Hi Andon. We have the UDesign theme. It was purchased on our developer’s account. If we purchase it now, could you assist if we have trouble updating it? unfortunately flash-based sliders are a thing of the past, they are not mobile friendly, actually many mobile devices will not even offer flash support, additionally is security concerns with flash. I see you are using Piecemaker 2, I’m pretty sure there used to be a WP Plugin for it, so just Google it and you should be able to find if it’s still available. So that would be one way for you to transition, another would be to use Revolution slider where you could mimic the same look and feel as your current slider, they offer a variety of transition effects so I don’t see any issues being able to match the look.

hi, I am using the portfolio section to put up album cover art, but the theme automatically crops the images to rectangles instead of squares….is there a way i can adjust the crop setting on portfolio so my art looks right/

Pre order question. Does your theme have any special requirements for WP Memory Limit and PHP Time Limit. My site is on a shared server and they have limits of WP Memory Limit of 256mb and PHP Time Limit of 120 seconds. Does your theme require more than this. Thanks.

thanks for your interest in U-Design theme.
Those values seam pretty reasonable to me, should be fine with the theme. In some cases, although I’m not sure that’s theme specific, I’ve seen some users with a lot of heavy content on pages (lots of shortcodes, links, etc.) the content might not show, until they increase the WordPress recursion limit, if you even encounter that you could increase that limit from your site’s wp-config.php file, we have more info on that in the support forum.

Thanks for the quick reply! My host does not allow changing the PHP Time limit beyond 120 seconds. I’ve tried changing it in the wp-config.php file and they catch it. Thanks again.
120 is above average, I think usually that’s set to “60”

I downloaded just today (04/15/16) newest version from ‘My Downloads’, BUT the WPBakery and Revolution Slider plugins were still not the most recent versions and WP shows they require updating. I see no way to upgrade them (not via Envato Toolkit nor via UDesign related plugins) yet they came with my purchase from you. I tried deleting them and letting UDesign re-install, but no luck – still old versions. Advice?
Yes, that’s correct, VC folks released an update a couple of days ago, I’m wrapping up a theme update scheduled for early next week and I’ll make sure to included the latest VC in it. I always test newly released versions to make sure everything works smoothly with the theme

I would like to know if it easy to change the default font size in the blog posts. I know that there are many fonts to choose from, but I find the font size too small and would like to increase it so that visitors to my website can read it with ease. the blog posts’ font size is the general body font size which you setup globally for the site from the theme’s options. If you want to overwrite those, even if it’s for a specific page you could easily do that with custom CSS.

Hmmm, maybe I must be blind or you buried the lead somewhere? I can’t find anywhere on the UD page in Themeforest that states 4.5 compatibility. In the changelog, where does it state “compatible with WP 4.5”? Unless of course 4.4.2 is supposed to mean 4.5.

I had forgotten to update the WP 4.5 compatibility status, so thanks for reminding me.
In the changelog, if you find things that talk about WP 4.5 compatibility fix, etc, that usually inclines that the theme has been prepared for the new coming release, I don’t think anyone would state in the changelog:
- the theme is now Compatible with WP 4.x.x

Not in the changelog, but certainly somewhere at the top of the page, a banner over the header image, updating the right column (which you did). I’tt take the bag on not seeing the bottom of the cl list.

U-design theme shows breadcrumbs like Homepage > Essential_grid > Some_essential_grid_post_name. How can i change it, so Essential_grid is hidden, or there is custom essential grid category name?

In general, you are seeing the “Essential_grid” in your breadcrumbs because you have created those posts as Essential Grid category custom post type. You would need to have those created as regular posts to have a different category show in the Breadcrumbs, I checked under the Essential Grid support comments and they recommend that as well.

Hi there – I’m just reporting a bug I’m experiencing. We received Essential Grid as part of the U-Design package – for some reason I can’t select a Post Category anymore (the box for post categories is skinny and there is no text in there). Every so often our posts on the front page (using essential grid) just drop off… I have to go physically into Essential Grid for them to pop back up on the main page. I have screenshots to illustrate what’s happening – however my Support has expired, I thought though I could still report a bug here?
