Does Buddy have paid memberships and different access levels?
Hi there,
No Buddy does not have these features, if it did I would have advertised it!
You’ll need to use a plugin such as s2Member for something like that.
Quick pre-sales questions:
Search is not finding “Quickly expedite holistic e-tailers” subject when I search for “quick” or “quickly”.
Where is the signup screen?
If I hit login with invalid or empty credentials, it goes ro wp login page. Is it possible to show it inside the site theme without WP traces(images, links)?
Hi there,
1) WordPress doesn’t search bbPress topics by default, this is the same with any theme. bbPress search on the forum page finds this topic when you search “quick”. You’ll need to use a plugin to extend the default search functionality.
2) http://buddywp.wpengine.com/login/
3) The theme doesn’t currently have these options.
Are we able to create user levels? Then create groups that certain users with levels can only access. For example, I might create a group called Lesson Four. And only users with level 3 and above can access that group.
Hi there,
The theme doesn’t have these features and neither does BuddyPress out of the box. You would need to Google something like “buddypress user levels” to see if there’s a plugin that has such features.
Before I purchase Buddy theme, I am wanting to know what plugin or theme I can integrate so members can post up to sell items. Such as the buddy theme with an Ebay type plugin. Any idea what will work? Thank you
Hi there,
Since this isn’t an eCommerce theme I haven’t tested any with it. WooCommerce should work though and they provide an extension that allow users to sell their own items.
can I use Visual Composer and Slider Revolution with this theme?
Hi there,
Both plugins should work with the theme yes.
Hi, Your theme is great and I am excited to buy and use this, but before installing this theme, I have a question.
can I make a grid layout like http://hamyarwp.com/tutorials ?
Awaiting your reply.
thanks again
Hi there,
Yes you can display items in a grid.
Hi. I have install the theme. How i can change the logo buddy in the header ? thanks
Hi there, it sounds like you need theme support. Just so you know the ThemeForest comments area is a dedicated place for people who have not yet purchased the theme and want to ask pre-purchase questions.

Thanks.
I want to integrate theme with WooCommerce, WooCommerce Subscriptions, WooCommerce Memberships & EditionGuard for WooCommerce. Do you know if this theme will integrate well?
Hi there,
The theme will work with WooCommerce, but I don’t know about the WooCommerce extensions.
On line 121 of functions.php you have the following code: wp_enqueue_script(‘gp-swfobject’, ‘http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/swfobject/2.2/swfobject.js', array(‘jquery’), ’’, false);
With an SSL enabled site, the hardcoded http: reference causes a ‘mixed content’ error, thereby the referenced js script does not load. I would appreciate if you could adapt the call depending on the site url (http or https).
Hi there,
Your support for this item has expired (you received 6 months of free support when you purchased the theme). You will need to renew your support in order for me to help you. To do this visit the item page where you purchased the theme from and click the “Renew support” button on the right hand side.
For more information please see: https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/207886473-Extending-and-Renewing-Item-Support
Hi
You do not need to help me on that, I corrected it myself for my installation. It would be helpful for those customers of yours which are concerned about either security and/or google ranking (ssl has impact on ranking).
The buddy theme doesn’t do too well on google pagespeed insights, which is also relevant for google ranking. The reason for which is that all js and css is blocking instead of async (which hurts load times). Do you have any plans on improving this? If you do, I will renew my support.
Please advise.
Most themes do not have JS and CSS rendering blocking. I’m not sure if I will add this feature, I’d need to look into it. Many developers believe it’s the user’s responsibility to optimize the theme for the web. I’m not sure where I stand. However I did a quick Google and found plugins that eliminate render blocking JavaScript e.g. https://wordpress.org/plugins/async-javascript/
Hello!
Tell me please where can I change the name that is in the browser?

I would like to have screenshots from both logged in user- view and the admin- view. I would need to see how replying to posts look like, and also information about wordpress plugin compatibility.
Plugins to confirm: -CometChat -rtMedia -BuddyPress Live Notification -Report media
Please email me screenshots and compatibility information at masa.hrpro [at] gmail.com
Hi there,
Not sure why I need to email you when I can just reply to your questions here.
I already provide screenshots of the admin interface (click the Screenshots button on the item page). As for the logged in users view they see exactly what you see except they have a profile button next to the Login button with their username.
The theme has not been tested with these plugins unfortunately. With thousands of plugins available it’s not possible to test all of them with the theme. However we try to test some of the most popular plugins including BuddyPress, bbPress WooCommerce. Most plugins should work with theme out of the box, however if the plugin has a lot of frontend content then its styling may not match the styling of the theme.
Ok, maybe if i ask spesific questions it would be better for you to understand.
- When someone creates a post: Can you comment this post? - If you can comment the post, can you also add media to the reply to the post? - can users add media in groups? (wall, comments etc.) - when posting a link, will it show preview of the link content or just a link? (for example, a youtube link shows video window)
I asked for the screenshots, as you mentioned on the support site a few times that you will provide if needed?
