First time here in the support section, usually am able to figure things out with Salient but I’m having a lot of issues getting a new site up and running.

Issue 1 – The website will not load on mobile (it gets stuck on a white screen with an endless spinning circle). However, if I turn off standard page transitions it works fine. Ideally I don’t want to do this, as the AJAX on the nectar slider or AJAX page transition is an ugly grey box. Is there a way to get the standard page transitions to work on mobile, or at the very least change the color of the AJAX loading items?

Issue 2 – Nectar Slider won’t load on mobile. I have 3 rotating nectar sliders on the homepage, but they will not load on mobile. There is just a large white space.

Issue 3 – (might be connected to the above) There is a small grey line below my header bar on mobile, when it should be flush the nectar slider.

Issue 4 – (might also be connected) The hamburger menu on mobile does’t do anything, I click it but no menu appears. I can see it for a split second if I rotate my phone from portrait to landscape, or vice versa, but it doesn’t show otherwise.

As you know having you site function on mobile is a must, so I cannot continue on any work on this site in Salient if I can’t resolve these essential issues. Hopefully someone can help! My site’s URL is piperpottery.com. Things are working as intended in desktop, just can’t get the mobile version to show anything in safari.

Also, I’ve searched high and low for a a version of the default header navigation where the menu items are left aligned next to a left aligned logo. Is this not possible without editing php files?

This has been an issue since the feature was added many versions ago. In Salient VC, when you’ve got a row inside a row, and say the internal row has 3 columns. You can edit the options for this row and set the “Columns Gap” – the width between columns. Unfortunately, this feature does nothing. It has no effect whether you set it to 10px or 100px. I’m not sure if this is a bug with Salient VC, VC in general, or if I am misinterpreting what this does?

Hello, is there a way to temporarily suspend or hide elements (especially rows) in Visual Composer? I’m looking for a way to switch certain rows on and off without having to recreate them from scratch every time.

For everyone who hasn’t seen the announcements,

In regards to WordPress 4.5

The only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.

Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.

Visual Composer is not working, I believe we need to update our theme however in wordpress it states the theme is up to date, but it isn’t as we purchased it in 2014 and have never updated. Our Theme Forest account doesn’t show that I have purchased the theme however I have the confirmation email but it doesn’t have a purchase code with it.

I can purchase another copy of Salient if that will resolve it but I don’t want to lose the website. Currently I cannot update any areas of our site that use the visual composer without editing the code.

I have also bought a copy of Visual Composer ?but realise that won’t work as salient has it built in.

after 4.5 upgrade – create new text in visual composer, add a nectar shortcode do not work, button open a shortcode panel but the shortocode list is not showing.

I have updated the theme and the visual composer as suggested in previous post by you but site still not displaying correctly and still unable to edit pages. Pages are showing code instead of images and tab settings. What else should I look at to resolve the issues?

Since updating to Wordpress 4.5 and the newest version of Salient, I’ve had some issues with the one-page animated scroll support, so my anchors are showing up behind the sticky nav. I’ll figure out a work around for now, but I thought I’d mention it for the next release.

Hi – I’m sure someone has asked this, but I haven’t been able to find the post. Is there a way to have videos play at the top of every page (Example: About, Blog, Services, Contact) on the site?

I’ve managed to get a video on the homepage rather easily, but haven’t been able to for the rest of my site pages. Thanks!!

Hi I have just read the Wordpress 4.5 update comments on this comments section. I have updated the visual composer . still having issues . Necter slider wont work . Portfolio wont work. Anyway around it ? Not sure what else to do. I havent had any issues with this theme till now. All my hard work has been lost. Please let me know if your team is fixing this issue.

I’ve tried using css you have placed on other comments but it does’nt work for this particular element as it seems to be located within the post title somehow Any help appreciated as this is important to what I am trying to do as the posts won’t be date sensitive and used as offers.

I just paid to renew Salient support. PLEASE review my Private Ticket #742017 as it’s in regards to a serious issue I asked about in February and we’re about to approach May and this issue has not been addressed by the developer of this theme nor resolved. I was promised by “T” that the creator of Salient would be looking into this serious issue, but no response.
