think I know what you mean…

You can find the code for these labels here at the theme’s documentation: http://redpithemes.com/Documentation/assets/typography.html#headlines
Sorry about the link! Thanks for the info – thats perfect
You’re welcome!
One – hopefully final question! Is it possible to collapse topics in a course with Lambda? I can’t see an obvious way but might be missing something
you can download the “Course formats: Collapsed Topics” at the official Moodle plugins directory:
https://moodle.org/plugins/view/format_topcoll
The plugin works very well with Theme Lambda.
May I ask one more question? I upload scorm zip file successfully in this theme. But the scorm file inserted in table , and the ‘tbody’ vertical-align is middle. I hope to change the middle to top. I have insert tbody{vertical-align:top} in
Site administration>Appearance> Additional HTML and Site administrationAppearance>Theme>clean > custom css
But I cannot change the vertical align…. When I see the script, there are tow<!DOCTYPE html> so I dont know how to change it . Please help me Thanks
Hi,
I’m afraid that this won’t be possible. A scorm package is loading inside an iframe which is used to embed another document within the current Moodle page. So the content of the iframe is not styled by the theme or the CSS of your Moodle site. You need to have control over the scorm package itself in order to style it.
I have uploaded user picture but it doesnt show in the main page and any other pages (user picture is successfully uploaded). Only default picture(f1.jpg) remains. How can I change the user picture to show every pages? Thanks
Regards
Hi,
changing the user picture might result in a caching issue so that the old picture is still showing up in the profileblock. As an administrator, go to “Administration” > “Site administration” > “Appearance” > “Themes” > “Theme selector”. Here, click “Clear theme caches” and reload the site with your borwser (maybe a few times). The correct image will definitely show up.
Thank you for your support! it is working now
How can i change the Favicon of my page in Lambda.
Hi,
you can find the file for the favicon in the ‘pix’ folder of the theme at >> pathToYourMoodle/theme/lambda/pix.
Just replace the favicon in the pix folder with your own one.
If the favicon doesn’t show up after that, please try to delete your browser cache and the theme cache in Moodle.
For the theme cache in Moodle, please go to “Administration” > “Site administration” > “Appearance” > “Themes” > “Theme selector”.
Here, click the button at the top of the page to clear the Moodle theme cache. Your new favicon should show up in your browser after that.
Hi how can I enable menu? Can I disable breadcrumb,where?
the theme uses the Moodle custom menu. An administrator can add the menu via theme settings in “Administration” > “Site administration” > “Appearance” > “Themes” > “Theme settings”. In the theme’s doc you can find a section about adding the menu in more detail:
http://www.redpithemes.com/Documentation/assets/moodle_settings.html
Hiding the breadcrumb is possible by adding a custom css rule at the theme settings. Please contact me again via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ). This way I can send you the necessary css.
Hi,
I have 3 questions:
1. As a part of this theme, the “Short name for site” is the first item in the navigation bar with the default color scheme for the item. I would like to know if I could change the background color for the first item in the navigation bar and keep the color consistent with the remaining items in the navigation bar (without changing the default color of the theme).
2. Is there a way to hide the “Login” block from certain pages, and keep it only in few pages.
3. When I create new pages under a particular course, I notice that the pages are shown in the bottom of the course screen as blocks. On hiding those blocks, the entire page is hidden from users. Is there any way to keep the pages, but not show them as blocks, in the bottom of the page.
Kudos to you! Great work on the theme! Thanks!
Hi,
Regarding your questions:
1) This is possible by adding a custom css rule at the theme settings. Please contact me again via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ). This way I can send you the necessary css.
2) I don’t recommend hiding the login container, because after a successful login this container is also used for the user menu and the logout link.
3) This is an issue of the Moodle course management. If you contact me via the support tab, I can answer you in more detail with some screenshots attached.
P.S. Thanks! Great to hear that you like the theme.
Hello, Can we add video to homepage slider somehow? Or at least somewhere below slider? Thanks in advance for answer
Hi,
both options are possible. Please contact me again via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ). This way I can answer you in more detail.
When I choose the Theme, I have this error Call to undefined method theme_lambda_core_renderer::page_title()
Page is blank and theme doesn’t work.
Any solution?
I have Moodle 2.5 and i cannot upgrade it, I purchased this theme because I saw that 2.5 is supported.
Hi,
it seems that the installation process has not been completed correctly. I also received your mail by the support contact form – so it’s best to continue this via mail.
what image ratio or dimensions should be used for main slideshow?
Hi,
the images used at the demo site are 1800×635 px, but I don’t think that there is any optimal image size. Since the slider is responsive, the images always have to adapt to different screen resolutions. So all you can do is to use images of good quality that are not to small (since they loose quality if scaled up).
Sorry but the slider images are not responsive in the demo as well as when i install it, how to make it responsive
Hi,
the slider is already responsive, but it is set to a fixed height of 375px. This is necessary because of the headings and captions, which could otherwise not be displayed within the images if they get to small in mobile view. So depending on your screen resolution, the images in the slideshow will adapt to these settings and may get cropped to the left and right.
Any modifications to this can only be recommended if you do not use any captions and headings with the slider.
Please contact me via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ) if you definitely want to use only the images in the slider without captions and headings. Then I can send you the necessary modifications.
Hi, I have a few questions for you.
First, does the last update of the theme comply with the European Legislation on Cookies? Which means, does it provide the Banner Cookie alert?
Secondly, if I update the last version of Moodle (2.9), is there the possibility to lose all the changes I made to the theme?
Last, if I update the theme, is there the possibility to lose all changes to the code?
Many thanks
Hi,
all settings that have been made are stored in the Moodle database, so none of these settings will get lost if you update the theme. But if you are operating with modified core files of the theme, you should backup these files.
Regarding your first question:
A theme only applies a certain style to your Moodle site, so to comply with the EU Cookie Law is not a matter of the theme. Since cookies will only be set for your authenticated users after a login, you could for example provide some kind of data privacy statement for them.
Hi, Can you provide admin demo account?
Hi,
sorry, but I don’t plan to provide access data for an admin role. As an administrator, you could delete contents or change the theme of the demo site. Even if I backup the site, there might be visitors who watch the demo in this state. I hope for your understanding…
But if there is anything at the demo you want to adopt for your Moodle site, please contact me via the support tab (http://themeforest.net/item/lambda-responsive-moodle-theme/9442816/support ) and I can guide you through the necessary steps.
Hi, What a beautiful theme !! Love it and next on my buy list. Can you please tell me if the theme has support for adding a live video stream/web conferencing ..say via BigBlueButton or Openmeeting or youtube live feature to stream the class live.
thanks. -Rajiv
Thanks! You can use any “official” plugin from Moodle.org with the theme. So yes – the plugins OpenMeetings and BigBlueButtonBN are supported.
YouTube live can be embedded like a “normal” video from YouTube, so this is also possible.
Hi,
I followed installing steps and it doesn’t change default theme on version 2.8.5
Regards.
Hi,
after installing the theme you still have to change your default theme. Log in as admin and go to “Administration” > “Site administration” > “Appearance” > “Themes” > “Theme Selector”. Since Theme Lambda is a responsive theme, you only have to select it as your default theme and not additionally for one of the other listed devices.
It would be great if you could do a YouTube video tutorial to replicate exactly the demo site.
Good job!!!!
Thanks! Providing some videos with the theme’s features and some tutorials is actually already on my to-do list. Currently, there’s still lots of other work, but I will definitely follow up with this…
