If the only homepage doesn’t change header type, you should edit homepage to change header type to Default in Layout Options. Because header selection in each page will have higher priority than general selection.

But I have couple of more questions if you could help.
1. Yesterday I edited the CSS code for header-v6 in the file theme.css (\htdocs\sleeptight247\wp-content\themes\riven\css folder) and it worked perfectyl. But today I was editing the file again and no changes were made to the website. I even took out the whole CSS folder from the location and no changes happened to the website. I am also not able to edit the css trought Appearance>Editor>style.css
2. What would you recomend to optimize the site for mobile phones, tablets? Things like the logo and the slider are too big and I would need them smaller so they fit on the smaller devices.

1. For custom CSS, you should edit style.css file. Because theme.css file will be regenerated after saving Theme Options with Compile CSS option turn on. If you can’t edit style.css file via Appearance>Editor, you should set permission for it. You can follow this guide. https://community.1and1.com/enabling-the-wordpress-theme-and-plugin-editor-wordpress-free-mode/ Or you can edit the file directly in wp-content/themes/riven(riven-child if you use child theme)/style.css file. We recommend using child theme to customize the theme.
2. For the logo, it is responsive in mobile and tablet. If the logo you used in your site is too big, it should be fixed by style. How do I get all the other demo pages such as coming soon, different variations, etc.. etc.. ? With the old demo content it was easy but now all I get is one homepage at a time and thats it.
Just to clarify importing just the dummy content gives me services and about us and some woocommerce but there used to be so much more – maybe its just been paired down significantly? Oh well still a great theme!

How do i take of the gradient shade on the slider or reduce it intensity

It can be changed by changing main color and highlight color in Theme Options > Skin > General . Remember to turn on Compile CSS option in Skin tab and click Save changes to take effect all changes.
If you want different color from the main color, you can add custom style to the bottom of style.css file . (Change hex color to whatever color you like)

Hi, how can I add my own header image? In Customizing – Header Image I can upload my own header image, but it doesn’t appear.
Also, on that same customize page it says the following: “While you can crop images to your liking after clicking Add new image, your theme recommends a header height of 0 pixels.”
Which makes me think the theme doesn’t support uploading your own header image.
Any thoughts?

Actually, option for header image is not available now. The theme uses the gradient background color for headers. You can change background of header by changing theme color in Theme Option.

Forgive me my ignorance, but where exactly do I change the theme color so that the background color of the header changes? I see multiple options to change colors, but none of them actually changes the color of the header.
I see: Customizing – Colors – Header Text Color Customizing – Colors – Background Color (this changes the body background color, not the header) Customizing – Skin – General – Primary Color Customizing – Skin – General – Highlight color
None of these change the header background color

For header type 1, you can change primary color and highlight color to change background of header, For other headers, there are no options for header background yet. It should add custom stylesheet to bottom of style.css file change it. header{background: #700877;}

Is there a way to make the logo larger for header 5 (the business header)? The site I am working on (http://www.bayareamealsonwheels.com), logo is more of a square shape and it is hard to read when I make it the suggested size.
I actually figured that out in the header_5.php file. Is there a way to change the colors of the headers? Like the menu or the grey top header with the social widgets.

Thanks for getting back to me but when I got to the Stylesheet (style.css) I am only seeing what I have included below and nothing else. Did something go wrong when I uploaded the theme? I have worked with style sheets in the past and usually there is a lot more to edit. The style of theme is generated to theme.css file after saving change theme option and style.css file is only for adding some custom stylesheet. So you can add custom stylesheet in the previous comment to customize the header.

Okay, I did all that but I am still not able to change the entire header to the color I want, when I entered .header-v5 .mega-menu > li a{background: #263960;} it only changes the color right around the menu options not the entire bar. and I can not get the color of the text in the contact bar to change from grey to white.
This is all a lot more coding than I would like to have to do for a premium theme. Would it be possible to get my money back or to exchange for a theme that has more of these options built in?

It has fatally stopped the entire theme options panel from working. I cant get the theme to recompile no matter what I do and I was in the last stretch of an entire website. Having to reset this section would mean losing all of my custom CSS. Any direction you can point me in would be really really helpful. I can ask Shab to confirm her purchase of the theme, but we are on a tight deadline and any help would be greatly appreciated.

We added width and height value in header_1.php file to avoid some unwanted problem such as break header if logo image is too big. So it will need a little change in riven\headers\header_1.php file (about line 65 for sticky logo: width=”62” height=”52”) in order to change size of logo.
