What is your best way to have a subtle menu that appears at the top of the website and sticks to the top of the user’s window/page as they scroll down? (a sort of sticky menu?)

Hello, I have multiple books, but they are not listed clear in the backend. All chapters off all books are on 1 page. So to edit a chapter of a book, you will need to bouwse a whole list of chapers. Now I see Chapter 1 Chapter 1 Chapter 1, but it’s unclear to which book they belong. How can I see/edit the chapters per book?

Ok second question. I must be missing something when it comes to buttons. I am using the example – [button to=”enter-url-here”]enter-button-text-here[/button] from the documentation, but the button never appears.
I have included and not included http:// and a number of other variations but when I put the shortcode into a text field in a custom section just the text shows up.

Make sure that you have installed the Subsolar Shortcodes plugin that comes with the theme.
It is installed. I had it working when i downloaded the demo, but deleted it and I am trying to create a new button in a different section to no avail.
Do you have any 3rd party plugins that are installed and doesn’t come with the theme? If yes, please deactivate them and try again,
So I finally got around to trying this. I only had Easy Digital Downloads, Envato WordPress Toolkit, Redux Framework, SubSolar Novela Shortcodes active and the button still didn’t want to work.

Hi, you have to create a simple page, name it for example Blog and then in Settings > Reading, check “A static page (select below)” and select that page for “Posts page”. This way it will list all blog posts.
So there is no sidebar option, with links to the archive etc?
As can be sen from the demo, the theme features widget area in the footer.

Anyone experiencing they cannot publish anything with the theme activated on their wordpress site? When other themes are activated, my wordpress pages are publishing as normal, however as soon as I activate this theme, they stop publishing??
Yes, this bug is fixed and a new update is pushed for approval on themeforest. It will be approved in a few hours. Some changes were made in WP 4.7 and the theme needed update.

Okay that seems to have sorted the issue – thanks! I have one final issue – I have created 2 character sections. However the background on these sections seemed to be linked. The same background appears for both sections! Surely because this is a new section, they should be independent of one another. Apart from that, good work – thanks!

I just purchased your beautiful theme, and already install it at my Wordpress website. I use Wordpress Installation version 4.2.3, with only the plugins Novela Themes asked me to install and activate. What’s more, the server I use has alread installed several Wordpress installations using a variety of premium themes, with facing any issue. So, it can’t be a server issue here…
So, here is my problem. When I try to edit my Front Page “Pages>Front Page”, where it suppose to be buttons for adding images (like background image and book image for the first row of the first page, a “Read the Book Background Image” in the second row etc.) there is nothing. I have tried to edit the page using Chrome, Firefox and Safari. As a result of the absence of buttons, I can’t add image in my first page at all! I even tried to upload images through the media section of the wordpress installation and then use their urls, but neither that option actually worked. :/
As you can imagine, I can’t use the theme with such issues, so I am hopping for a ultrafast reply!

Ok, that feature works for me now. But I am facing more issues (really, your documentation file is quite poor in details):
1. In the buttons “read me” and “buy” the images are missing. What am I doing wrong? I am using these shortcodes:

I have already created many book chapters through WP admin page, but I can’t enter any value in the field “Chapter Belongs To”. Just realised how the Book Preview feature works. I just had to create a download item, in order to be able to connect each chapter to its ID. So, this is ok now.
What I can’t figure out so far though is why the images are missing from the button, when I am using the given shortcodes… i.e. [button type=”read” id=”172”]Read more[/button] or [button type=”buy” to=”http://iwrite.gr/bookstore/”]Buy[/button]

Hi, the cover PSD to create a mockup book image is not included with the theme, just search for “book mockup psd” and you will find a lot or even better than the one in the demo.

pre-sales questions: 1. Does this theme come with its own child theme? If not, which child theme maker do you recommend? 2. Can the landing page sections be modified? For instance, your demo is fiction, but I’m looking to do non-fiction landing pages, so there won’t be a need for characters. Can sections be omitted, or changed? 3. What about color customization? Can we change the colors?

1) Yes, it comes with child theme.
2) Yes, you can remove, reorder them or add multiple ones of any type.
3) There is no color customization. There is a Custom CSS field where you can add ome custom color rules if you want.
4) Yes, you can create multiple pages and land them. It can be a Book Information page or just a generic page that you can feel with whatever content you want.
5) SSL is not needed. Setting up SSL with EDD is pretty simple. First, you will need to have an SSL certificate installed on your server. Once it is installed, all you need to do is go to Downloads > Settings > Misc and check the box that says “Enforce SSL on Checkout”. That will make the checkout page load over SSL.

Presales: Are the sections of the page fixed or could there be added more like videos? Is there a theme configurator or simple a wp page for every section? I would need the most flexibility to add contents. Thanks.
The theme consists of the all shown sections that are in the demo – Author, Blog, Characters, Contact, Features, Hero Image, Read the Book, and one additional blank that can be filled with whatever content you want. Every section (without the latest one) consist of unique fields, that when filled, generate the front end. And each of them can be added as much times and in whatever order you want.

Bug with arrows in the reading section on chrome.
But my case is even worth. Opera and Safari also have a bug. On Opera it’s too slow in response. Safari has a nice flipping a effect, but chapter menu after clicking (...) button is no longer clickable. Using mac.
We are in the process of fixing this bug. Expect update soon.
