Is it possible to translate the individual portfolio-items with the WPML-plugin?

Before making a final purchasing decision, we have a couple of questions / issues we found in the theme preview:
- There seems to be a bug in the mobile navigation menu in all browsers. The hamburger icon seems to disappear when the menu is open and you have to click anywhere on the main page to close the menu. Is there a fix for this?
- The mobile navigation menu does not open at all, when you click on the hamburg icon on Internet Explorer 9.
- The description specifies that the theme is retina ready: However, the logo uses png (and a @2 fallback, which still does not look great on many devices). Could you implement an svg-option with png fallback, something like:

- Also, is there a full retina-replacement solution implemented in the theme? E.g. can you specify 3 different image resolutions for any image used in the theme, which will then be used according to pixel density of the visitor screen? Or are images simply scaled down responsively?

It may be a problem which many VC users have been facing lately as older versions of the plugin are not compatible with WP 4.5+.

Hi there! We’re using the Tilt child theme and just updated the parent theme and lost the data we had in the footer widgets and copyright line. Is this a known issue, and is there a way to get this information to be restored?

If you haven’t changed the theme core files, this shouldn’t happen on theme update as this data is stored in database, which, in turn, is not affected by updating theme files.
Also, your widgets may have somehow been deactivated, so try to look for them amongst inactive widgets.

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. We didn’t change the core files, just updated the theme, and we’re using the Tilt Child theme. The widgets aren’t in the inactive area, the data seems to be just gone.

Once again, simply updating the theme cannot affect any of the website content or configuration. If you follow the update instructions, then only theme files are overwritten. They don’t contain any content data as it is stored in the database on your server, which is not affected by theme update.
There must have been some other actions that lead to this (in fact nothing related to footer has been changed for a long time in this theme). E.g. if you activated Child Theme after you set up your footer then widgets might have gotten messed up, which is logical as in fact Child Theme is indeed a different theme with its own settings.
As a sanity check I’ve just simulated your case on our testing installation – I updated the parent theme with child theme activated (as many of our buyers actually do as well) and everything went absolutely smoothly as expected without any data or widgets lost.
Love the theme, i just have one BUT… no social media integrated to the theme.. there is no place to put the icons/links… except manually.

Please note that, as you are probably aware, you can insert social icons using shortcodes. Some more advanced social integration can also be added using 3rd-party plugins (many our buyers actually go this way).

Yeah, i checked it out and social integration was easy enough.
One more thing.. is it possible to change header style? i need to put the logo centered on top of the menu. I have been doing some css changes but i dont wanna break the theme functionality and responsiveness..

I just bought this theme and using it now. But editing with Visual Composer takes a very long time to load when making any changes… it tends to freeze every time for 5 seconds making every edit/change longer to do. What is going on? and how can I fix this?

Sorry to hear about your problem!
I must say that it looks like a performance issue at your side, Visual Composer has been working smooth in our tests. Very likely it’s a browser issue – such things can happen when a lot of operating memory is used, e.g. when many tabs are open, browser extensions are active or simply lot of stuff happening in a browser.
First thing to try would be to switch browser or deactivate extensions and see if performance improves. If you see no changes, please submit a ticket on our Support Forum.
Glad to know it wasn’t an issue with Visual Composer! =) Thanks so much for the speedy response.. I tried disabling all of my browser extensions and nothing changed. But I tried it with a different browser and everything is going more smoothly now! Thanks again!!
No problem. I bet you were using Chrome, weren’t you? It’s well known for consuming a lot of memory, so since a different browser works smoother for you, I guess this should be a solution in this case.

I’ve just updated the theme to 1.6.7, but in Visual Composer I can’t add an Essential Grid. I can add a new row and select Essential Grid. Then I choose my desired grid, but when clicking on ‘Add selected grid’ nothing happens. I updated Visual Composer and the Core Extension plugin. Any ideas for a solution? Thanks in advance!

I’ve just checked on our testing installation – everything works fine. Please make sure you cleared your browser’s cache after updating the plugins and your grid is properly set up. If the problem persists, submit a ticket on our Support Forum.

Great theme! Quick question. I updated wordpress and VC. When I go to edit a page, the VC editor spins and spins and doesn’t actual load the page content area. what can I do to get this working again, as my client would like their website edited. =)

You don’t need to purchase any additional license for the bundled plugins. They all are fully functional out of the box, that’s what you paid for initially
So feel free to ignore this message.
However, if you see a notification that a new version of Visual Composer is available, please check if you have the latest version of the theme installed. Most probably that a newer version is available. After you update the theme, you will see a notification to update the bundled plugins (as all the bundled plugins updates are provided with theme updates).

