Hi, Thanks for this awesome theme. But after the last update, the visual composer plugin is saying there is a new update but we cant update it because it’s saying we don’t have the licentie. How is that possible?

You can ignore that – this is for people who choose to buy the plugin for their own license. It’s not required as we purchase an extended license on your behalf. Visual Composer recently introduced this message to try and increase the sale of their own licenses – which is quite confusing to customers who get a license via a theme purchase – but we don’t control this message – but you can ignore it.

I’m guessing you’ve updated to WooCommerce 2.6 – you’ll need to roll back to 2.5.5 for the moment.
We’re working on updating the theme to support it, and hope to have it released by the end of the week.

Hello again, well even when i go back to WooCommerce 2.5.5 the button is not working “Proceed to Checkout”.
Basically if someone is using mobile they can’t click on “Proceed to Checkout” Is the same thing for Desktop, if you click the little bag it will take you to see your product but you cant click on “Proceed to Checkout”

Hi there – hmm that’s odd, perhaps trying a slightly earlier version if that’s the case. If you go to ‘Downloads’ within your Themeforest account there’s a checkbox you can tick to get an email as soon as the update to Captiva is available.

Have you updated the theme to the latest version? The update includes Visual Composer 4.11.2 which supports WordPress 4.5.

Are you sure you’ve updated Visual Composer also? If the theme has been updated you should see an option to update VC within Appearance > Install Plugins – ‘Update’
If you’re running any version of Visual Composer less than 4.11.2 then it hasn’t been updated.

That’s not an issue with the theme – you most likely have a plugin conflict. Try deactivating all plugins and see if it comes back. If it doesn’t you’ll need to talk to your hosting company. If it does then reactivate just Visual Composer, Redux Framework and Captiva Toolkit – if it’s still working you’re in good shape – you’ll then need to re-activate your other plugins one by one and check the editor after each re-activation to find the plugin causing your issue.

I disabled Contact Form 7 and Captiva Toolkit. Now I can work. But I can not activate Captiva Toolkit, because I am going to have the same problem.

that shouldn’t be the case – we have no reported bugs with Captiva Toolkit. Did you deactivate ALL plugins first? If you then activate just Captiva Toolkit and Visual Composer does it still work? If so, the issue is not Captiva Toolkit – if it breaks with just those 2 plugins please open a ticket here and include your WP site url and WP admin user/pass.

If things stop working after activating plugins I’d guess you’re on a low-powered shared hosting provider with low memory. I’d firstly start by seeing if you can increase the memory available: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/
If that doesn’t help, I’d switch to a much better WooCommerce optimized host such as Siteground – http://www.commercegurus.com/supsiteground

Hello Simon, We have seen and we have “memory_limit 128M”. You guys can support me? When I active 3 “yith” plugins, Wordpress editor and Visual Composer editor, disappear.

Hello, The host I’m using, it works perfectly with other e-commerce and other Wordpress themes. Only fault with these 3 plugins. The solution to this problem, can not change the host.
I think this is not a good support, because you do not give me a real solution ever. Your solution is always that we buy your hosting. I need a solution with my hosting, because my hosting is fully compatible and optimized with Wordpress and is also a very powerful hosting. Only gives problems with your theme and your plugins.

a.) We’re recommending a solid host that never has issues with any of the plugins we require or recommend – it’s not our hosting.
b.) The issue here has nothing to do with the theme. As we’ve determined thus far it sounds very like you have underpowered hosting that is not suitable for use with WooCommerce and the other plugins all active at the same time.
c.) You state your hosting is very powerful and optimized for WordPress – if that’s the case this kind of issue shouldn’t be happening.

Im aware of fontawsome icons, but you seem to be using other kind of icons aswell. On your homepage – long, underneath “Why choose captiva as your theme” and “Minimal, modern and gorgeous”. Can you tell me where i can find the full list of these icons?

Hello, thank you for issuing an update so quickly. I just used Envato Toolkit to update to Captiva v 1.9.2 but the Visual Composer plugin doesn’t look updated and and the VC problems caused by WP 4.5 still exist. I checked the manual download and didn’t see a folder for the VC plugin individually that I could upload via FTP. Can you give any guidance? Thank you
Try this:
- Download the latest version of the theme from Themeforest
- Unzip themeInstall/captiva.zip
- You’ll find Visual Composer within /inc/plugins/js_composer.zip
- Disable and delete the current version of Visual Composer on your site
- Upload the new one via Plugins > Add New

One more thing: I noticed my Captiva Theme Options has disappeared in the admin sidebar. My logo was removed after the update so I went to add it back in and the theme options are nowhere to be found. I thought maybe a plugin was causing it so I deactivated the plugins one by one but that didn’t fix it. I’ve looked all over the admin area but can’t find my Captiva Options. Another site I manage uses Captiva and I did the update for them and I can see the Options fine in that one…do you have any ideas why I can’t reach my options? I need to get my logo back in the header. Thank you!
never mind, the Redux Framework plugin was deactivated and I discovered that once I activated it, my theme options came back.

The new version of VC literally came out an hour ago. We’re in the process of updating all our themes to use it – but this will take time, and then needs to be re-submitted to themeforest for approval. If you’re attempting to resolve the issue with WP 4.5 please see below which is the best short term resolution until the theme update is available.

If your issue is in relation to your website suddenly having lots of layout problems/things missing – you’ve more than likely just upgraded to WordPress 4.5 – which Visual Composer is NOT currently compatible with. This is beyond our control. Once Visual Composer release an update the theme will be updated to include the new version and re-submitted to themeforest for approval – but that process can take a few days to complete. In the meantime, please downgrade to WordPress 4.4 until this issue is resolved. Something like that would require custom code which is beyond the scope of support. I would recommend leaving them as is for usability purposes – tap areas should be large on mobile – but you’re welcome to add your own custom code if you wish of course.

Good morning, I am trying to create a child theme. I am a WP novice and there’s a part of the Codex I could use some help with. Specifically, this statement ” if your Parent Theme uses only one main style.css to hold all of the css. If your theme has more than one .css file (eg. ie.css, style.css, main.css) then you will have to make sure to maintain all of the Parent Theme dependencies.” Is style.css the only style sheet.
Are there other style sheets we need to enqueue? If so, can you tell me which ones?

Updates like this are never included immediately as they need to be fully tested that they don’t conflict or break anything in the theme. We’re pushing updates for 2.5.2 this week, it will probably be in the following release, not this one, once we have more time to review it.

LayerSlider message: You need to authorize this site in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin. Purchase a license or enter an existing purchase code. I have latest Captiva version 1.9.1. LayerSlider is 5.5.1. Looked under appearance, installed plugins and LayerSlider is not listed. Is there something else I need to do to eliminate message?

If an update is available within the theme it will be available within Appearance > Install Plugins.
Re: license code – Despite the notice, you do not need to enter a key for LayerSlider. We purchase an extended license for the plugin on your behalf. You can safely ignore this message. We periodically update the plugin when new versions are made available and once we’ve tested them to make sure they work well with the theme.

Hello! I’ve purchased your theme a bit ago (best theme ever!) but my layerslider plugin is out of date and needs to be upgraded, however under the plugin title, it states: “You need to authorize this site in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin. Purchase a license or enter an existing purchase code.”. The purchase code from my theme purchase doesn’t work for the layerslider WP. Does the license for this theme not include updates for the Layerslider? Thanks!

We don’t include LayerSlider updates right away as they need to be tested to ensure a new version doesn’t do anything odd or break functionality in the theme.
We’ll look at including an update to LayerSlider in the next version so long as everything is ok.
