Hi Erik. How do I remove the navbar completely in 2.02?
If you would like to remove the navbar on all pages, add this to your css:
#site-navbar, .navbar-fixer { display: none; }
To remove only on a specific page within your site, locate the unique class for that page, than add this to your css:
.page-id-XXX #site-navbar,
.page-id-XXX .navbar-fixer { display: none; }
Cheers, Erik
Worked a treat. Thanks. You Rock!!
Your welcome!

Hi Erik, I cannot access the page builder. I am just faced with the generic Wordpress page editor. I have set the template to Page Builder, but nothing happens.
I think maybe ACF isn’t working?
I’ve sorted it now, but I seem unable to change the colour for the Counter numbers?
Also I want to add buttons to the content of my overviews. Any advice?
Hello,
I cannot access the page builder. I am just faced with the generic Wordpress page editor. I have set the template to Page Builder, but nothing happens.
Good to hear that you have already solved it, but can you tell me what was the problem? Just to know – in case it affects other users also – so i can provide a fix for it in the next theme update.
I seem unable to change the colour for the Counter numbers
It’s a known bug, will be fixed in the upcoming theme update. Until than, you can fix with adding this to your css:
.counter-value { color: #YOURCOLOR !important; }
Also I want to add buttons to the content of my overviews.
You mean adding buttons below the content of each overview, or one large button below all overview items?
Cheers, Erik
I fixed the counter colour problem after seeing your previous post. The only issue I know have is changing the colour of the text beneath the headings. It is light grey and hard to read. My website is www.iainrobwright.com. Underneath ABOUT THE AUTHOR is “Husband, Father, Author” and I want that to be darker.
I fixed the page builder problem by deleting my plugins folder via FTP and then reinstalling the necessary Flatbook plugins via Wordpress Dashboard. It’s been working fine ever since, even after having reinstalled all of my previous plugins. Something was obviously causing a conflict. I think it may have been Thrive Page builder.
I mean a purchase button beneath each overvieew item. I want to list my books and have a purchase button underneath each (or add some hyperlinks to the text). I have set up 2 titles already at www.iainrobwright.com
Just released an update what, contains a new option in the Customizer for recoloring the section title, section subtitle and divider icon separately. Also the description field of the Overview Items has been changed to a wysiwyg editor, so now you will be able to add text links or buttons to the content below each overview.
It may take 1-2 days until the update will be accepted (currently it’s in the review queue), but you will receive an email notification when it’s approved. Cheers, Erik
Great. The update is really useful. I am still having problems with my slider not displaying properly on Android-Chrome, and my header on my blog page still have the incorrect theme attached. It has the background for Demo2 attached. www.iainrobwright.com/blog
Where do I find the new counter colour option?
Happy that you like the update!
I haven’t forgot your suggestions wrote in email, those features and fixes will be added in the next update (hopefully later today), as i didn’t have enough time to integrate everything before releasing v2.0.2
The counter color inherits the Theme Color option can be found at Appearance > Customize > Color > Global.
If you’d like to define a custom color (different from the theme color), just add this to your css:
.counter-value { color: #YOURCOLOR !important; }

Hi Erik,
I was able to have load icons on the menus in the old version of the theme now the icons appear as a broken glass images. Obviously not linking properly to the Font-Awesome library.
Please advise.
Hello, which version of the theme are you using now? Cheers, Erik
v2.0.1 and also when I use icons the vertical alignment becomes top not middle as it is in the initial setup…
The 2.0 version doesn’t include the feature of having icons in the nav menu… Anyway, if you send me over your site link, i can check for you why the icons don’t load there. Cheers, Erik
Why would you remove this feature??? Honestly I am very disappointed … I was expecting better …
Will be added again soon, but not priority. As i said before, if you don’t like it – just switch back to the old version. Cheers, Erik
Wat kind of response is that??? It is not a priority…
It is not a question if I would like to switch back to the old version… Keeping the site updated is crucial and I have the old version running.