Hello TWC,
thank you for your prompt response. I have done accordingly your instructions and keeps saying the same:
I have updated WP to Version 4.5.2 and the theme to version: 1.6.6.1
And it still does not work. It appears the message:
“Would you like to receive automatic updates and unlock premium support? Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.”
If we access to a page to edit it it does not apper the VC form.
Could you please give any advice?

Hi Pau,
As it was said earlier, feel free to ignore this message. If VC doesn’t work, it’s definitely not because of a license key. Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache (and flushing the cache in your caching plugin if you have any)? It may be the cause.
If this doesn’t help and you are sure that you currently have the latest theme and plugins versions installed, please submit a ticket on our Support Forum and provide your WordPress login details so we can take a look.

What version of the theme, Visual Composer and TWC Theme Extension plugin do you currently have installed? These need to be updated to their latest versions in order to work properly with WP4.5.
Please make sure you update the theme to the latest version and then apply the bundled plugins updates. As a result, Visual Composer will be updated to 4.11.2.1. Afterwards you may need to clear your browser’s cache and flush cache in your caching plugin (if you use any).

What are exact versions of the theme, Visual Composer and TWC Theme Extension plugin that you are currently using? Also, have you tried clearing the cache (both browser’s and in your caching plugin if you are using any)? It may be that old JS files are being loaded if you have updated recently.

I just find a solution: • Update all, Plugin VC, Tilt Theme and Wordpress (4.5.2) • Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser. • Deactivating all plugins (yes, all) to see if this resolves the problem. • If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin. • Logout from Wordpress > Clear your browser cache. • Login to Wordpress.
So it works fine at your end now, right? I guess clearing/flushing the cache should be enough, but if it doesn’t help, your suggested solution should be the way to go.

Hi, I’m trying to Overlay a white colour on an image so that the text is still visible but where it says “Use ‘Alpha’ option to set the opacity of the overlay.” .. I can’t seem to find the Alpha option?

Alpha channel slider should appear right under the colorpicker. If by any chance you don’t see it, please submit a ticket on our Support Forum and provide information about what setting of what shortcode element you are talking about and maybe a screenshot of a colorpicker. Thanks!

Loving the theme so far but I sadly have one more issue i can’t seem to resolve. I’m trying to create a Custom Tab and I can’t seem to add tabs like if I just do a normal Tab Element? Regarding the issue with Custom Tabs – this bug has already been fixed. Please update the theme to the latest version, and afterwards update Visual Composer to version 4.11.2.1 and TWC Theme Extension plugin to version 1.6.6.1.

How do I change the portfolio-item slug to be something else? I’ve tried changing “portfolio-item” in the portfolio_post_type.php file but it did not change the slug in the URL.

You’re on the right way. After changing the slug as you described, just go to Settings > Permalinks in your Dashboard and click “Save Changes”. This will refresh the permalink structure.

You should only use the Visual Composer installation which comes bundled with the theme as it’s a modified version. It doesn’t require any additional licence to purchase. Currently the latest version of Visual Composer is 4.11.2.1, which is also included in the theme package.
Please make sure you update the theme and all the bundle plugins to their latest versions, and if you still have problems afterwards, submit a ticket on our Support Forum.

If we bought the license, it’s because it didn’t longer work with the theme.
No additional license is needed for bundled plugins. You pay once for the theme and get all the bundle plugins with it. If something doesn’t work, just submit a ticket on our Support Forum and we will be more than willing to help.
Regarding your issue – I guess it may have happened after you updated to WordPress 4.5, am I right? Visual Composer of any version prior to 4.11.2.1 does not work with WP 4.5. Therefore, as I wrote previously, please update the theme to its latest version, then update the bundled plugins, and very likely that Visual Composer will work fine again. If by any chance it does not, please submit a ticket on our Support Forum and we will look into that issue.

Correct, it will! You should update the theme and apply updates to bundled plugins. Then everything should work fine. Once again, it’s not the theme which doesn’t work with WP 4.5, its old versions of Visual Composer that are not compatible with WP 4.5.

Hi, i’m having some trouble with the portfolio item page. I would like to obtain this result http://themeforest.net/item/tilt-creative-multipurpose-theme/full_screen_preview/11451074 . I’ve activated the visual composer for portfolio item, but when I try to manage the different elements, or to set the columns it doesn’t work. How can I fix this trouble? Please submit a ticket on our Support Forum and describe how you are trying to achieve the result – only then we can say what you may possibly be doing wrong. The link you provided leads to a general demo preview page. Could you please post the one that leads to some particular page?
Also, have you tried importing the demo data? It contains portfolio item pages that you can use as a starting point for making your own.
