Do you have a map point lat/lng (the Map Marker Locations file at the bottom of the element edit screen) set in addition to your map center point lat/lng? If you only set the lat/lng for the center point no marker will display. If you do, please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look themenectar.ticksy.com/

Three questions please regarding my blog using Salient 7.0.8 (http://blog.sugarwod.com/new-feature-custom-benchmarks/):
1. Why does my body text show in a heavier font-weight compared to the body text of the bullet points? In the inspector they show exactly the same css attributes.
2. Is there a way on a single post page can not show the featured image, but rather just have a left aligned headline for the post like in previous versions of Salient?
3. When I go to the Salient Typography settings, I get three errors on the javascript console. The page is unable to load webfont, select2, and ace libraries.
This is on a clean install and upgrade to the latest versions of WordPress, Salient and Salient Visual Composer. ?I am on WordPress 4.5, Salient 7.0.8 and the latest visual composer.?

1. Could you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing and also let me know the browser?
2. In your Salient options panel you can choose one of the other “Blog header types” to go back to that style, but In the blog post you’ve shared you set a page header image so make sure to remove that as well

1. I have tested this on a Mac in Firefox, Chrome and Safari, all look the same. All of the post on the blog have the same problem, here is one of them: http://blog.sugarwod.com/new-feature-custom-benchmarks
2. Thank you. The font is still messed up, but I think that is related to #3. Because the select.js libraries aren’t loading, I can’t adjust the Typography.
3. I can’t open a ticket unfortunately, I bought this theme a while ago and my support has expired…

I figured out the reason for #1, it is this css: p { -webkit-font-smoothing: subpixel-antialiased; }
Turning this off fixed the text problem in Chrome and Safari.

By deactivating the third party plugins you have active – jetpack has a feature in it for a mobile theme that looks like your setup https://jetpack.com/support/mobile-theme/ so if you’re using that plugin, i’d start there

Problems after upgrading WP. I upgraded to the latest Salient version but virtual composer didn’t load. It was present in ‘themes>salient>plugins’, zipped then unzipped. Didn’t show under ‘Appearance > install plugins’. Tried uploading bundled and separate js-composer.zip, and get this error both ways: Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error. ?

Do you already have another Visual Composer active? You need to delete the old visual composer from your plugins tab before it will show in the install plugins tab

For everyone who hasn’t seen the announcements,
In regards to WordPress 4.5
The only version of Salient that is compatible with the latest WP is Salient 7.0.8, and the only version of Salient Visual Composer that is compatible with WP 4.5 is 4.11.2. If you’re using older versions of these and have updated to WP 4.5, your visual composer will not work.
Once you’ve updated Salient, head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer. If you’re having issues after using both the current versions, check for third party plugin issues – WP 4.5 added a new version of jQuery and a lot of plugins broke because of it.
I just installed the theme for the first time and it is not working properly. I created a new page but when I hit “preview” or save and view the page, the spinner is the only thing that shows. The page never actually loads. ?

Did you purchase the theme a while ago and indeed run out support time or do you believe that is a mistake?
Having updated to 7.0.8, I discovered that the child theme isn’t loading the stylesheet of the main theme properly.

Problem activating Salient Visual Composer:
Salient installed ok. Salient Visual Composer installed ok. On activating Salient Visual Composer, it called to access the server, needing my FTP details, stating ‘This is required to enable writing for js_composer. After entering the FTP and proceeding, it stated ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page’.
I am guessing this is a permissions issue on a file or folder that I need to change to 755 or something like that. The error message and original request does not inform me which file of folder requires the permissions change.

Hey, have you checked with your hosting company in regards just to verify the directory permissions are setup correctly to allow WP and WP plugins?
WP 4.5 has broken parts of my site. I would like to update my theme but I’m concerned about losing my content. Would this be the case or would the theme update seamlessly?

As long as you have not made modifications to the Salient files you’ll be safe to update as normal – remember once you’ve updated Salient, you’ll still need to head to the plugins section of your admin panel to update Visual Composer as well in order to get the current version (4.11.2).

Ok, I’ve successfully updated the theme and Visual Composer however, now the Nectar Slider/portfolio is not showing any pictures. There’s a space reserved and when I edit, i can see that the element is there and loaded with pictures.

I actually need to upgrade my theme to 7.0.8 and was unable to even though I followed the instructions and installed the Envato Toolkit plug-in. Can you tell me an easy way to upgrade to the new Salient theme?
And, will updating the theme take care of the visual composer issue?

1. The Envato toolkit is the easiest way to update if you’re unfamiliar with FTP, how did you first upload the theme and what error is showing when using the Envato toolkit plugin?

It doesn’t work when you create the testimonial section from scratch, but it works if you import demo content and delete everything but the testimonial section to use. I did it that way and it’s working now.

Blog VC module: how do i exclude a post by id? this should be an option field in the Blog Module….

By selecting all the categories in your blog element besides the one you wish to exclude http://i.imgur.com/MhEDD7E.png You can select multiple categories too (ctrl + click on PC and command + click on Mac).

Unfortunately that isn’t available in the blog element, I was just explaining how the same result could be achieved if you didn’t want to modify the element to allow such functionality
I’m basically looking for this arg in the function which is very old and common to exclude the most recent post:

- if we were have a check-box option in the Blog Module to do this, it’d be great, this way people can have a featured post and the blog roll underneath that excludes the most recent post, ie the feature….

ACTUALLY- just realised ‘offset’ => 1 breaks the Blog Element, it loads the same posts over and over again via Infinite Scroll – seems so bizarre that this would happen – i hope there’s an easy fix!

One one site, it all went fine. On two other sites, they won’t load since the updates. I just want a clue what to look for.
