So, generally I really like the new version of the theme, thanks. But I REALLY preferred the old style of the groups directory. Really, really not a fan of the new one. AND it’s the most important page on my site. Is there way to revert the old style for just the groups page?
(also, everyone on my site seems to agree. Might end up reverting to old version if we can’t change it.)

In the description it mentions a theme design for bbPress and shows a photo of a forum. I have this theme, but the forums are not redesigned. Is this an error? Or is that just not included in the theme?

As with most themes sold here we unfortunately do not provide the ability to test the theme before you purchase it. The main reason for this is a demo would be editable by all users and as a result some users would completely ruin the theme and the potential buyer would then get a completely skewed view of how the theme works. When a reliable theme demo plugin is available, there are plans to allow theme testing.
However if you have any specific questions or want to see any screenshots let me know.
Hello, I bought the buddy theme two months ago and I’m kind of disappointed. there are never updates, the CSS is never externalized, so is the JavaScript. There a so many bugs, especially with the slider which disappears due to plugins incompatibility. And, it never displays any real-time notification for buddy press.

It’s simply not true to say there are never updates. The most recent update was 2 months ago on September 18th, which was probably just before you purchased the theme. I would love to release more updates but it’s just not possible. I am just one person who sells several themes. If all I had to do was work on Buddy you would see lots more updates, but I also have to update, bug fix and support several other themes whilst also working on new themes in order to earn a living.
As for the CSS and JS never being externalized – nearly all of the this IS externalized. Very little CSS/JS is inline so I have no idea what you’re talking – if you care to give examples that would be great?
If you find a bug, you can report it on the support site at http://ghostpool.ticksy.com where I’ll look into it and try to provide a fix within 24 hours. However I will say I get lots of customers claiming that they’re found a bug and it usually turns out to be an issue with bad scripts or code changes they have made.
Real-time notifications? Are you referring to BuddyPress’s auto refresh feature? If so and it’s not working submit a support ticket and I’ll look into it.

I expressed myself wrong, I meant there a no updates from the back office of my WordPress site, contrary to so many themes and addons. So it is not so convenient.
I understand that you cannot only leave from this product but at that price, it is supposed to be perfect and get 100 % in the Google Page Speed Insights (and especially for the mobile support, it got 95 % because of wrong buttons sizes.
I did not personnalize this theme, except the bottom on wich you put a kind of disclaimer.
The bug is clear, you slider pannel always disappears. There are so many problems with so many addons (especially with CSS and JS minifyers and the Buddy Press addon to add a “report button” for the social network).
The Wordpress addons permitting to sin up and sin in with Facebook, Twitter or Google buttons have never worked du to your theme.

I can admit there are a few small problems, your alone working on this and it is difficult, but it’s too much in this case.
Most premium themes sold here do not provide theme updates via the backend. I’ve not really had any customers have an issue with that.
Achieving 100% on Google Pagespeed is near impossible, a lot of the requirements can only be fixed by the user, not the developer. I’m not aware of any theme that offers a 100% Google Pagespeed score.
Everything has bugs. My Apple iPhone has a ton of bugs, and they’re a billion dollar company and have thousands of people working on it. If they have bugs, it’s a little harsh to expect my theme to be perfect. Nothings perfect.
If you’re having plugin conflicts please open a support ticket as I previously said. The sooner you do this the sooner I can look into your issues and hopefully resolve them for you.
I do not intend to get something perfect. Otherwise I would invest much more cash. The fact remains that there are too many compatibility issues with Wordpress addons and it is too bad for a Wordpress theme.
Please, fix it for the social login buttons addons. Please, fix this kind of issuse for the “abuse report” button addon (for Buddy Press). Please, fix it for the realtime notification addon (for BuddyPress and why no realtime notification directly in the nav bar, like Facebook ?).

1) I’m not sure what you mean by “adapt the user’s community”? BuddyPress provide a registration page for users to register, just make sure you enable the registration option from your WordPress settings page.
2) Yes you can display images in posts, but bbPress does not allow you to attach images that you have not hosted yourself – you’ll need to use a bbPress plugin to do this. I suggest asking bbPress about this, since it relates to their plugin and not the theme.

Out of my hands I’m afraid this applies to any theme on the marketplace. Envato have changed their support policy. All buyers now get 6 months of free support when they purchase a theme, this includes people who bought the theme prior to this change which took place on September 1st. After the 6 months you can choose to pay for an additional 12 months of support.

and Lost password is linked to wordpress default lost password but isnt it should be theme customized. inside your theme..

1) Yes the theme comes with a demo data importer.
2) Yes registration is disabled in the demo.
3) The lost password is customized in the theme. Click the Lost Password link in the login popup menu and it goes to the lost password pop up form.

Can you recheck the Lost Password page again. as its keep taking me back to wordpress default lost password page.
and also one more issue. when i click on login button without entering any field, it take me to wordpress default login page again.. Isn’t it suppose to validate the required field and then show error if login credentials are wrong and stays on the same page.

Oh sorry I thought you were referring to another theme of mine which has this functionality! Yes the Buddy theme redirects to the default WordPress login and lost password pages currently, there are plans to move all of this to the frontend in a future update. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi GP, i really like to use this theme for my community site, but i have a few questions first. (1) Can i create a 3 or 4 column post masonry layout with left sidebar? (2) Is it compatible with Visual Composer? (3) I need to create custom profile fields (with a plugin), will they be visible on the registration form? (4) Lost pasword brings to the default wp backend login form, will this be changed ? Thanks!

1) There is no masonry feature with this theme, you’ll need to use a plugin such as Visual Composer to insert one into a page and then it will work.
2) The theme has not been tested with the Visual Composer, but I don’t see any reason why it would not work.
3) As far as I know the BuddyPress registration page will display your custom fields.
4) There are plans in the future to add a front-end lost password page.
