This theme worked fine for me until I updated it, and now all my full width background images are distorted completely out of proportion. I have since installed yet another new release of the theme only to have the same problem. I’d love to go back to the old version but I don’t have the files anymore. At this point my support is expired and it doesn’t seem fair to have to pay $42 just so I can tell you that your newest theme update broke the background images. I’ve gone through the public tickets, gone through all the updating/deleting/replacing steps you’ve outlined, added some CSS you suggested in those tickets (where people were having the same issue) and nothing works. The images appear to be fine in Safari but no other browser at this point. Is this a fix you plan to issue or is this just something I have to live with?

This is the site I have it on, which worked absolutely perfectly until I updated the theme. I made no changes to the site at all. If you look at any of the inside pages you can see how the background images are distorting. If you look at it in Safari, the photos look the way they always have (which is fine), but in other browsers the photos are not the same (they are scaled up quite a bit). I tried disabling parallax but nothing changed. I tried changing the size of the image, nothing changed. If I reduce the amount of content in the text box, the photos scale down a bit but not enough to be “normal”. If this means going back to an old version of the theme, I’m happy to do it because right now it looks pretty bad.

Now not only are my background images being distorted but I can no longer even set a background color on a row. it simply won’t honor the color when I save it. There isn’t much left I can do except leave the site a mess or switch themes. What am I supposed to do about setting colors on rows?

Please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can see why that would be occurring as there’s no known issue with BG colors not working. I’ll also look further into why your row BGs became more blown up after updating

In the current version of the theme, Salient Visual Composer v 4.11.2 is available which is the only version compatible with WordPress 4.5. Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer

Hello! For some reason my theme is showing some weird things. The visual composers of my portfolio don’t work anymore, they say that they have a blank page but the code is still in there. Also, my links in the inserted buttons don’t work. When I insert the url: my-url.com/portfolio … then it links to: my-url.com/my-url.com/portfolio
Please help me out, I am kind of on a tight schedual to finish the website!

In the current version of the theme, Salient Visual Composer v 4.11.2 is available which is the only version compatible with WordPress 4.5. Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer

Hey – as of now this would require custom css or development to add an extra color integrated in the theme. Have you checked out Envato Studio in regards?

you’ll either need to update to the latest version of Salient to get the fix or patch that section of the init.js file which is not compatible with WP 4.5. If you open the init.js file in the JS folder you can search for the line and change
.wpb_column[data-hover-bg^=#]to
.wpb_column[data-hover-bg^="#"]
When trying to update SVC I receive the following error “An error occurred while updating Salient Visual Composer: Update package not available.”
I see in a comment to palsy1149 about a month ago saying that in order to update the VC to version 4.10 or higher you must delete version 4.9.2 first.
Will deleting the current version remove the page content constructed with SVC in the page editor? Will I lose all of my work?

That’s correct – and no it won’t delete your page content, all will still be there after you reinstall the Salient VC plugin

once you’ve updated Salient you’ll need to head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update the Visual Composer plugin as well to get the current version (4.11.2) and the only one compatible with WP 4.5

Also, don’t forget once you’ve updated Salient you’ll need to head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update the Visual Composer plugin as well to ensure WP 4.5 compatibility.

Latest WP Version 4.5, Latest Salient 7.0.8
Visual composer stopped working properly. Tried both on PC and Mac, on Firefox and Chrome… Visual Composer is not responding. Is the theme still using customized Visual Composer or I need to install original VC to solve the problem? I customized the theme a lot… so if I upload new files it will overwrite all my customization. Am I right?
Hey, if you’re on Salient 7.0.8 make sure you also update your Salient VC in the plugins section of your admin panel to 4.11.2
Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin. There is no standing alone Salient VC plugin… I have purchased original VC but Salient uses customized VC… So I am still in a dilemma. I’ve used to update the theme through Envato Toolkit but it is not solving the issue

Hey, i’m currently seeing the loading screen fade as normal – are you still experiencing this issue on your end?
Same problem as most seem to have after the updates… when I open a page to edit it using the VC, there’s nothing there to edit.
Actually, I was just having trouble with getting VC to update. Had to delete version 10 and then add and activate version 11.2 manually. All is good now
