We haven’t tested this plugin with our theme so we can’t guarantee it will work flawlessly with our theme. Just to remind you, we do have Edge Slider available with our theme as integral part of it, as well as Layer Slider plugin which is shipped as a bundle.

Also another question. I have a blog with many posts. It uses posts, pages as well as I have portfolio items. Do you think that I can switch to Hudson without problems? I mean, portfolio items I have now will become portfolio items also in Hudson?

Please note, portfolio items as such aren’t part of basic WP, they are custom features which rely on/comes with theme activated on your site. Although you do have custom post type that is called Portfolio, there is a chance that those items won’t match our custom post type which is also called Portfolio.
On the other hand, posts and pages are basic WP features and you won’t have issues with them.

If they don’t match, what will happen? Will they appear as normal blog posts as soon as I switch to Hudson? Do you have some best practices in theme migration?
If they don’t match they will simply be invisible in your Dashboard and on your site. Custom post type can’t be reverted to default one (such is blog or page) automatically.
Regarding theme migration best practices, unfortunately, we don’t have any similar doc or tutorial available.

Hello, Ihave Vigor, now I am thinking to buy Hudson for another site. I liked this view of homepage: http://demo.edge-themes.com/hudson11/ and I liked this blog: http://demo.edge-themes.com/hudson/blog/blog-standard/
But in the first URL there is no “blog” in the header. I am wondering if I can have both this homepage style AND that blog style in the same instance of Wordpress? Thanks

Hello! First I LOVE YOUR THEME!
Okay, so I’ve changed the background color of my header with an image. How do I sent the theme up where my menu items will show even when a page is not active? I’ve looked and looked and cannot seem to find.
Also, I seem to be forced to flush in order to see my changes live and i am using a regular web browser as well as an incognito browser.

Note that you’re using light header skin which has predefined colors of menu items. In this case none of settings for menu item colors won’t be applied. Therefore, we advise you to change following setting – http://screencast.com/t/VtXlkcWaS – and then set colors from Edge Options > Fonts > Header to suit your needs.

Yes. Note that footer is actually widget area, and content is controlled with Appearance > Widgets while layout is controlled via Ege Options > Footer.

I have another question. I just opend my ABOUT page in my website and I see only a header, no content, and a message “Fatal error: Call to undefined method WPBakeryShortCode_VC_Single_image::getImageSquereSize() in /home/rltransl/public_html/wp-content/themes/hudsonwp/vc_templates/vc_single_image.php on line 46”. In VC view all content is present. I have no idea what happened. Yesterday I had to upload a new version of VC because of the warning I received from ENVATO. Can you help me with that? Thank you.

Regarding your second widget, check your PHP version, it should be at least 5.3.

No, better is to contact your hosting provider regarding second issue, since error is within ” :: ” PHP operator which isn’t recognized by your server as a valid syntax.

Hello, I have submitted two tickets concerning two issues yesterday and one today and so far did not get any response. I understand that the support team is busy, but can you please give me an approximate waiting time. One of the issues is PHP problem. I contacted my hosting provider. They tested my webpage with all PHP versions they have and gave me the following answer: “I have tried with the following PHP version but with none of them the issue is not resolved:
5.2.17 5.3.29 5.4.45 5.5.29 5.6.13
The issue seems to be not related to the PHP version set for your application. My advice is to update your ticket to the support of the theme which you are using with this new information so they could investigate what could be causing the issue.” I would very much appreciate your help. Tatyana

Regarding your question, the best way to start with a blank slate is to create a fresh WordPress installation and install the theme from scratch. However, if you are installing the theme on a site where you already have existing content, then the other option is to go through all the imported pages, posts, media, portfolio items, etc. and delete them manually. Then you can also reset the theme options by going to Edge Options > Reset and setting Reset to Defaults to “yes” (this will only reset the options, you still need to delete all the content manually). Please note that you should always delete all the imported menus in Appearance > Menus before you do a new import, otherwise they might duplicate.

Unfortunately there is no way to update the theme automatically. You can update your theme by performing the following steps:
1. Download the latest theme zip file from ThemeForest
2. Extract it and locate hudsonwp.zip
3. Extract hudsonwp.zip and locate the ‘hudsonwp’ folder
4. Copy/Replace the contents of the ‘hudsonwp’ folder to the /wp-content/themes/hudsonwp folder of your web site.
This way none of your settings or content will be lost.
