Hi Emil, I’m just looking for a way to make elements full screen – such as a slider. Currently the only element that is able to go full width is the “Homepage post element” – however I can’t seem to find the coding associated that I could apply to other elements. Mainly I am looking to add in a full width revolution slider.

Hi,
The grid restricts the content width area, the theme automatically moves elements like Homepage post outside the content main container, this way it can be displayed on screen full width. In the case of the Homepage post element it works as long as you use only one on page. If you need multiple elements to appear on different areas of the page you have to make a custom template, or use custom css and js to modify certain areas. If you don’t know how to do this i suggest that you hire a professional developer to help you with this task.

The newsmag theme has an implementation regarding the tagdiv speed booster plugin from it’s latest update (2.0) so if you have active one plugin that is not included on this list: http://screencast.com/t/GaebwR6dVSn the peed Booster will disable itself. This has been added in plugin’s version 4.0: http://screencast.com/t/sUF8FQsj0I and it can be verified in theme’s system status section: http://screencast.com/t/e7XxGaW7W
So in conclusion if you plugin is not on the list the speed booster plugin will disable.

Really like the theme but I’m having problems installing it. If I do it through the Wordpress backend I get this error:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /home2/fantasy/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2015/07.
So I tried doing it through cPanel, which results in this error when trying to extract the zip file to my themes folder:
Archive: /home2/fantasy/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newsmag.zip End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home2/fantasy/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newsmag.zip or /home2/fantasy/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newsmag.zip.zip, and cannot find /home2/fantasy/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newsmag.zip.ZIP, period.
Do you have any suggestions?

How come the modal login gets so much spam? I read the comment that you recommended Akismet plugin, but as soon as I activated it, I got another spam registration from it. Akismet is for comments, not registration. I had at least 20 spam registrations in an hour from the modal login on top bar. I disabled it and put buddypress login widget on sidebar until somehow there is a way to stop the model login/registration from this serious spam sucker that sucks the bots like crazy.
I think I will put back the login modal back to top bar, because I am using banner hammer and with using the emails and searching Google they will show stop forum spam, cleantalk and others if they are spamming on other sites and I will just put their email in ban hammer and it tells them their email is blocked from registration, but with so many bots each hour, its a task to deal with.
Sorry for coming sounding a little rude. I really love this theme and you did a great job, and I will deal with the registrations like in last post with ban hammer until you get a some kind of captcha in the modal.

Our modal was custom made and it’s less probable to be targeted by bots. I suspect you get all the registration spam via Wordpress backend registration window which is often targeted by bots. Try to install a captcha plugin for it and see if the spam is still there.

What is the difference between this theme and Newpaper 6. I like both but want something that is more up to datebut reluctant to buy both themes

The differences come in their designs, each one of them have their own custom built grid system and design. Other differences appear between their features, blocks/modules layout possibilities, newspaper theme has some extra features and some of the modules/blocks now available on newspaper aren’t present on newsmag so if you’re looking for more customization opportunities you should go on newspaper if you like the newsmag design or grid you should chose newsmag theme. You should also know that we plan to add some of the missing features from newspaper to newsmag however we haven’t decided anything on this so I can’t provide an accurate answer. In conclusion if you want the most complete one then you should go with newspaper. Hope this helps you decide!

In the css properties there’s the following class div.vc_row.wpb_row.td-pb-row which sets the following properties:
position: relative;
left: -341px;
box-sizing: border-box;
width: 1703px;
the problem is with the ‘left’ definition the -341px mess up my lay-out.

I see you use Visual Composer’s version 4.4.3 and the latest theme version (2.0) and the VC plugin version provide within the latest theme version is 4.5.3 so please also update the Visual Composer plugin according to this guide: http://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and also make sure just you empty all caches and purge all files and test this again.

I’m having trouble with sidebars not showing up any-more despite have default selected everywhere. I have not changed the settings, they just don’t appear suddenly.
Also cannot get the sidebar ad box to work no matter what I do, I’ve used ‘custom ad 1”, added the html in the custom ad area and…nothing! also tried visual composer, selected ad box, chosen ‘custom 1’ and nothing.
Here is the html I want to show up:

Well i love the theme but on screens bigger or equal to 1920, site looks so small.. Are there any ways to make it wider? like 1240px maybe?

Our ad system allow you to add google adsense code and also HTML code, but doesn’t work with php.
