Question, I tried your emailtemplate linus. But on ipad in portrait mode the body can be moved in the viewport. It doesn’t stick to the middle? Is it posible to fixed the content into te middle and prevent scroling to left or right within the viewport?

Please try with the unmodified version. Please understand that I can’t provide support on customized versions of the template.
I guess you have removed some important CSS or HTML so it break in some clients.

There were a lot of changes from the markup for better compatibility. removed two modules and introduced two new one.
Doesn’t use image buttons but editable the buttons now. Better support for MC editor.

If you don’t have issues you don’t have to update. You can always keep a backup of your files.

For MyMail it’s 4.0 and you can overwrite the files to get the latest copy. You can also update via the backend from MyMail at the templates section.
I’m sorry but there’s no change log. I recommend to backup your old files in any case.

Do the templates that you’ve made work with the “auto” function in the MyMail plugin or do they need to be filled in manually like the other non-MyMail templates
Most of the modules in my templates work with the auto feature. It’s basically a simple flag in the module tag so you can add them by yourself if the author has missed it.

Hi.
I thought I was doing really well as my HTML only newsletter looked great in Outlook and the online version looks good also. I then sent the newsletter to a Yahoo and a GMail account to check and it looks really bad. The ‘Read more’ button only shows half the graphic, the separator is approx 8 times thicker than it should be so looks like a large gray box, and the blank separator seems to be the same thickness so there’s large spaces where it’s used.
I checked previous posts and it mentions to use inline css which is what I am doing so have that covered.
Bit disappointing really so can you please recommend a solution to get the newsletter to display correctly in Gmail & Yahoo as many people use these for their email accounts.

Spent a lot of time working with this as it’s not as simple as it first looks.
I eventually fixed the ‘half’ read more button by giving the actual png a dark background in Photoshop. Deleting the odd blank separator removed some of the white space in GMail but it still looks awful in Yahoo mail.
I finally checked GMail with my mobile phone and found that the email newsletter isn’t responsive at all and I had to drag the page around on the screen to see it all. Looking further into it I noticed that if I clicked on the ‘Having problems? view it online’ link then everything collapsed correctly into a single column on the phone.
Why can’t the actual Gmail / Yahoo email collapse like the web version does? Perhaps it’s because all the <style> css at the top of the page isn’t inline so not used? Such a shame as it really does look crap in both of those on a phone.
Not sure whether to continue with this or look for an alternative solution

How do you send your emails? Normally all ESP do the inline job so you don’t have to care about it.
If you need to inline CSS you can always use this service: http://premailer.dialect.ca/
I’ve tested my templates with Litmus so they should works as expected. I know Gmail and Yahoo requires inline styles to display content correctly

Thanks for the reply.
Using http://premailer.dialect.ca/ did the trick to clear things up for both Yahoo and Gmail when viewing on a desktop. No change though when viewing the same email on a mobile phone as there’s very large spaces / white space between each item as you go down the newsletter page.
I guess so long as I keep the ‘Having problems? view it online’ link then people with mobiles can view that version.
Can you please keep this post in the comments section as it will help out others in the future that are only using the html version and spend hours trying to make it look correct.
Basically html straight from the Template Builder isn’t user friendly at all as is unless your a wizard coder and can adjust it for correct responsive display for multiple email clients. If not you need to use a service like premailer.dialect.ca to clean up the html or use the export to Mailchimp and whatever the other one is.

Hi, I just purchased your template and am enjoying getting the hang of the Template Builder. Never used one before.
The area at the top that the logo sits on top of, is it possible at all to give it a background image rather than just a solid #3E4345 colour? I think an image up there with the logo on top would look nice on my newsletter

I see. I am developing a newsletter which will be distributed via Mailchimp. I am new to newsletters but I am familiar w/css. In your editor, am I able to adjust things such as rounded corners, drop shadows, padding and margins? Thanks.

Sorry no, the template builder is for the layout only. You need to alter the HTML/CSS directly
Although I doubt it’s a good idea to add thi “fancy” stuff like rounded corners or drop shadow cause many clients have issues to display this!

I have been a big supporter of yours in the past but your TOTAL lack of support in the past few weeks is outrageous. I have logged three requests because we cannot get Linus to function as stated. We have spent a stupid number of hours trying to get it working.
Why? Because as others here have stated, there is a margin issue with the default template included with MyMail. So I bought Linus and the ‘Template Builder’. What a joke!
Yes, it may very well be a user error. BUT we have studied the available documentation, watched the videos and are STILL banging our heads against the wall.
