please does the Valenti theme have a H1 tag when using the static home page?

No it doesn’t, you need to manually add one, as there isn’t a way for the theme to know what text you want as your h1 on the homepage. On categories/tags/posts/etc it’s easy because it’s the name of that thing. Hope this makes sense.

No problemo! But i’m afraid it definitely can’t be done to the views, as those have to be cached, otherwise Jetpack will ban your account!

Thanks for choosing Valenti, I hope you enjoy using it.

1- In the theme options -> Global styling, in the “Global background image” option you simply upload your background image, and then in the “background-repeat” option select the “Stretch to fit”, that is what the theme demo site uses.

2- You do that with the homepage builder. Follow the instructions to build your homepage from the documentation, and simply add multiple grid modules to achieve that. Then if you want to remove the white spaces, share your URL of that page here and I’ll explain how to do that too.

Another issue, in mobile view the theme doesnt work proper. My home page’s images are taking much more place than the background in terms of height. Please check out at www.takemethereproject.com . Im starting to regret the money I spent on this theme seriously.

To remove the spacing in between modules, add this custom css to your theme options > Custom code > custom css box:

.page-id-236 .cb-grid-block { margin: 0; }

And the theme works absolutely perfectly and properly, any issues are due to improper setup. It has over 8000 happy customers, don’t you think if it “didn’t work proper” that you’d see more comments with complaints?

I had a look at your site on mobile and it all looks absolutely normal to me. Images are responsive, meaning that because desktop screens are landscape rectangular in proportions, and phones are portrait, images can’t be shown exactly the same. This is physical restraints and makes sense why things.

But I’m afraid not, the mobile menu covers the entire mobile page when opened. I believe this is much better than half though, because you won’t be limited in menu item title length, and visitors who open the menu want to focus on the menu items, so the screen should show exactly what they want to see.

That looks really strange, are you using a child-theme? If so, check that you aren’t overwriting the author template file. as that would be why.

That image is just the featured image. I am looking to make that image a complete background image but the page background setting that comes with your template does not work. I downloaded another plugin so it’s working now.

But the background image isn’t for that though, if you select the featured image style to be “Background” option, like you have, then all you need to do is set a featured image and it will output like that. The other background option does work, but it doesn’t output when your featured image style is a full-background one. The background option only applies when you select other featured image styles (such as standard or full-width ones).

1- Remember to check the documentation, as most answers are already there But you simply go to Appearance -> Menus and set a menu to the “Small-screen navigation menu”. The reason it’s a separate menu is so you have complete control over what to show there and aren’t automatically forced to show the main menu one there.

2- You edit your categories and give them a global category color. Now any modules that you set to show from a specific color will use that color automatically.

3- That is called the breaking news bar, it’s an option in the theme options, and you can set it all up in there to show trending posts

I’m afraid not, but you can apply it to all existing posts by installing this plugin:

Other notes:

• It’s very nice that when switching between your themes, the setting mostly carry over. However, one setting that does not carry over is the featured image setting. In 15Zine, images with align:none are full-screen width, whereas in Valenti align:none makes them full-size. It would be better if both followed the same rules so that the style would carry over when switching.
• When sharing a post on social media (Twitter, Pinterest tested) the theme (Valenti only tested) does not supply image information.

That’s all I have so far.

Any idea about the Valenti widgets being missing from the latest theme files?

Regarding the widgets, the are part of the core Cubell functionality plugin, install that and you’ll see the widgets in Valenti.

And I do know what you mean about the featured image setting carrying over, but there was a naming issue which is why it happens when changing from one theme to the other.

For the social media data, as most users install SEO by Yoast (or similar plugins), then in order to avoid having duplicate meta data outputting ,the theme let’s plugin take care of that. So simply install SEO by Yoast (a must-install plugin really) and it should help a lot.

I had a look and I think I fixed it, but I’m not sure I set the right logo so check that out.

You had the global background ad enabled but nothing entered, and you had custom CSS that was causing issues to the banner!

Hi Cubell, The problem is still there…. My preference is Not to have a Logo on the site.

When I remove the logo – the problem returns.

The Leaderboard ad banner is completely shaded over with a black colour. I’ve left this on the site at the moment if you want to look at it?

When I set the logo option to ‘Centered’ it removes the advert completely and won’t show it – when its set to ‘Left’ it covers the advert with a black colour.

The same problem happens when I do a fresh brand new install on a test site here also.

The problem didn’t happen on version 4 of Valenti – It’s just happening now with version 5.

Am testing in Chrome & also Firefox.

The theme comes with the demo dummy data from v1.0 in XML form, but it doesn’t include images, as the images used in the demo are copyrighted and licenses were purchased to use them.

If I’m 100% honest though, I really wouldn’t recommend installing the dummy data, as the theme is so easy to use, it’s best if you just start setting it up yourself. Valenti isn’t built with bloated crappy shortcodes or the likes, it’s all logical and very WordPress-esque, so once you get the swing of it, it’s easy peasy