I am trying to rebuild the site to look like the site I have, but because it is not priority to you I might have to send you a bill for my time and effort to deal with what you have created, for all the hassle not only for me and my client but for everybody that have ever purchased your theme and will go through this update…
Like it or not, i won’t argue about this, it’s not your decision to make. In the meantime, if i were in your shoes, i would start reading the documentation as everybody else does, instead of yelling with the author who is trying to help you since your last 10 comments.
Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik
I have been trying to change the heading size in the slider but it doesn’t seem to be working. Here is what i am trying
.slide h1 { font-size: 46; }
I will also be trying to change the heading text size in other sections so if you can point me in the right direction for this also, it would be much appreciated.
Terence Sweeney
Hi Terence, are you using the latest (2.0.1) version of flatbook / or one of the older versions (< 1.3.1)? Need to know that to help you with this. Cheers, Erik
Thanks I upgraded to 2.02 and worked it out. Loving the extra functionality in this upgrade :o)
Great to hear that you love the new features!
Let me know if you need something else in the future. Cheers, Erik
Upgraded to 2.0.1 today for my website in development based on this theme, staged here until I put it into production: http://www.kachan.org
1) Unfortunately header BG picture problems persist on Safari for Mac OS. Now Safari is apparently not scaling the BG header picture. Scales fine on Chrome and Firefox. Visit the site above, and you’ll see it display as intended on Chrome and Firefox but not Safari.
2) In 2.0.0, counter items inherited the font defined in “Headings Font Family” (in my case, the “Special Elite” font). In 2.0.1 they do not. How can I override the font and color of counter items? I see they should now be addressable with a “counter-value” class, but I’m not sure where or how to format the CSS to override this. Could use dummy-level instruction and a snippet.
3) Could also use CSS override guidance on how to color the Contact 7 form submit button, which currently appears as the theme’s default green.
4) Even after upgrading to 2.0.1 and clearing caches, the nav menu doesn’t gracefully transition responsively for me when resizing the site to tablet-type screen widths. I get some widths where the nav menu is not properly reflowing when resized in Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Same behaviour exhibited in 2.0.0. Try on my site above.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello, glad to hear that you were able to put your site into production and special thanks for your detailed feedbacks of the bugs noticed of the 2.0 version, as it’s still kind of fresh
1.) Right, it will be fixed in the next theme update – expected in a few days from now.
2.) Add this to your style.css:
.counter-value {
color: #ec7e41 !important;
font-family: "Special Elite" !important;
}
3.) Sure, here you go:
.wpcf7-submit {
background-color: #ec7e41 !important;
}
4.) Ok, going to check it with several browsers and also provide a css fix in the next update.
Happy customizing! Cheers, Erik
Updated reply:
4.) It seems that you have too many inline menu items, so the whole menu breaks below the place designed to hold it. Suggesting to remove 1-2 menu items, and it will render as expected.
Cheers, Erik
Solutions 2, 3 and 4 worked great, thanks. Looking forward to the next update to fix background images in headers in Safari.
One more thing… if updating the theme anyway in the next few days, I’m seeing situations where overview items don’t center properly at certain narrow browser widths. Everything else in the theme seems to resize well except overview items, which, sometimes at narrow browsers sizes, can appear unusually left of center. Reproducible on Chrome, Firefox and Safari for Mac OS.
Yeah i have already noted that, will be fixed in the update. Anyway, if you notice other bugs, while using the theme, please let me know. Cheers, Erik
Do I need to repurchase to get the December 1 upgrade? Thanks.
Nope, just download it from themeforest. Please read the update instructions before heading in the process. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
I just downloaded the new version of your theme (2.0.1). I have created a Child theme and have modified the theme a lot. I was very surprised to fined out the the new version 2.0.1 is not compatible and it doesn’t work with my Child Theme and it is given me 500 error.
Also the are 4 files that cannot be uploaded to the server because of naming problem – the names contain ”%” in the file name.
Please see below for details: flatbook/inc/admin/assets/clients_section/19.3%.png flatbook/inc/admin/assets/clients_section/24.3%.png flatbook/inc/admin/assets/clients_section/33.3%.png flatbook/inc/admin/assets/clients_section/49.3%.png
Also looking at the file structure between 1.3.1 and 2.0.1 they are so different and I believe this might be the problem why the new version is not working with the Child Theme.
