Hi Subsolar, how can i change the wording from “view coupon” to “view offer”?
So on the homepage, under latest deals a pop up box will appear (if you choose to load a discount – the pop up box will reflect “view deal”. However when you load a coupon – then the words “view coupon” appears. I’d like to change those words to reflect “view offer / view deal”. Where would I change this as it is not available to me under “theme settings>deals”

Hello Janine, The easiest way to do this is to use a translation program like POedit or a plugin like Codestyling Localization or WPML.

Per @benlovell’s question above – for a more local deals site/directory – can the country geo field be removed – so the search form is only showing the appropriate cities? (and no “country” selector) Great theme – def buying.

Hey….thanks, but that wasn’t the question I asked. Can the COUNTRY search be disabled (or removed) – but the CITY geolocation be enabled so that a local directory or deals site that only serves ONE “country” (in this case, the USA) have folks search ONLY the cities that are appropriate to the site. (this feels like a pretty simple UX decision – per some of the questions you’ve gotten above – not sure if you are understanding the question though – most genuine directories are going to serve ONE country or geographic area – not the entire world – or multiple countries – so having the option to REMOVE the “country” selector and just include the cities that are approrpriate for the site owner – and the audience – feels pretty intuitive and obvious.
(e.g – much like Listify does – or Listable – or any of the other directory style sites – yours is far better for deals and would sell a ton better if this was more prominent and clear
Hello, Unfortunately this isn’t available – you can enable/disable the country and the cities, it can’t be chosen between only one of those.

Hi, there is no native option for default country if the dropdown is hidden. It should be an easy work for a freelancer. We suggest you contacting one.
Thanks very much – going to buy today (through our primary account of which we also asked some questions above so you’ll see it ) I do think though – from a marketing & sales perspective, you would be well served incorporating that option into the theme – e.g. – if you force your users to have to have a “worldwide” directory to use the geolocation features, you eliminate about 80% of your audience (folks who would buy the theme) by saying – hey, this can’t be used for deals in a local area – or one state – or one country even – if you want to geolocate deals, you have to have your site audience pick a country”. That just feels like a really bad UX decision on a great theme, and you’d probably 3x your sales if you thought through that piece a bit better. (we run Listable for a deals based directory now, and uses a whole different WC extension for deals and urgency offers, etc – couponhut would be a MUCH better usecase for folks who are doing the same thing, but location has to be more flexibile to do so) Just my opinion of course, – and some free advice

Hi guys, liking the look of this theme. Can you tell me if it’s possible to list deals by city? For example, I would like a menu tab with different cities that users can choose and that will display deals just for those cities.
The deals can be filtered by city using the Filter Widget and the Search Header (they can be seen at the right and top in the Browse Deals page of the demo – http://subsolardesigns.com/couponhut/deals/).
Thanks, I meant can the deals be sorted per town on separate pages? Like they are on Groupon etc.
We’re wanting the site to have a menu drop down of different towns so you can select a town and it will bring up deals for that town.
Unfortunately, there is currently no such option in the theme.

You can use other stores with affiliate programs. Unfortunately we can’t recommend such stores, it is up to the client to find their business niche.
if is not an affiliate program site cant work? if a user having , for example, a PC store and sells laptops and want to add a coupon or a discount, he cant do it? if he can , how i can charge him using my site?
You can charge them when they buy a coupon/offer. For example, to see the link/code to the offer, they can pay to be able do to so.
A quick pre-purchase question: (can’t remember if I asked this way back when I first stumbled upon this theme Can the front page (or header level) search area (deals/coupons and cats/geography) be extended with one of the popular WP search plugins? In other words -on your demo – when I search for a company (something many users/public visitors will do on a niche/local/or affiliate oriented deals site) there are no results offered – whereas, when the deals/coupons are searched for those vendors (companies) the results appear as expected. Have you tested this with any of the “searcheverything” style plugins so that this header level search area queries all posts/custom fields/etc? (so that we don’t have to mod this ourselves)
The same question for the WC oriented deals – “products” are pulled from the build in search functionality as well?
Love the theme – really love the single deal pages – very unique and should have far higher conversions/clicks than other WC deals themes that arent’ designed with this sort of detail. Thanks

We tested the theme with “Search Everything” Plugin and by clicking the “Search custom taxonomies” checkbox, you will be able to search company names.
The WooCommerce functionality is integrated into the Deals custom post type of the theme. The WooCommerce Products post is left untouched.

