Hello, im currenlty looking for a WP theme and this one looks amazing. But im confused, what is the different between Newspaper and Newsmag? which one is more “future proof”, has more or will have more features? They both look very similar. Thank you

The themes (Newsmag and Newspaper) functionality and performance are similar. The main differences are in designs/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another, newspaper’s grid width is 1164px while newsmag’s width is 1021px. Other differences are also appear regarding features, some of the blocks are present on one and missing on the other. We plan to constantly add new features to each theme. The choice depends on your needs.

Can I change my mind and purchase the Newspaper theme instead of Newsmag? I really need the site width to be flexible/wider and your Newspaper theme just looks much better. I found Newsmag before discovering Newspaper and would like to change. Is this possible? I have the purchase code and am happy for it to be removed from my Envato account. Please let me know if this is possible.
I’ve put in a Refund Request with Envato. Once received I will purchase the Newspaper theme. Is this the right way to go about this?

Hi,
The theme uses ajax for features like load more/ next/prev pagination/ live search.
Please check our theme requirements and make sure you use a proper configuration here: http://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ ( this is for newspaper but it also works for newsmag theme as they share the same core and performances).
I see you don’t use a cache plugin so you should consider setting one up. We recommend Wp-Super Cache, it seems to be faster and easier to configure.

... but … I lost a lot of layout work in the update process… lost side adverts and social counter: I get this message: – wp booster error: Please update your [tagDiv social counter] Plugin! (but there is no plugin to update) now the visual composure doesn’t want to work as it did b4 to try and fix the front page … cant drag and drop elements.

Did you updated from a version older than 1.5? we changed a few shortcodes in v.1.5, this was necessary to make them load only when requested and improve the theme performance.

You have to use a plugin like – https://wordpress.org/plugins/better-search-replace/ – search in the database for each shortcode and replace it with the new one.
Before you do this backup the database, you could use a plugin or check if you have a backup option in C-Panel area.

If you use small images note that wordpress doesn’t have an upscale function, you have to use a combination of plugins like – https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ – and – https://wordpress.org/plugins/force-regenerate-thumbnails/

There seems to be a problem with offsetting posts on homepage.
If I set “Offset: 5” on the Block that’s right underneath the Big Grid (5 posts), and if all posts are unique on the Block and in the Big Grid, the theme still doesn’t show several posts. So it would go like this:
Big Grid: Post 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Block 1: 8, 9, 10 Block 2: 11, 12, 13
...so posts 6-7 will be missing. I also tried using Unique Articles feature, and the situation is even worse; it screws up the whole post structure completely.

Also, how do I add a Widget to my sidebar on homepage? Since the theme doesn’t provide Facebook Page/Like widget (which it honestly should; social counter is useless), I installed a Facebook Widget plugin. Now I need this plugin to appear in the sidebar, above other blocks. I tried using the block “Widgetized Sidebar” and then adding a Facebook Widget in Appearance > Widgets, but this didn’t work.

3. The widgetised sidebar block should work, please check if you selected the right sidebar. Also check if the Facebook Widget appears on the post/category sidebars, if it doesn’t appear there it means there’s something wrong, maybe a conflict with another plugin. Is it possible to do what the Big Grid has, which is when the author/date are removed, the Title moves a little lower on the image?

If you don’t know how to make this i suggest that you look for a professional developer to help you with this modification.

That code can’t be used within a shortcode, I suggest you try a plugin that can grant you the possibility to place a fb share button using a shortcode because the theme doesn’t provide any option for that. Sorry!

I refer to the slider present on the page. The Revolution Slider is too complex and I have to manage it away from a post. I want a simpler gallery/photo slider but I don’t really like the one that you implemented because it has a weird black bar on top http://imgur.com/lDfKkto.
