I got the following error in visual composer trying to set the row to “default’ from “row stretch” in Row Setting:
Warning: array_map(): Argument #2 should be an array in /home/ibenef5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/classes/editors/popups/class-vc-shortcode-edit-form.php on line 44
If your theme and the Visual Composer plugin both up to date?
Also (sorry for the questions) – how do I replace the voices heading on bbpress with Freshness, voices isn’t that important to our forum – freshness is.
With some CSS…try something like this (may need additional tweaking):
.bbp-topic-freshness, .bbp-forum-freshness, li.bbp-forum-freshness {
display: block !important;
}
.bbp-topic-voice-count, .bbp-forum-voice-count, li.bbp-forum-voice-count {
display: none !important;
}
.forum-titles .li.bbp-forum-freshness, .forum-titles li.bbp-topic-freshness {
float: none;
width: auto;
}

In the total theme I have a simple problem: The start page has the template “standard template”. That leads to the page content being not in the center (although no side bar has any widget). When I chose another template (landing) the contents are in the center, but the footer cannot be enabled (although the footer option is activated).
nevermind. solved it.
how do I add a list of services to the footer? I have created them using portfolio. I would like it to look like this http://totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/contact-page/contact-page-sidebar/
You can use the custom menu widget in the footer to display any links you want.
Is it possible to create a fixed header with information that only appears once you start scrolling down?
For example, I want people subscribe to an email newsletter list, but give them the option to do so constantly through the fixed header as they scroll down.
Sorry if this is a customization question, but I just want to know if it’s possible in this theme. Thanks.
Unfortunately because it isn’t something highly requested and is actually quite hard to add to a theme since it’s unique to each customer it isn’t something I will be adding to the theme.
But it’s somewhat possible to add yourself…
1. Add extra content to the header via a theme hook – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/action-hooks/
2. Add custom CSS to hide this area, then apply custom CSS to display it once sticky (header receives a unique class when it’s sticky that you can target).
The problem is this will likely cause issues with local scroll actions if you are using any since the correct header height can’t be grabbed by the sticky function and it may even cause a weird “jump” on initial scroll and once the header reaches the top again.
Hello,
How can i do the same configuration for the alpha header with image behind it. like as :
http://themeforest.net/item/total-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/6339019Or can you give me the template of this demo?
Thanks,
Please see the docs here: http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/overlay-header/
How can I have the mobile menu open on the right side of page instead of left. I have tried some css but can’t find the right ID or class.
Thanks!
There is a built-in setting for this at Appearance > Customize > Menu > Mobile > Direction
Hi there, whenever I create a parallax row within the Visual Composer it stretches the background image so that it doesn’t look acceptable. How do I do this correctly?
Can you please share a live example? Thanks!
In back end editor I have created a row with a picture background then stretched it and content. When I add a text box over this background no matter what I do I cannot stretch text box to full width – there are still gaps to left and right where the background mage shows through. Is it possible to correct this?
This doesn’t happen when I test locally, can you share the URL with the issue so I can see?
Demo Data – Not loading or completing.
Hello! I have just installed the theme and have gone to set it up as per one of the demo sites. So Appearance > BeTheme Demo Data.
I selected the import option ‘Demo’ and ‘Jet’. It starts to load and then stops and never completes. I have tried this with different demos and the same thing keeps happening.
Have I missed a step?
Thanks!
please ignore this comment, wrong page!
HI i have downloaded and installed the total theme to wp but i need a child theme on which i can do the actual work right? if so where do i find it to upload it to wp
You can find a sample child theme on the doc site here – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/child-theme/
Actually, the FRONTEND version of my pages doesn’t display exactly the same as the real version on Chrome. The WYSIWYG doesn’t seem to be 100% true.
Example, the space between rows appear more important in live view compared to FRONTEND design view.
Can you show me a screenshot of the difference? I don’t understand what you mean by “more important” in live view.
Once again, my website displays fine in Chrome, but terribly in IE. Running a website checker finds many HTML code errors. I don’t have access to the HTML code. What gives?
What version of IE are you inspecting on? I have tested the theme in IE8, IE9, IE10 and IE11 and it should be working fine. Have you tried the live demo? Do you also have issues? – totaltheme.wpengine.com/base/
I’m using vs IE11. I’ve since simplified my pages and now it appears to be flawless in IE.
Great!
Fantastic theme! I am in the process of developing www.mktproperties.com/newsite, and I have a few changes I would like to make that I can’t figure out how to do:
1. On the home page I would like to remove the padding between the revolution slider and the three columns below it. 2. I would like to center the copyright text on the bottom 3. Is it possible to have a right side bar for widgets on all pages except for the home page?
Thanks! Brent
Hi Brent,
- On the home page I would like to remove the padding between the revolution slider and the three columns below it.
This is actually a padding added to your row – http://cl.ly/image/402e0o0V3G3r – simply edit the row with the Visual Composer to remove or alter the top padding.
- I would like to center the copyright text on the bottom
There are options built-in to do this: http://cl.ly/image/1A1v1g340l3s (added in Total 2.0.0)
- Is it possible to have a right side bar for widgets on all pages except for the home page?
Yes. Simply alter your page layout – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/content-layouts/
Thank you so much! This was very helpful.

