I’m thinking about to buy this theme for my existing blog. Only problem is, i don’t know which size of photos is required for displaying them right. At the moment all the photos in my blog are 720px width, would that be enought to use it with your theme? What’s the ideal size for normal photos / not retina?
Is there also the possibility to don’t use the big photo (Slider) under the logo at all. I just want to begin with my articles displayed.
Is it also possible to don’t display the instagram account in the footer?

1. 720px should work too but it won’t look sharp on retina display devices.
2. Yes you can also turn off slider and start displaying recent posts instead.
3. Yes you can turn off Instagram photo at footer too.

1. We recommend image size at least 1024px. On demo site we are using 1440px images.
2. Category page template is global setting so it’s applied to all category pages.

I have raised a support ticket several times but my issue has not been dealt with properly. My site is exceptionally slow to load with this theme – taking up to 19 seconds on a pingdom test. I have compressed all images, removed several plugins, installed cache and followed all your advice but this has not solved the problem.
On my last ticket you recommended compressing javascript and css in theme settings > script. I have done this for javascript but it has not improved the speed. I did this for CSS and cleared the cache but it still breaks the theme – no pages load at all with CSS compression enabled.
You have repeatedly tried to blame my server for the problem but I have unlimited hosting so this is not the issue. To prove this I removed the grand blog theme and installed another theme, and the site was really fast.
My web developer ran a full test on the site with Grand Blog installed and found that there is some code missing which makes it incompatible with Explorer 11, which is likely the cause of the slow load speed on all browsers. I asked you to install this code but you haven’t.
This issue is to do with your scripts having a really long wait time, but I have not had a response from your developers which has solved the problem. Please can you either advise how to fix this or how to go about obtaining a refund, as currently the theme is not fit for purpose.

Basically every themes have different way to integrated their code. In our themes, we have to follow WordPress and Themeforest standard so the standard said that when we want to initiate script. We have to add it to footer with external script file. So that’s why we are using script like http://www.rootsconsultancy.co.uk/wp-content/themes/grandblog/templates/script-custom-css.php
Generally it’s generate javascript dynamically from PHP code and it seems to be slow on your server. My best guess is your server memory or CPU allowance might be slow or share by many sites so it’s process slowly.
If you look at our demo site result http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/dJxn4V/http://themes.themegoods2.com/grandblog/demo/ all scripts seem to be loading very fast so I think your server performance is related to this too.
If you can’t change your server performance. Then I recommend you few plugins which can help you reduce site loading speed.
CSS and Javascript Compression
You can enable CSS and Javascript compression via Theme Setting > Script. This option will compress javascript CSS and javascript file to smaller size.
Caching Plugin
You can use 3rd party plugin to add caching to your WordPress site. It helps speed up response time to your visitors. Here are 2 plugins we recommend.

This is what you’ve already told me on my support ticket. As you’ll see from my comment, I have already investigated the server and this is not the issue. I have already added CSS and Javascript compression and as you’ll see in my comment above the CSS compression is breaking the theme and the javascript is making no difference to the slow load speed. As you’ll also see, I have already added the cache plugin and image optimiser. The load speed time is still 19 seconds. This is definitely an issue with the theme. Every time I contact support I get the same generic answer which doesn’t fix the problem. Please either respond with a solution or tell me how to get a refund. If I don’t receive a response which solves the problem I will be raising a complaint with Themeforest as this is unacceptable.
Issue 2: When logged in as admin the infite scroll doesn’t work. the call to the infinite loop script always returns “-1”, once logged out it starts working again.

We believe there is a bug in the template.
GrandBlog supports WPML as it is stated in the documentation.
However we can uncovered that when browsing a non-default language site (e.g. Dutch) the infinite scroll fetches the subsequent posts from the default language (e.g. English). This is currently blocking our rollout of multiple languages using this template. Can you please advice and provide a fix for this ?
This could be related to the cookie which never changes the local to the selected language and probably defaults to the browser language only.
Here is the issue.
The cookie property “_icl_current_language” is set with value “nl” as expected.
The response header returned from a call to the infitie scrool “script-post-infinite-scroll.php” resets the cookie to “en”
