Requesting to have post_format added for the Sort order drop-down!
It’s a bit hard to understand why such a powerful theme doesn’t have the functionality to filter post by format

Just curious what setting I’m missing (or if I’m using the wrong dimensions) to allow my featured image to go the full width of the designated area. There’s a vertical gray bar on the right. I’ve adjusted the image dimensions but it doesn’t seem to help.

You could use a plugin like Thumbnail Upscale in combination with Force Regenerate to stretch it or you could try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css – http://screencast.com/t/jFD1o1o0

If you want only to decrease the slider’s height you can try that css code and add the height value. The Roboto and Open-sans are loaded from the code because they are used on the theme’s elements by default. If you don’t want to use them you can remove/comment it you already us a custom font – http://screencast.com/t/neL25B4A These default fonts need to be loaded because they are used in the stylesheet file. So removing that code, it doesn’t mean that you remove them also from the style.css file.

Please make sure you use the latest theme version 3.1 and also the latest version of Social Counter plugin provided with the theme 4.1. Just updated Newsmag on smartphone-mania.de. The Homepage Crashed, Visual Composer doesnt work, blocks are gone. The Social Media Plugin doesnt work, The Mega Menu doesnt load and not work. My configuration is done (e.g. no comment count etc.). WTF? I will know downgrade from data backup. Please tell me what is wrong here? I have made many updates from Newsmag in the past but never had such problems!

Did you updated also the plugins provided with the theme(Visual Composer, Social Counter..)? Please make sure that after the theme update, you update also these plugins, check the Visual Composer update guide(the procedure is the same for all plugins) – http://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ Also please clear all your caches and purge your files if you use CDN.

I see that you already bought the theme, so if you did not managed to find the answer for this, I can tell you that the theme has a template without featured image on post page(post style 7) – http://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-default-post-templates/ and you can set it only on individual posts.

If you click on the “Post Comment” button without filling the required fields, it goes to a separate error page. You should make it like other themes have done it:when you try to post it, a bubble pops-up asking to fill in the fields.

I am sure you did not get what i am saying, i did not mean images within a post but homepage images. Check for example my homepage http://eduwall.org/homepage/ it still shows the placeholder image box with the caption, “enable thumnail from theme panel” but i dont that to show at all i only want post title alone on homepage, i dont want any image / placeholder.

If the featured images are active on posts, then they will be grabbed on the homepage blocks. If you want to have only title son the homepage, why not use blocks that do not show featured images like :

Thanks, exactly what i thought of, i personally like the block 9 http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-9/ but how will i make sure i have the latest post and not scramble post on those block if they appear on homepage? Secondly will i be able to have a pagination i uses the block 9 on my homepage?

I have tested the weather widget again but it seems to work fine on our end: http://screencast.com/t/3CT6XoofFuPc please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. In the theme panel there is a section for custom code – the iframe items don’t seem to resize, so i added a custom javascript code which was not doing anything. I then removed this javascript. However, it seems to have not actually been removed, as it is inflicting on posts on which i have posted up, and the ‘custom code’ ‘custom javascript’ section, is blank.
Could you please advise me where in the files, this is saved if it does so, in the FTP? OR otherwise, how do i reset these values to default within the theme? Thanks.

The setting mentioned will not delete your posts or page layouts as these settings are not theme panel settings. It will only reset the theme panel. Everything you set outside of the theme panel will remain intact

The only posts that are remove when resetting the theme panel is the demo content. Simply install the demo again and the demo content will be installed again. Content you created is not removed. Only content added by the theme. This also happens when you change demos. Or uninstall a demo.

The only reason that that button ‘reset’ was pressed was because of this quote earlier from your team – ...

If you have your own content created by adding new posts, categories and pages, they will not get removed. If you edited the demoe content (dummy data) , this gets removed as it is added through the theme panel by installing the demo. The dummy data is part of the theme panel.

What happens if you edit the dummy data, and then update the theme when updates come out – would it remove the content again if it is dummy data? Thanks.
The dummy data only gets removed when you change the demo or uninstall a demo. or reset the theme panel which uninstalls the demo.
The best thing to do is install a demo without dummy data and simply create your own content. That way it will not get removed

What is the point of the options of having the dummy data, ie layout – if it gets removed? Sorry if we are crossing wires here, If i would like to install the ‘animal theme demo’ – ‘without content’ or ‘include content’ – which one are you suggesting? Because when you install it ‘without content’ it isn’t keeping any layout? Thank you

A demo can be installed with or without content. If you choose to install the dummy data, this is only meant to be a testing environment so you can see the theme and demo style in action so you do not have to add dummy posts and content yourself before you choose which layout you want. If you install the demo without the dummy data, the style is kept, but you will not have any dummy data. You have to create your own content using the theme settings. A demo changes the style of the theme, not the functionality. Hello, my Instagram feed does not work even if i tried cocacola, or other public accounts, I keep getting the message “Instagram data error: Instagram html data cannot be retrieved” . Also the Social counter does not work for Instagram, it works for Youtube though. What is the problem please? can you fix this? I’ve already tried to disable all plugins except Visual composer and still no problem. Our website is www.mediafree.gr

Visual Composer does not work. Won’t to be loaded. I can only switch from Visual editor to Visual composer, but composer never load. My last version of WPBakery Visual Composer is 4.7.4, which i got with theme when i bought Newsmag theme. I think that i have that problem from last Wordpreess update which was 4.6.

The popular posts element is part of the predefined content that comes with the footer style. Unfortunately it can only be ‘translated’. You cannot change it;s settings. If you want to have your own cusatom elements in the footer area, please choose a footer style that does not have predefined content and add your own blocks in the wordpress widgets area under the 3 footer widgets called footer 1, footer2 and footer 3. If you have also Newspaper you can change to header style 12 and set also the background color for your menus – http://screencast.com/t/MUtPYOXiaCh – http://screencast.com/t/kbagcqJwV
Please remove your background color from here – http://screencast.com/t/iKamwspJ as when you have a background image or color set, the site will automatically switch to boxed version.