Hi, I get this error when installing the sample data… Installed woocommerce as well so its not the same error as described in the docs.
Any suggestions as why I get it and how to solve this?

How can I integrate a flight booking plugin php code into the landing page of my website www.mytravelexplorer.com?
You quick response will be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Sorry I don’t have any experience with this sort of functionality
I have Revolution Slider through purchase of the Total Theme… I deleted a slider and now all of my themes give the error “ERROR: Slider with ID: 1 Not Found” and none of the sliders will show up. Revolution Slider refuses to help because I have the plugin via Total and suggested I contact you for support.
Check your page, sounds like your pages are referencing the deleted slide. If you want me to log in and have a look I can do so as well.

You can message me privately via the form on this page – http://themeforest.net/user/WPExplorer – and I will respond via email. Make sure to send me all pertinent data and context so we can get this sorted in a timely manner. A link to the original comment works
Hi,
I have created a category grid on my homepage (geographical areas), however it contains subcategories (countries). I would like to remove (exclude) the subcategories from the category grid. Please advice.
Thank you in advance!
I’ve updated the theme to add a new option to exclude child categories (good idea) : http://cl.ly/image/440I441e3111
Will be available soon in the next version – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs-category/updates/
Question 1:
Hi I am looking to have vertical images in portfolio galleries scaled (not cropped) to the same height as the horizontal images. I have searched your documentation and discussions but can’t find any info on this. Below is what I would like to have vertical images appear like:Question 2:
When I insert the “Post Gallery” using the VC “Gallery Slider” element, shown below:Thanks
Hi,
Question 1: Images are set to stretch at 100% by default for responsive reasons. But with some custom CSS you can alter that.
Question 2: The Gallery slider is a different design. Use the “Image Slider” module instead and enable the thumbnails under the General tab for that module.
The problem I am running into is that your theme based image size system seems to override the ability to set images not to crop. Image sizes can be responsive with out needing to stretch, this is important for anyone that wants a full vertical image displayed in a gallery and does not cropped. It would be a big improvement to your theme to add this choice in. Otherwise most users with out coding knowledge will have to turn to third party plugins (like royal slider) just to get a basic image gallery that does not crop their images.
It’s not the image size system, it’s just that sliders have a 100% width for design reasons. For example if you have a small image in a slider that isn’t stretched this is what happens – http://cl.ly/image/1D3v1P0j1c2y – and looks bad. It causes issues with the slider arrows, captions and slider bullet navigation.
The best solution is to upload larger images (which will also be better quality and thus look better as well).
Of course if you rather not have images stretch it’s a very very simply CSS tweak to prevent it (this is for the Image Slider VC module):
.wpex-slider-media img {
width: auto !important;
margin: 0 auto !important;
}
http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/making-css-edits/
I hope this makes a bit more sense!
- AJ
The royal slider is essentially the same slider as the Total slider – http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/royal-slider/gallery/ – but it’s wrapped in a black background which is old school. But you can achieve the same effect in total easily:
body .wpex-slider-media {
background: #000;
padding: 30px;
}
body .wpex-slider-media img {
width: auto !important;
margin: 0 auto;
}
result: http://cl.ly/image/0X1B1b1u2M2q
Some things are best left as small CSS tweaks rather then bloating the theme with even more options I think. And if you don’t know how to make these small tweaks that’s what I’m here for
How can I increase the body font size without it affecting the main menu font size? I could this with CSS but the options are in the customizer, they just have an unwanted knock-on effect.
Any news on version 3?
Thanks, Paul.
Hi Paul,
The theme purposely uses em values because when you increase your body font it should increase all font sizes accordingly. If you want to alter the body font and keep the menu font size the same, simply increase the body font size then add a font size again for the menu at the desired size.
Yeah sorted, thanks.
Great!