Please advise.
Thank you.
Kamen
Hi Kamen,
You are right, please read the announcement below.
As the 2.0 version includes many new features and was built on a brand new frontend and admin framework to enhance the visual appearance and extend the customizing abilities of the theme, it’s not really compatible with the older versions of flatbook.
If you would like to have the new layouts, you will most likely have to re-create your contents. I believe, it’s a small disadvantage comprared to the new features you get with the v2.0 release.
Please read more in the updating instructions of the new theme documentation created for 2.0 version.
Also the are 4 files that cannot be uploaded to the server because of naming problem – the names contain ”%” in the file name.
Thanks for the notice, it will be fixed in the next theme update – expected in a few days from now. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
I am not sure why you did that but I find this version way more confusing and not user-friendly.
1. I don’t know what is the reason but now you have restricted the number of message in the Message Section to 6. I was hoping for real improvement not more restrictions. In my present theme I have 9 lines of Messages and I might need more.
2. The restrictions to the number of characters used in the chapters’ names and descriptions is another feature which is NOT an improvement. Can fix that as well.
I am transferring the content from my clients site to the new theme but my client and I , were are not happy at all.
3. The child theme is not working as well giving me an internal error as well. I have done so many child-themes I had never had this kind of problem. Could you please look at this as well this is a crucial for additional theme manipulation and customization.
These are some of the issues I have notice so far and I have not gone really deep into looking for problems.
Thank you.
Hello,
Sorry to hear that you find the new version confusing, but it is much more powerful and features many new customizing options – so i believe that after a few updates with bugfixes – it will be more useful and customizeable than it was before.
1.) To raise the limit of the message items, open your acf-custom.php file from the inc/admin/ folder, and on line 3405, change this: 'max' => 6, to your desired amount.
2.) The limits are used to have a processable amount of content on your pages to avoid “my site loads slow” or “my chapter title breaks in two line” issues, i think it’s useful. If you are not happy with the new version, you can switch back to the older one anytime.
3.) Sure, i will check it and test on different environments – and if it’s wrong – i will provide a fix in the next update.
Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik. Also is is possible to have small images instead of the icons in the ‘includes’ section?
Hi, that’s a more difficult one – requiring more time – so it’s considered as a paid customization.
Let me know in your email if you still need it, and i will give you a quote for this development. Cheers, Erik
Ok. Thanks. Probably wont bother as it is a minor desire.
Okay than. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik. Is it possible to add images in the pricing section? ie an image of the product in each variant.
Hi, sure with some additional css adjustments. Please contact me in email with this request, and i will help you to achieve it.
It would speed up the process if you send me over your wordpress login details and the images to place above each pricing table. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik. I just upgraded to 2.02 and found this functionality built in. Thanks
Sure, this feature has been added to v2.0.2 upon your request
Cheers, Erik
Does this integrate easily with woocommerce?
Hello! Nope, at this point it is a marketing landing page theme for showcasing / advertising products – not an entire webshop theme – with WooCommerce integration.
Cheers, Erik
Hello, for administration, I need to rename the sections, because e.g. “testimonials” will be used for “services” my customer won’t understand anything otherwise. I already tried via update_option-function in my child theme – it works, but any time I update theme options via admin interface, this will be resetted again. Can you give me a hint, how I can do that without hacking “fb_theme_options.php”? Thank you very much, Melanie
Hi Melanie, can you create a wp user for me and send the login details in email? I need to check your backend first. Cheers, Erik
Just bought and installed FlatBook – thanks for good work. But out of the box, am not seeing background pictures (e.g. top of the home image, behind the purchase options tables, etc.) in Safari for Mac 9.0.1. But I get them fine in Firefox and Chrome. Known issue? Is there a fix?
Hello, thanks for your purchase – i’m glad you like it! You are right, it will be fixed in the next theme update.
Until than, try to use a css hack, to target Safari 9+ only – add this to your style.css file:
_::-webkit-:not(:root:root), #site-header {
background-image: url("http://demo.eriktailor.com/flatbook/demo-1/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/header_bg.jpg");
background-attachment: fixed;
}
Let me know if you need further explanation. Cheers, Erik
Help! Suddenly my background on the website has changed to a light color and my “buy now” buttons (and other elements) are no longer visible. I made no changes to the theme options! This appears to have happened spontaneously. The website is mokapu360.com.