Great, thanks so much 1 last question/clarification on the WC side of the street: The appeal of WC compatability (for my needs) on the theme would be future proofing the offers/products/ should we move to another theme or framework down the road – will the WC deals “move” or migrate well in the future to another WC oriented theme “as is” – or by virtue of the custom post type integration – (I assumed they were standard WC products) – there would be some custom post integration work neccessary to match couponhut WC “Deals” as standard products on a new WC store? Thanks again – just want to be 100% clear!
If you need to export the deals from CouponHut to another theme (if I understand correctly), you could use a plugin like WP All Import. It will give you the tools to export and import the deals post type with all their meta data to another type of post type.
Can this theme be used as a shop?
There is a WooCommerce integration so you can use it as a shop, yes.

2. As this question is not connected to our theme we cannot recommend a security plugin as we have never experienced such issues.
3. You can have any type of content or categories, there is no restriction.

You have to enable the option from the options panel > Deals tab. After that a checkbox will appear when a user registers with a username and a password.

I love how it looks and its pretty easy to configure. But now I am totally bummed. I bought the theme primarily because it offered the ability to print the deal/coupon and the demo leads you to believe that is the case, but it looks like it only prints an image, not the deal otherwise. This won’t work if there isn’t a way for the vendor to input information into the submit form that then displays in the popup and that is what prints. Few vendors have the ability to create their own coupon unless they have an art department. Am I missing something or am I up a creek?
Currently, CouponHut doesn’t have such option. We are planning such thing, but it really depends on the interest in such feature.
Would suggest then you make it more clear that the print feature is of an image uploaded to the submit form. Now I have to go with another option.

Yes, deals can be set to be viewed only for registered members.

1.) Is there any way to limit the amount of sale for deals per customer (a user xy can only purchase a deal once)?
2.) As admin / shop owner, can I define the number of deals I have available (if I only have 20 deals I want to sell)? And where would this number be visible in the deal frontend for the user?
3.) Can a customer see how many deals he bought and maybe also sold if shop owner? Can he also see the number of deals which are left (see question 2)?
4.) Ultimate Member is now obsolete. How does the replacement work? How do I set different user groups?

Hi there,
1) No, there is no such option.
2) Clicking on a shop page will display how many deals there are (“Browsing # deals”)
3) The deals bought/selling can be seen from the tabs of the profile page (latest version of the theme)
4) This theme now uses WooCommerce, you can try integrating the plugin with it.

To 2) We didnt mean how many deals in general. We meant the number of deal per unique deal: I insert deal X but only have 20 deals of that which I want to sell. So only 20 customers could buy that deal and the frontend shows “13 deals left” or something.
3) That does not show up, I have the version from sunday installed. Any specific I have do set here?
5) At the moment I cannot buy a deal, I always get the error message that the “Mr./Mrs”. field is not filled. But it is.

Hello, as a freelancer customizing this theme it would be very useful and helpful to know the files that are changed on updates. It would also be helpful to see the complete change log, what has changed and the files that have changed on each update since the initial release of the theme. I see this on other themes. FYI.. I updated to v2.5.2 today and WC is still showing a template that is out of date: couponhut/woocommerce/order/order-details.php version 2.5.3 is out of date. The core version is 2.6.0,

I have three questions:
1. I installed the template including woocommerce, activated the woocommerce integration, added a deal including the woocommerce price, but when I press “add-to-cart” on the deal, the cart stays empty. I cannot put anything into the cart. The browser does something (loading something) but it just keep staying on the same page with an empty cart.
2. How does a shop owner adds a deal? I saw your submit-demo but there is no such page in my demo-installation even I changed the rights of the user to shop manager.
3. Is there an account page where I buyer could see all his purchases? and I shop manager could see all his deals?

1. A new version with a fix for the latest WooCommerce plugin will be up in a few hours.
2. You have to create a new page with the Deal Submit Template selected for it. Then you can insert it in the navigation menu.
3. The shop manager can see his submitted deals under the profile icon at the top right. Both client and company can see their purchased deals from their profile page in the newest version.

Have you tried making a clean install of the theme? It is possible that the person who has done that for you may have broken something.
