how do I enable thumbnails and playbutton on stories? when users post new stories, the thumbnails and the playbutton for videos dont appear (even with youtube links).

Stories > All/Edit > on the right side select Video.
2) do i need to manually edit all posts of type video so the thumbnails appear? Like, if a new user posts a video, the thumbnail will appear only when the administrator edit that post to video?

2) No, if you fetch from exteral url via submit form, make sure the external url has Open Grahp Meta image. If not, it can’t fetch the image, and you need to edit / set featured image via Admin Dashboard
If you create a new story via Admin dashboard, you can add a thumbnail, see on the right side, featured image > click “set featured image” > select your image

When I click “Suggest Title” when inserting a new story with a youtube URL UpVote fetch title, description correctly, so youtube SUPPORTS open graph. SO WHY thumbnail AND play button are not working as they are intended to?

1 ) youtube supports og meta image.
2 ) If you submit story via Admin, you must add thumbnail image manually.
3 ) for video post type, you can’t play a video by click play button. You need to insert manually video embed url into editor.
I’m not submiting story as admin and am still getting the same error: thumbnails are not being displayed.
I just received an email from Envato saying there was an update for the theme, but when I install the latest file the Theme is still showing version 1.0.4. Was there supposed to be an update available?

Your last update from June says version 1.0.4 and this update does the same version number of 1.0.4 please advise…
The description is not (optional) night now… I think it needed to be optional, like if a user has a very good title and doesn’t want to add description
And the link redirection is not so quick, it’s taking 5 seconds.. that’s so time consuming, not good.
why not make it more flexible?

Google adsense plugin from google is not able to save the custom ads places on the upvote theme. Apparently it does not have permissions to write to upvote directory i guess. It gives me a 403 error.

You can change the directory permission /wp-content/upvotes/. via cPanel or FTP Clients
I posted ad code javascript from adsense in the banner ans exit page. But the script is getting displayed in the pages directly.

This modification require a lot of changes on php files, it’s beyond our support policy.
Previously you solved an issue related to links opening in same tab and new tabs. I just found that if a user clicks on the links of the stories posted from the back end, the story opens up in the same tab. I want it to open in a new tab. I guess the “target=_blank” is missing in such links. Let me know where should I make the change so that the story opens in a new tab. Thanks.

Let’s say I select “Technology”. What I wanted to know is if I can rearrange the stories on “technology” based on something else: instead of the most recent stories, I wanted most popular or most liked, or most disliked. Do video links not play videos?

There is no shortcode to show certain story categories. However you can create or add menu items (stories categories).
1. Go to Appearance > Menus.
2. On the left side, under Stories Categories, select item, and click Add to Menu.
3. Do not forget to save menu.