Thanks.
Hello Ray. Sounds strange – i checked your site, and there are no javascript errors shown in the console – what may could cause conflicts like this sometimes.
Just a thought: what happens if you set a new theme main color in the Theme Options panel? Cheers, Erik
I can’t find anything called “theme main color.” Do you mean “primary color scheme?” I tried changing that and there was no change to the problem. Is there a way to attach a screen shot to show the problem with the “buy now” buttons. I am losing sales and that’s not good.
Yeah i meant that.. Anyway, the most quick solution would be if you create a wordpress user for me and send the login details in email, and i will check your backend to see what’s going on there. Cheers, Erik
Will do, but I need your email to set up user in WordPress. Thanks.
Email sent! Cheers, Erik
Hi,
I would like to add video testimonials to this section. Can I do this?
Thanks Christoph
Into which section?
e.g. to the testimonials section – but it can be a different one. To the “Testimonials” I only can put text into it
You are only able to add your testimonials as it’s default behaviour (means avatar image and quote text), however you can add your custom video based testimonials below or above the default testimonials section. Cheers, Erik
Hi,
I uploaded several “slider background images” with the size of 2000×625 px. But it still doesn’t fit.
What’s the right size for the slider background?
Thanks! Christoph
Hi Christoph! You need to cut your custom background image to fill out the recommended 2000×625px size, without any white border (as what your desired image has at the moment). Please cut and upload it, and let me know how it worked out. Cheers, Erikl
Okay, I will give a try to this. Thx!
Go ahead! Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik – sorry, it doesn’t work. Just uploaded the right format without any white border: [link removed]
But it still doesn’t fit as background: www.shopping-anzeigen.de
#slider { background-position: center 168px !important; }
Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik – now the image is in the center, but it’s still to large
#slider { background-size: 100% auto !important; }
Cheers, Erik
Perfect, thanks!
Your welcome!
Cheers, Erik
One of my clients’ websites is built using this theme, it looks great. However, I am considering updating to wordpress 4.3, will Flatbook still work properly?
Hello, glad you like it. Sure, it will work with WordPress 4.3 either. Cheers, Erik
Hi, we are trying unsuccessfully to change the Title of one of the Home Sections.
We would like to change the ‘What you will learn’ Includes section title, however changing, saving and even deleting and creating a new section with a new title always results in the section appearing as ‘What you will learn’. Can you help or is this viewed as ‘customisation’?
Many thanks, Martyn
Hi Martyn, thanks for your purchase!
Nope, this isn’t considered as a customization, as it’s the default functionality of the theme. However, i assume that there’s something wrong there if you are noticing this behaviour of the section titles.
I can’t say more before checking your backend, so please send me over your admin login details in email, and i will go after this problem and help you solve it.
Cheers, Erik
Hi Eric. I am wanting to change the background color of the ‘about the author” section to white. I have tried changing the css but cant get it to work. What css code would I use to do this?
.about { background: #fff !important; }
Cheers, Erik
Thanks
Sure
Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
Thanks for a great theme! I was wondering if there is a way to remove the samples sections altogether?
Let me know!
Thank you!
Hello, thanks for your purchase – glad you like it!
Would you like to remove the whole Samples section? Please specify, not sure what do you mean. Cheers, Erik
Hi Erik,
I would like to remove the whole Samples section. Thanks.
You can switch it off at Appearance > Theme Options > Home Sections. Cheers, Erik
ooh got it! Thanks!!
No problem
Cheers, Erik
Hello Erik. I have just installed the theme and followed the installation instructions however have received the following errors when trying to import the demo content.
Thanks Terence Sweeney
Hello Terence, thanks for your purchase!
Don’t worry, it only means that the mentioned dummy images could not be imported for some reason… If you need the dummy images, please contact me in email and i will send them to you, but assuming you would replace those plain gray placeholder images with yours anyway
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Cheers, Erik