Thanks in advance.
All themes support comments in posts – this is not a theme feature it’s a WordPress feature which you can see in the demo.
The WordPress comment form supports images using HTML tags. Links are automatically hyperlinked. Video links do not automatically show videos. This is the same for every theme unless they state they have extra features.
Users cannot attach media to BuddyPress Groups. They can post a comment in a group and add images/links just like they can in post comments as I described above. You can test BuddyPress on any theme to see what features it does and does not have for a logged in user.
I’m not sure what screenshots would show in these cases – there’s no logged in user interface for comments. To insert links or images you just need to type or copy and paste the links and manually add HTML tags for images.
Hi, I have two more question. 1. When I try to login via your demo site (which I obviously can’t) I get referred to the backend login screen of Wordpress. Is this a bug or just a setting issue? 2. How do you display ‘Latest Activity’, ‘Latest Posts’ etc in the mid-section? Is this done via short codes? These are different pages, right?
Hi there,
1) This is is not a bug. The theme only provides a login page, it does not currently offer a frontend login error interface.
2) Yes this is done via shortcodes.
Hi, I would like my users to be able to create their own portfolio (via the frontend). Would this be possible or can only the admin create portfolios?
Hi there,
This is not possible with the theme, you’ll need to use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-submitted-posts – but you’ll need to check if this works with custom post types (portfolios).
Hi, like your theme and have any question. Are the userprofiles of Buddypress and BBPress managed by one site or are there two panels for the user? If I insall buddypress and bbpress on a standard theme, I have two profile pages, and thats not so nice.
Thanks and regards Pare
Hi there,
bbPress does not provide user profiles – if you have BuddyPress enabled bbPress links to the same user profile pages as BuddyPress.
thanks for your reply. is there a option to setup the registration page with custom fileds like name, city etc. and a checkbox for terms and conditions?
BuddyPress provide these options for their registration page.
I have already purchased this product and have sent in a ticket and I’m currently waiting for a reply. In the meantime, I was just wondering if anyone else were having alignment problems, especially with the home page that you get after setting up the ‘imported demo content’ Most of the other pages seem to be working fine but the home page and some of the buddypress related pages among other ones seem to be having some alignment issues. I was just wondering if anybody had any quick solutions to provide just in case it takes a couple of days for the ghost guys to get back with me
I’ve responded to your ticket on the support site.
Hello
I am a school teacher in charge of out IT department, and we are looking for a WordPress theme which works with buddypress and have found this, and it looks fantastic for what we need.
However we need to ensure that it works with the files we already have and need to use on a daily basis. We want to have this installed for every class in the school (there’s 1000 students, split across 30 classes), so it has to be perfect
IS there any way we can try this and confirm it’s suitable? If it is, we will be more than happy to go ahead and purchase the license for each class.
Thanks for your help!
Hi there,
Unfortunately there’s no way to test the demo before you purchase it. However if you have any specific questions or want to see any backend screenshots please let me know. I already have several screenshots which you can find by clicking the Screenshots button on the item page.
Morning,
Thanks for the response.
We’d need to confirm that it works with our current SharePoint files which is used across the network. It’s the best theme we’ve found, but the school need to confirm that the product will work 100% with our pre-existing setup which is why I asked if we could somehow be able to verify this.
While I’m working on giving users demo access, even if this was already set up you still wouldn’t be able to see if your own files worked with the theme on a demo site. You would require a free copy of the theme to test this out, as you can imagine this isn’t practical. As a seller I can’t give out free copies of the theme for users to test as I have no guarantee they’ll buy the theme.
Buddy is a standard WordPress and BuddyPress theme. You can install the BuddyPress plugin for free with any theme. So I would suggest using it with the default Twenty Fifteen theme and see if your SharePoint files work. If they do, then they should work with Buddy. If they don’t then they won’t work with Buddy.
Dear GhostPool !!!!
This theme is awesome.
Thanks.
Hello, I’m looking into buying your theme but before i do i want to ask if you know if it’s compatible with UltimateMember plugin used in Wordpress?
Hi there,
I have not tested Buddy with this plugin so I cannot say if it’s compatible unfortunately. This was created as a BuddyPress theme only.
Hello, Is this theme allows to show some slider or a horizontal post list of a specfic category?
Hi there,
The theme comes with a slider (as shown on the homepage) and can show posts in a list on category pages e.g. http://buddywp.wpengine.com/blog/
Thanks for reply, Another questions: 1. Is there a possiblity to manage members groups with their restrictions? 2. Who can submit posts which are in categories? 3. Who can create new groups? 4. How “The Features” widget works? What does it show?
1) What kind of restrictions?
2) By default only admins and editors – you assign the roles. These are default WordPress options that apply to any theme.
3) You can choose to let only you or any logged in user create a group.
4) It’s a shortcode that displays posts, you can choose what categories are displayed, the order and number of the posts etc.
Thanks, Is it possible to set a premoderation of created new groups by a logged in users?
I’m not sure what you mean sorry?
